My suggestion for such rides stopping at Melaka is booking a landed homestay property as accommodations is the better option. Many are dotted around near Jonker. Many rooms. Just bring the bikes into the gated home. Don't bother with hotels with their "security".
I am a solo cyclist and used to cycle a lot all around the world,. I live in KL now and planning to do KL - Penang with my bike. but on the road cyclists awareness not so great for a cycling journey haha that i am pretty terrified! I can see now the value of a group !

I do call the hotel 1st before booking if can bring bike to room. I don't blame the security because the only do their job and they will get in trouble. So just checked 1st with the hotel

Another good thing about homestay: shared living room space so everyone can eat takeaway food tgt!!

Nice job thats a tough distance
Awesome ride! I did SG to Melaka in 2018. Fond memories and my longest distance ever.
Bonus is that the post-ride makan is gonna be amazing because it’s Melaka 😈

Hello! What was the road surface and traffic like on your route? Greetings
hi. Just wondering if you have the GPX file for your route from Malacca to KL? My group's riding from SG-Malacca-KL next weekend as well. :)
