Everyone I thank you for praying to our little island Maria may have taken alot from us but what it can't take away from us is our spirit of recovery. Right now a big portion of our island has been energized and things are starting to get back to normal. Again I and every single human being living in Puerto Rico thank all of you for your support have a good day everyone.
PR is a commonwealth state and should get the same aid that any mainland state would.

We spent 5 days in Puerto Rico and just flew back Tuesday night before the storm. We're so happy the storm didn't affect them 🙏 We'll be posting our Puerto Rico vlog in the next week or two. The people we met were amazing!
0:17 I used to work in that building where they're filming from, thats the parking lot of the second floor and I used to work at Marshalls in the first floor right underneath where this person's recording this. That place being shown was a local hangout us employees liked to go to after work, and one of the employees actually lived on the house next to this, a sweet old lady around 60+ years old who was like everybody's grandma, she lived there with her disabled husband. I actually helped her paint her house a year before all of this happened, they must have been terrified.
2:06 My dad used to work around here, if you take a right turn on that glassy building on the right side you'd reach his former company. He passed away 3 months before the hurricane hit and though I miss him Im glad he never got to see his beloved island as ravaged and destroyed as it was, and in some parts even still is.
It’s been 6 years. I lost my home and I lived with my grandma for a year. Though it’s been years this hurricane happened this marked me for life.
Almost 4 years and seeing footage of it still makes me nauseous. The aftermath was so horrible.
Praying to all of them. I pray for our country us won't get hit by this storm. We had more than enough this year

Maybe the term "Destroyed" does not apply here, battered yes, damage yes, but I as a Puerto Rican and with family in the island, do not like that term "Destroyed", , Puerto Ricans are resilient people, strong, and they will rise up, we always do, my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery and for the safety of everyone in the island, including a prayer for Mexico as they are dealing with their own disaster as well.

I live in Puerto Rico… I turned 7 I week before it hit.. it was my it rst big storm/ hurricane it was terrible. I had my bday party on November.. Nothing happens to my family or house but it did flood a bit.. I was without light until the start of October.. me and all of my family recovers but there is still people recovering 5 years later..
I was 9 when I happened, I was staying at my grandparents house luckily I didn't experience a lot cuz I was asleep.

I'm in Puerto Rico. The Governor shutdown the cellphones system, and power internet at 1:40AM hours BEFORE Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico which was around 6:45AM.
He accepted FEMA money to hire Citizen Disaster Relief Workers. He REFUSED to distribute the money to the Municipalities. The union for the truck drivers REFUSED to deliver the many shipping containers loaded with for, medical supplies and the spare parts to restore electricity and water. They want 50 dollars an hour to deliver the containers.
Yes Many areas are devastated. But the Governor worsen the entire crisis. Even Satellite phones were down for a while. All that food on the docks and people are being forced to eat MREs.
This entire crisis requires a Federal Grand Jury Investigation!

The day i was 5 years old, The day i was woken up by loud winds outside,The day we lost the front tree infront of our house,The day we ran out of power for 2 weeks and water,The day i will never forget (rip all of thos who had died in this terrible hurricane that hit the island that gave life to me)

We got flooding, building completely destroyed, people left homeless, power out for weeks now and we are no where close to getting it turned on and we have no way off the island!! Puerto Rico got flooding and a few roofs being torn off, no where near what St Thomas or Tortola is going through right now. Send your prayers to Puerto Rico if you want but send some to the us Virgin Islands please!!
keisha richards Yes it's very bad. Landslides, collapsed bridges, areas that have never flooded before, They say expect to be without light for 4-6 months or more. They have to rebuild the power lines from scratch. There are worst images. They are all over Facebook and Instagram.
