I mean, yes, the original Exorcist is a far superior film by a long shot but that being said, I still think they made her look more demonic, more...malicious in this sequel. It's like in the first film she looks very ill and battered but in this film she almost looks like the living dead.
Well, Linda Blair refused to wear the make up again, so they used another actress for that (I think she was in the first movie too, actually she's the one that puke 😆😆). The only time you see Linda as a possessed Regan is when the demon turns into her hot version, later in the movie 😆😆
If it's a "flashback" of sorts, why isn''t she wearing the same night gown as in the original film? They couldn't get the bed to look the same? C'mon! These are easy fixes ... unless i"m not understanding something.
This sequel is awful but someone else says they like it then just accept it, everyone has different opinions and everyone is entitled to like whatever they want. Being toxic to them is just not nice.
There are some good ideas within The Heretic and some of the visuals are great, but the script is poor and the whole thing feels messy and mixed up. People wanted a straight up sequel - a repeat of the original of someone being possessed and then the big battle between the Exorcist and the demon, but that's not what happened so essentially anything was going to be a disappointment compared to the original.
The only saving grace of the movie was Linda was coming of age, and was looking pretty 🔥 Then she went on to make blockbusters such as Roller Boogie, Hell Night, Chained Heat, Night Patrol, Savage Streets, Red Heat, and Nightforce. Again, looking smoking hot in all of them, even plumped up a little, schwing!
This movie is a complete disappointment compare to the Exorcist 1973. Is too bad the director or whoever fault it was. Released this movie with such high expectations with so little imagination to what could've been if he had taken the time or chosen better when he was editing the film
Oh God I just imagined how it would look if this scene really came up in the original Exorcist - not only is the quality different; suddenly there's a wardrobe, a skyline behind the window, and a completely different Regan with different pajamas and a different voice, going "Heeeeh". The scared audience would go from "Oh my God how creepy!" to "Wtf is this" in a second. Hopefully we won't get another version with that scene, this would be Boorman's Cut (after the famous Director's Cut), and not only "the version you've never seen before" but also the one you don't want to see 😋😉

If you don't compare it to the first one and just watch it for what it is, it's actually a brilliant sequel that brings a lot of new ideas to the table. That's the problem with this movie..... everyone expected a rehash of part 1 and it didn't happen.
The should never have shown the other actress playing young Regan. The back or the side, but not the front... its too obvious and looks hilariously bad at times.
