Grim could take a serial killer. No question. I love how he's walking into empty rooms in spooky houses with his tail held high indicating just how happy he is. He really has such a good life with you guys.
I'm quite surprised the buildings were never completely stripped of materials for new projects given the difficulty and expense of getting supplies to Svalbard
I like that, unlike in a lot of other content creators, we can actually see the sights and places you explore in your films. I have never been to Svalbard, but thanks to you, I feel like I've seen so many cool places. Thank you Cecilia, always pleasure to watch and looking forward for more.
She really does a good job of sharing the history and depth of Svalbard as being more than just an arctic island in the far north. There's so many hidden gemstones there!
You are one of the best storytellers! I love all your videos they are so full of information and your life that I truly love watching! So entertaining and relaxing at the same time! Thank you Cecilia and Christoper, and the cutie Grimm! 💕 Love from the USA NY
Grim’s demeanor said all was well in the building. He’s showing great confidence, and he clearly adores you!! He would keep you safe, no question about it💪💯❤️
"Lonely, abandoned houses" is a really good descriptor. I've often thought that about houses, especially ones that looked like they were loved and well cared-for in the past. I imagine what it would feel like, to have years (or even generations) of life lived in them, all the ups and downs, children playing, holidays, birthdays, meals being cooked, and then suddenly just stillness and loneliness, left alone to slowly decay and die.
I love watching Grim enjoying every trip you make, not scared of anything, just enjoying life! He definitely has an amazing life, I am jealous hahaha. I love your videos so much, they relax me so much and makes me forget about my anxiety and stress I have everyday!
I think this is the best and most cinematic video you have made so far.The music is perfect and the scenes of Christofer looking back through the doorway made me laugh out loud, as did your ghost story references. I loved it, thanks x
What makes places like this even more sad is the fact that people didn't really choose or want to work in them. During Soviet times you could not just move around and decide your job... Hope in this case those people did actually get paid that much, that amount during those times was huge and would have made people want to move there at least for awhile, but it was also not uncommon to never receive your pay...
they did get paid, look it up on russian youtube chanels, people that worked there got 3 times more then those on main land, my geography teacher used to work above arctic circle in 70s and 80s, , he was paid good money, and then the colapse came, so he became a teacher , alcoholic, with memories of his past , it is sad though
I wonder if there are any old movies showing how things looked in its “hey day”? That would be really interesting. I find all that exploring fascinating. It is beautiful there. Grimm looks so cute tuckered out. Thanks
I just love Grim so much-he is so stinking adorable! Thank you so much for taking us along to the ghost town-that was so cool and interesting to me. I dont know why that didn't cross my mind, even with her having mentioned them. That would be a frightening encounter. They're gorgeous, but I know they can also be deadly. I wouldn't want them to have to face such a potentially bad situation, and have to protect themselves. I know that would be a very unfortunate encounter. I can tell they care very much about the eco system and the animals.
Love the spooky and desolate ambience of this place. Reminds me of remote places in Alaska I've been to. These far northern towns where almost no one visits, kind of eerie but amazingly beautiful. And a calm and peacefulness like no other 😍😊👍
This is one of your best videos Cecilia! I love that you included the historical information. What a great adventure! Thank you for sharing. Much love to you, Christoffer and Grim 🤎🐾
Awww, I loved how fearless Grim is, especially in those rooms that wouldn’t have looked out of place in “The Hills Have Eyes”! Wow, such a gorgeous place, I love how beautiful the decay is, it would be amazing to see the autumn kick in there, thank you both as always! 🤗
That video was incredible!! Thanks for showing us these places. You're an amazing story-teller. The RUclipsrs Kara and Nate were in Svalbard after their cruise to the North Pole, I was hoping you two would connect.
I've seen their film about Svalbard and the cruise and was annoyed for the whole time they didn't do justice to the beauty of nature, especially on Svalbard. All you can see in their films is just themselves and their faces with the ocassional flash of a polar bear. While watching K&N I was constantly thinking "Cecilia would have done it better!".
I'm surprised the bears haven't taken up residence in these homes during the winter. I guess it's too cold for rodents. This gives off Silent Hill vibes for sure. But I love it! Great video!
I've enjoyed your last boating video and this one very much beautiful views on the sea. Cole's Bay abandoned mining cabins look untouched and you get a feeling of realness . Both you and Christoffer were good at pointing out interesting features: doors of leather to keep in the heat, the kitchen, heating of the water by a fire in a barrel to take a bath , old newspaper. What was very uncanny was the jacket still hanging up and the orange bed cover that I agree looked nice. Oh and the hand print on the wall eerie ! It was fascinating ! I would love to visit Svalbard during autumn to view the gorgeous pink and orange sky. Enjoy the autumn in Svalbard.
Grim looked so cute when he was sleepy on the sofa. It's already autumn for you? My favorite season! We still have around 26-30 degrees Celsius where I live... I hate hot and humid September weather. I love cool and crisp autumn weather better!
Yet again, another beautifully scenic video!! I never get sick of seeing the stunning places in and around where you live, I'm in complete envy😍 One thing I wondered, how do dogs like Grim's friends manage living in such a cold climate? Grim and Fenris are obviously built for living in the cold, but the other dogs I've seen in your videos are short-haired dogs so they have little protection against the cold, snow and ice. I'm just interested how their owners keep them toasty warm outside (we put dogs in coats in the quintero here in the UK which isn't close to how cold it gets there!😄
I love all of your videos, but the historical ones are particularly fascinating for me as I am a historian and genealogist. I also worked as an archaeology assistant for several years in the field and lab. Thank you so much for sharing this part of Svalbard.
It's easy. Visited in 2013 August for not a lot of money with direct flights from OSL with Norwegian. But will probably cost a lot more now. The excursion trips are a must, but mine got cancelled due to choppy seas which nearly flung us out of the boat.
@@EinkOLED "Easy" is definitely not what it would be for me, it would take 35 hours and involve 3 flights lol. But perhaps realistic if I could extend the layovers enough to be able to properly rest, at least between the first 2 flights. Really expensive though, the flight alone is as much as a whole week in the Caribbean.
Oh my how I LOVE this beautiful excursion. As I watched - the time frozen living quarters and place that time forgot - it is all So Beautiful! When Christopher opened one of the interior doors and went in first, an overwhelming sentiment came over me of this: that man loves you Cecilia. Thank you for showing all this beauty to us in the way that you do.
I love that Christopher is sitting outside in a short sleeve. It has been so interesting and magically watching your videos this summer as your summers are so cold. Seeing you work outside, boat, etc in long sleeves with ear warmers is so fascinating. I am Canadian and we get the minus 40 winters in my area with a ton of snow, but the summer gets into the 20's and sometimes the 30's (which to us is disgustingly hot). It's already cooling off quite a bit at night, with it being 7 degrees the last two nights and about 18 during the day. I am not looking forward to the short days but I am looking forward to being able to sleep comfortably again!!
I gotta admit, I thoroughly enjoy videos like this. There are other RUclips channels that feature abandoned cities, buildings, etc, but I really like how you navigate the buildings and how you narrate things. Great job Cecilia!
Recently started watching your channel. I have been binge watching your videos.. I find Svalbard calm, breathtaking place. The music you incorporate with videos I absolutely ❤️. I'm definitely hooked. Blessings to you and your family
Just absolutely phenomenal. That bridge though.. 😳! Once I saw the laid back & chill Christoffer hit the turbos, walking faster no other proof of sketchy needed😅
That looks an amazing place. I love discovering Svalbard through your videos. It's definitely somewhere I'd like to visit, as I'm sure many others do, thanks to your channel.

Hi Cecilia Blomdahl. Please make a video about your journey to and living in Svalbard. I'd really like to know about your preparations and the laws of moving to Svalbard. Finance, passport, and everything needed
Cecelia, the sunset shots are the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen, gasp, just no words for the mystical beauty of Svalbard. Such a deep feeling of peace. Loved your video and seeing you, Christoffer and Grim having fun - I don't do horror flicks but that house/buiding was scary and that room with the interesting blankets on the made bed looked like someone still living there! Very glad no polar bear encounter!
Love this spooky 👻 video! Are you sure no one is living there? That small made up bedroom and hanging jacket says otherwise 👀 Great video and thank you for sharing it with us ! BTW: I love how Grim shows no fear, just a wagging tail of curiosity💗
Yes, I agree. I immediately thought that someone had been staying there occasionally. Maybe just a photographer or naturalist, since there are no homeless camps or wandering hobos on Svalbard. And in such a high trust place, you could do that, just leave your stuff there, and know that anybody who came by (like Cecilia) wouldn't take anything.
You successfully spooked me. I kept expecting something to jump out especially in the room that looked like someone lives there. Thank you for sharing this beautiful ghost town.
Thank you Cecilia and Christoffer! This was such a lovely, fun video. I think the least appealing part of exploring old buildings is that awful smell. Hard describe, but it is something unnatural and objectionable. It makes you anxious about safety. How can that air be okay to breathe? Christoffer is a great partner to go first and make sure everything is safe!
My first thought was polar bears after seeing Kokh's incredible photos of an abandoned meteorological station in the Russian artic being taken over by polar bears. Probably many have already seen these as they've made an internet sensation. Perfect timing as we head into Halloween season & gorgeous scenery. I can't start my Sunday until I watch one of your vlogs!
Amazing! Just absolutely amazing! I love your life and the adventure' s you two get to go on! Cheers! P.S. In my head the pillow says "Home is where the dog is"😂
This is really a great video, visuals, music, Christopher, etc. You've gotten *so* good at this... Question: Couldn't you use the drone to look for the polar bear?🤔
I would have been digging through those buildings, through all those drawers of items left behind. Wow, this place is my cup of tea! What a beautiful place! The sunset is incredible. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Cecilia, with all of your video-photographic experience have you ever thought about making a full length movie? You certainly have the imagination to write a script for a work of fiction and you seem to know a lot of the history of Svalbard to create a documentary. Coles Bay could be the perfect location for filming a horror film from your worst nightmare or a history of the area from a Russian's perspective. BTW, when you were panning around the bay with your boat in the distance, I half expected to see a polar bear doing a little jig on the back deck in celebration of finally finding a heated boat he could sleep on this winter! Polar Bear Party Boat!
I love your videos.. They're all so wholesome and I love to start my day watching with a cup of tea. This video combined your videos with one of my favorite things - urban exploration. Loved it! Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise! I can't wait for the next one! 💜
Your videos always leave my heart ♥️ filling so warm and like someone has given me a nice hug .🫂 Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful adventures…….🍃🧡😊🧡🍃

Very glad no polar bear encounter!
Love this spooky 👻 video!
Are you sure no one is living there? That small made up bedroom and hanging jacket says otherwise 👀
Great video and thank you for sharing it with us !
BTW: I love how Grim shows no fear, just a wagging tail of curiosity💗
Grim doesn't watch horror films
A year late but I do agree with you. The jacket and made up bed say otherwise. 😂😂
Perhaps one of my favorite videos you’ve done.
You always record such beautiful scenery, but this video was unbelievable! So stunning!
Love everything about the video. The music, the views, the storytelling! I'm soo glad I found this channel! Thanks for sharing!!
As always your music choices enhance the mood!
You described perfectly the feelings and atmosphere of the place! Thank you for sharing! Impressive scenaries!
Amazing! Just absolutely amazing! I love your life and the adventure' s you two get to go on! Cheers!
P.S. In my head the pillow says "Home is where the dog is"😂
Bless your family, bless your boat, bless your dog . It·s nice to be reminded of what·s worth living for .
Ooooh, the colours!!! 😍❤🍁🏞🌅
Thank you for the "cool" video. It's 109 degrees right now where I live in Southern California. The coolness of Svalbard is very appealing!
Your videos are so very peaceful and satisfying.
Absolutely gorgeous landscape!
Loving the autumn colors and the vibe - Cecilia is kicking off Spooky season! 🍂🍁👻🎃
What colors?
This is really a great video, visuals, music, Christopher, etc. You've gotten *so* good at this... Question: Couldn't you use the drone to look for the polar bear?🤔
I would have been digging through those buildings, through all those drawers of items left behind. Wow, this place is my cup of tea! What a beautiful place! The sunset is incredible. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Another beautiful Svalbard adventure, what a great start to my Sunday 😊
this is amazing! thank you so much for your content Cecilia! ❤️❤️
Oh my gosh, I remember Cecelia talking about polar bears climbing onto people's boats, I'd forgotten she said that! Good imagination!
Absolutely brilliant video & music was beautiful! Well done
So peaceful. I'm a bit envious as I look out the window of my condo in a big North American city at the parking lot. Grim was right tuckered out.
Great video Cecilia, thank you for showing us this beautiful place! 🧡
