I just got the dji phantom vision 2 + today. Gonna take it for a spin tomorrow. Should i just go with it as it is for the first time or activate the naza M mode ? First flight ever with a drone btw :p
I have a question, so when you purchase the phantom, the left switches do nothing? I would prefer home lock. Once I change that in the settings and I'm flying all I have to do is hit the switch if I'm disoriented and that pulls it back? Also in fail safe mode can you regain control of it?
Justin...I'm still confused about something. You said you didn't recommend using "Failsafe"...you'd rather just shut off the transmitter. I was under the impression if you shut off the transmitter, sure, the drone will return to home, but, it will come ALL THE WAY back and not give you a chance to take control until it sets down and shuts off but with "Failsafe", you at least have the ability to regain control at any time you want... for example if it begins to land in a stream or hit a tree on the way down, etc. So, am I way off base on this or what?
Art Bowen Yes I see a lot of people use failsafe just to being it home and land. I would only use this in a desperate situation. By the way you can turn back on the radio and gain control afters its on a few secs. Also I don't like RTH on a switch just because if its hit on accident on the ground it can fly off the ground and in the air really fast if your not ready for it.

Over the last month or so since I got my PV2+ I've posted lots of questions for different, self proclaimed "Phantom-Pros"...you are the only one who actually took the time to answer a question. If I can take advantage of that for one minute to ask one more simple question. For the first 5 or 6 flights of my PV2+, my gimbal worked perfectly keeping a perfect video on all axis' but Since 2 days ago, I noticed the gyro in the gimbal worked forward and backwards to keep the video squared but when I rock the drone left and right, either in flight or just holding it in my hand after turning it on and connecting to the app, the gimbal lags by about a quarter second thus giving an unstable picture. Do you have any suggestions for me on how to get it to go back to being spot on with any movement like it used to do.
how do you get ride of a message says photo connection failed. and bindind comes up with wifi repeater connection failed? thanks..any number to call thanks
If the Phantom V2+ is configured with the NAZA-M mode options, so that the middle and lower switch positions of S1 and S2 are both active, does the RH switch S1 still have to be moved up-and-down 5 time or more as part of the calibration process, assuming that you plan to fly in the baseline Phantom GPS mode, with both S1 and S2 in the upper position?
Thanks for the tutorial! Quick question. Why does Naza M mode make it harder to hover? When I was in phantom mode it seemed to hover a lot better. Is there a way to improve this in Naza mode?
Cameron Rich ATTI is better for people trying to get smooth filming pans while flying. GPS limits a smooth pan while flying. I wouldn't fly in Manual until you practice without the camera on the aircraft.

Very good explanation, I was curious about the NAZA M mode. So does this mean that Home Lock and Course Lock do not work in Phantom mode?

Art B calibrate your gimbal in the same dji assistant and you can even adjust the tilt in same assistant

Yes but not fully up and down just only top and middle at least 5x so you can do the Gps lock “dance “

I have it on failsafe and not Manuel if that helps. I guess I can try atti mode but it drifts more?
