“La Pradera de San Isidro” or “The Meadow of San Isidro” by Francisco de Goya.
This work is an oil on canvas sketch for a tapestry cartoon for a decorative series of popular pastimes to decorate part of the El Pardo palace, commissioned by Carlos III. The image depicts the lively atmosphere Saint Isidro feast day in the year 1788 with the outline of Madrid in the background.
