The weight difference is huge I'm amazed it's doing it but the key 🗝️ is those blocks you got under those back tires of that jeep and your going to have to pull him all the way out
Hey Matt, your recovery skills are seriously impressive! Thanks for breaking down all those technical details in your videos!! Quick question: when you mention 'winching brake - which locks all four tires,' is that like a system to apply the brakes on all wheels? How does it work?
We have a tazer module it uses the abs solenoids to lock all the brakes You push the brake pedal down hit a few buttons and the red brake light starts flashing on the dash to let you know it’s on Let go of the brake pedal and all brakes are now locked
I just went out n bought me a Harbor Freight 12,000 Apex n a winch cradle with 20 foot heavy gauge jumper cables after watching ur videos. I’m gonna weld some D rings to the back of the cradle, that way as long as I can anchor to any sturdy point or a Reese hitch of course n wire the heavy gauge jumper cables to the factory winch lines so I can hook up to pretty much any vehicle granted the batteries are within the cables length…
Why for some odd reason they go down in the Mud with street tires take your quad on the trailer and then go out on the 4 wheeler and check your food plot it's way lighter 😄
7 to 8000 on the f350 weight + resistance. Those grass pond like that suck, break the surface and you are stuck and it doesn't help when you dig it to China! I have seen 5-6 trucks stuck here in Central Florida in a grass pond, really sucks when you have 2 of stuck together with a tight rope in between them.
Never ceases to amaze me how these guys all take these huge crew cab diesels off road in the mud and then are surprised when they get stuck. Too much weight is no good for off roading on soft and wet ground.
Weights seemed to be covered in comments. For tow length for something like those vehicles were with dry ground in area twice the length of the vehicle at a minimum. Have you had to replace anything on your jeep that broke from all the towing, besides mirrors getting knocked off? Great videos keep them coming.
Is that jeep gladiator have a beefed up frame? I have seen where they break where the cab and box meetup. Seems like a lot of pressure on it when the scotch blocks are in use. Really enjoy the videos
Curb weight of a truck like that is about 7,500lbs... But that doesn't take into account any additional personal cargo in it etc, modifications like oversized wheels / tires etc... but the biggest determining factor is the additional load resistance from miring. that can vary dramatically depending on the consistency of the mud/water/terrain etc. They don't help by spinning the tires, it just continues digging trenches... the idea is to allow the tires to slowly roll up on top as it's pulled. Having the right tires makes difference too... those light duty Street tires can't self clean & they just grease up & are of no help.
I noticed that people try to drive out as you winch. Spinning the tires the whole time digging in as you pull. If they let you pull only and just roll the tires you could get on top faster.
Mine would spin the tires with no throttle in 4 low, have to ride the brakes lol my brother has a Cummins dually, and if you aren't pushing the brake through the floor board and shift into 4 low,it'll jump out 3 feet and scare the shit out of you lol
If I had to guess: I would say the f350 is about 140% the weight of the jeep. My Gladiator is 6,250 pounds so... About 8,500 pounds? I'm not curious enough to look it up just yet.
Guys when you get stuck. QUIT Faster than later. This guy axled his rig and made it much harder than it had to be And it could of been easily rescued with a shovel before he went all skinny pedal mode. And worst of all he owns an Fx4 and didn't lock the hubs after getting stuck.
That F350 probably weighs around 2000 pounds more than the jeep and it's gonna have to be pulled until it breaks suction and gets a little bit of traction
You sure you didn't add an extra ton to that? My Ram 3500 4WD Cummins dually, crew cab with long bed weighs 7300 pounds. I even looked at the data tags on the inside door, though you have to do some math to come up with weight of just the truck. They list the max weight of the truck fully loaded as 12,300 pounds and the max load weight as just shy of 5000 pounds. So 12,300-5000= 7300 pounds for just the truck..
Once a truck is sitting on the frame it’s all over but the crying. Seems the lesson to me is always have a mounted winch if you’re serious about going off road. And then learn how to use it.!
I have a 2002 F350 with 7.3L diesel. They are STUPID heavy. It will instantly sink to the bottom of any mud or sand. I used to drive over a little curb to pull into my yard everyday, and the front leafs broke.. that's how heavy they are. It's ridiculous; and a whole different world that gas trucks
my 01 is a 1 wheel wonder being 2wd open diff and it gets stuck if I get 1 wheel on wet grass. if you want to run these trucks in the mud you need some monster truck tires.
@@imchris5000 Yeah.. Mine is 6spd manual 4x4.. and it still gets stuck in 2 inches of mud. :).. Lockers are a must, or you're just not getting out-- without help. The weight difference is massive. It's the same way with sports bikes (crotch rockets).. I built a CBR600 into a quad and it was fast-- but it was way too heavy compared to regular quads like a 450R or banshee. People that have no experience in either one of these things, don't realize just how different the weight is.
That is exactly why I wouldn't have a big diesel 4x4 they are way to heavy and if yo get it down it's an act of Congress to get them out also the tires don't clean out he needs tusk terrabites
Man….you’ve got a good business going here. I think if you would have sit back for a couple more hours you could have made it a half dozen!😂 I don’t know how much stupid tax you add to your bill but, it’s probably not enough!😂
Well on scotch block video you showed 7200-7300 resistance on2:1 pull on DRY GROUND ,, so in some mud in this video, and Jeep not skidding , the F350 has less than 7200 resistance looks like
mud makes the blocks work even better because they can really dig in. he was closer to 20klb of force on that winch from the sound of it on the start of the pull
No wonder he's stuck!!! 4 low is NOT for the mud and Will cause only 3 tires to spin!!!! Get it in 4 Hi and watch all 4 tires eat. Some people have No business with 4x4's and damn sure need to keep them on the pavement until they learn how to properly operate and drive them!!!!!
I think the added technical details and in-video editing showing arrows and circles is great. Well done.
Agreed, well done and thank you for pointing out that you did not attach to the ball hitch.
Those Scotch blocks are genius, and so simple that everyone with a winch should have those

I use an 8x8 Argo for stuff like this. Never too soft and with a big mower engine, it will run all day long on 8 gallons. Also floats.
Snatch blocks rule. Everyone should know and understand them!
That's a good business you running there everyone gets stuck you need the proper equipment and I think 🤔 you have it 😉😉😉😉😉
Good one. 2017 F350 Super Duty SRW- 6,653 pounds
That's gas engine you can add several hundred lbs for the diesel.
Putting out more cable to start with on the double-line pull makes it a lot easier on your winch. . love the vids

Gotta love them low profile wide street tires
The Ford is easily 9600 lb too a 4600 lb jeep good call on the dubble up..
sorry not a technical question what kind of bug spray do you use the skeeters must be wicked lol
That's actually a really good question!
Truck is close to 8,500 lbs...pull depends on the ground & how much the driver spins the tires...😅😅
When you get the combine stuck when do you stop trying to get it out
This is why i stopped muddying . You get stuck you ruin your truck and then i have to call my daddy to get me out 😂yup !
I wish you would of recorded them hitting the entrance 😂😂😂
Your Gladiator is amazing,i think your tires help you a lot.
7000lbs and you have to pull it till the tires quit spinning.
The only thing those lifted F-350 are good for are cruising the parking lots of Winn-Dixie. Never for mudding....
I bet with all the know it all's down here you get a steady stream of people telling you what you do wrong, so I'll just say nice work!
The fords curb weight is about 6300 lbs
How far to pull depends on the situation
My drw single cab f350 with an 11 ft flatbed is 8100 I’d say 9k for this truck mentioned
Three trucks. Dang chaching $$$
I believe you need to pull them till they aren't stuck, whether that's a foot or 20ft. I believe that 350 was twice your weight
The first F-350 weighs about 7,400 lb....give or take. My Gas 2002 F-250 CCLB 4WD weighs 6,100 lb.....
I have a stock 24’ Duramax 2500 diesel short bed 4x4 and it’s 8,200lbs
I noticed that people try to drive out as you winch. Spinning the tires the whole time digging in as you pull. If they let you pull only and just roll the tires you could get on top faster.

You probably have to pull them out twice the length of their vehicle because a lot of them keep their tires spinning. Lol
maybe 10,000 lbs and at least 1 truck length past where he sunk in
Those F-350’s are good for the road, but they suck in the mud. Hey are too big and heavy and that long wheel base doesn’t help any.

F350 weighs in around 8k, need length of truck or all wheels on solid ground

On the door frame it will say, but I think it is at about 11,000lbs. He will need at least 20ft - the length of the truck.
A buddy got a dodge he said 11 thousand on his. I do know last year it got stuck twice where 1/2 tons were not even in 4 wheel drive.

Jeep is roughly 3/4 the weight of the truck, with those tire you had to move the Jeep at least once

8k for the 350, maybe 6500-7k for your jeep with all the mods and equipment
