WOW! What a great TEDx Talk!! Keep pushing, Janice! You both have a way of making the presentation easy to listen to, while offering a viable alternative to energy issues around the globe. Badass!

+davechenderson Thank you Dave! Our goal was for a 10 year old to be able to understand it, an adult to be entertained by it, and anyone of any age would be empowered to build one!

Love it!! Why haven't more people jumped on this amazing idea? I have about 20 hens and have really started resourcing all these amazing ideas and I'm in love!!! Simple and back to nature. Who knew!!!

Nice idea if the design wasn't flawed. The only way the fertilizer will exit is if the liquid is halfway up the feeding tube since liquid finds its own level. The fertilizer outlet needs to be much lower and probably coming out of the side near the top.

The bulk container used in the video has a volume of 1000 liters, right?

What about gas pressure? Can you tell how much gas is produced and when it can be used, when it should be used to prevent the top valve blowing? Are there any books on this that you recommend?

The top valve won't blow off unless you have a completely closed system. As the pressure builds it pushes the fertilizer out into a bucket, or in my case at home, a 55 gallon drum.

Anyone at a TED talk: "Something something Kenya [or any country in Africa, or the word urban]."
Producer: "Quick. Get a shot of those blacks. Yeah. Hold the camera there. Good. They love this I bet. They're so grateful for white people. We're such good people. Warms my heart."

How much gas in that container

"Do this at home," she said, as her lawyer returned her retainer fee and cut all ties with her. Methane (CH4) is a volatile hydrocarbon, stupidly flammable when mixed in the air, and I'm sure you have air around your home. This container full of CH4 has an energy equivalent to about 9 kilograms (kg) of TNT. A bleak perspective on that figure: on December 11, 2016 a terrorist in Cairo used 12 kg of TNT on a church, killing nearly 30 and injuring about 50. Also, CH4 is _colorless and odorless,_ meaning you cannot detect a leak on your own, posing asphyxiation risk.
Yes. CH4 is a great fuel. But it is also worth having professional help. Don't simply, "Do this at home." Jesus Christ...

This might well be a useful idea, but I resent it being presented by two silly women and an infantile presentation. Get a man to do it and let's have some proper data and not anecdotal info.
