- “Inmaculada Concepcion” or “The Immaculate Conception” by Giambattista Tiepolo. This 18th century Venetian painter was called to Madrid by King Charles III to decorate the new palace after the burning of the Real Alcazar in 1734, after this assignment he asked to stay in Madrid which is when he was commissioned this painting for the church of San Pascual. His use of dreamy pastels and Venetian yellows and blues along with various elements create a dynamic story telling aspect in this scene of the Immaculate Conception.
