They have just haven't released this show again in our modern times with better footage and sound. But they can do it if they really want to. This is one of those things that can make more hardcore fans frustrated, there are a few show like this, that can be released in better quality and with better sound, actually there are bootlegs with better sound of this concert. But of course record companies or management or Brian and Roger, whoever, would rather release more greatest hits packages. But of course that is just the type of struggles you get between big fans and the commercial side. This was Freddie's ballet stage, he was wearing a leotard and ballet slippers. They have shortened the Millionaire Waltz, in this performance, it is not such a short song. Roger hated the song Your My Best Friend. I like to work out whos job it is during the mprovised/jam sessions to pull it all back together. During the Rock part Millionnaire Waltz it's Rogers drums. Remember, this is before radio earpieces & don't know if anyone has been on stage but when speakers are projecting sound forward it is difficult to hear what's going on sometimes. The pictures a bit dark, but Freddie has to turn his head to watch for Rogers 'signal' to get back to the song.

You’re a damn rock and roll band!!! Lol. There’s the full version live of that song with John playing the electric piano. Freddie didn’t like electric pianos so John took it home and taught himself to play it for this song!! Freddie sure could play that piano and he didn’t think he was very good at it!!! Great video. That happened to be the concert that I was trying to scrape enough money together to fly there and see them. They weren’t in the US that often and I wanted to go so bad, however, things didn’t gel together and it wasn’t meant to be. I remember being so upset. Tickets back then were $7.50!!!!! Now I’ve heard concerts are $300-$500!!!!! There’s another reason for the phrase “Good Ole Days”!

You're My Best Friend, like so many other Queen songs, feels like it's been a part of life forever. Pops up in the most interesting places. Just the other day, the opening notes of Under Pressure were played as a news station went to commercial. I watched an interview with Brian May a while back where he said Freddie had his own style of piano playing. He often hit the keys like a drummer. I notice that in some performance more than others. Maybe it was his innate sense of timing. Whatever the reason, it's awesome.
Deaky is a fantastic song writer- he was just shy. I’ve read that Freddie took Deaky under his wing and took care of him. They were very close. Deaky also invented the Deaky Amp which helped give Brian’s home made guitar its fabulous sound.
“You’re my best friend” was written by John Deacon he wrote it for his wife after they got married! And the song “spread your wings” was also written by John Deacon!!
Speaking of their great transitions - you should react to how they do it live at Wembley, 1986 Sat night, with We Will Rock You going into Friends Will Be Friends. Brian does an amazing flow into the next melody. If you have a couple extra minutes, the We Are The Champions is right after that which is the show closing song and it has what I want you to really see when the song is at the ending. You won’t be disappointed.
John Deacon wrote, "Your My Best Friend" for his wife, Veronica (and yes, they are STILL married even after 6 kids). Freddie always encouraged John to write. John favored soul music and Freddie loved the Motown vibe John brought to his compositions. The story is John wrote the song at home. It seems that Freddie didn’t like the electric piano (and refused to play) that they had in their studio so John took it home and taught himself to play the piano. He claimed the song just magically came out of the piano while he was learning to play it. On the recording, John plays the electric piano and he always felt it sounded best when played on it but, Freddie absolutely refused to ever play an electric piano.
I also wanted to tell you on the Time video reaction that Freddie also did a song for the show called In My Defense, which is a beautiful song. There’s a video of it.
One of the only Queen songs that I prefer the studio version to the live version is You're My Best Friend. It loses a lot without John playing the electric piano. The official video is beautiful. You must react to it, too and compare. Freddie wore his harlequin leotard for the 1977 tour and before that a white leotard for the beginning of the show and black leotard for the end of the show on the Night at the Opera and Day at the Races tours. He got a lot of grief from the critics for his leotards at the time. Fans loved it. I'm sure you have heard You're My Best Friend before because it was a huge hit in 1976, the 2nd single from A Night At the Opera, and is still played on the radio today. Roger thought the lyric "happy at home" wasn't rock and roll enough. lol.

There’s the full version live of that song with John playing the electric piano. Freddie didn’t like electric pianos so John took it home and taught himself to play it for this song!!

Great video. That happened to be the concert that I was trying to scrape enough money together to fly there and see them. They weren’t in the US that often and I wanted to go so bad, however, things didn’t gel together and it wasn’t meant to be. I remember being so upset. Tickets back then were $7.50!!!!! Now I’ve heard concerts are $300-$500!!!!! There’s another reason for the phrase “Good Ole Days”!
The Funko PopRock dolls include four editions of Freddie, in different costumes. One of them is that harlequin suit. They have the rest of the band too. I bought a set & gave it to my son.

So fun! And brand new to me. Thank you, Allan. So nice to see John Deacon move up the steps to center stage in front of the drums for this. Felt unusual to me, don't know if it was. You're My Best Friend, like so many other Queen songs, feels like it's been a part of life forever. Pops up in the most interesting places. Just the other day, the opening notes of Under Pressure were played as a news station went to commercial. I watched an interview with Brian May a while back where he said Freddie had his own style of piano playing. He often hit the keys like a drummer. I notice that in some performance more than others. Maybe it was his innate sense of timing. Whatever the reason, it's awesome.

Great combo. This was a great tour for them. Detroit 77 is really good, but it’s only audio. But the quality is excellent & the boys are on fire.
Oh and I notice the cover for this video looks like it belongs on a can of green beans. Maybe that’s just me. 😂😂😂😂

Deaky is a fantastic song writer- he was just shy. I’ve read that Freddie took Deaky under his wing and took care of him. They were very close. Deaky also invented the Deaky Amp which helped give Brian’s home made guitar its fabulous sound.

Speaking of their great transitions - you should react to how they do it live at Wembley, 1986 Sat night, with We Will Rock You going into Friends Will Be Friends. Brian does an amazing flow into the next melody. If you have a couple extra minutes, the We Are The Champions is right after that which is the show closing song and it has what I want you to really see when the song is at the ending. You won’t be disappointed.
John Deacon wrote, "Your My Best Friend" for his wife, Veronica (and yes, they are STILL married even after 6 kids). Freddie always encouraged John to write. John favored soul music and Freddie loved the Motown vibe John brought to his compositions.
The story is John wrote the song at home. It seems that Freddie didn’t like the electric piano (and refused to play) that they had in their studio so John took it home and taught himself to play the piano. He claimed the song just magically came out of the piano while he was learning to play it. On the recording, John plays the electric piano and he always felt it sounded best when played on it but, Freddie absolutely refused to ever play an electric piano.
I also wanted to tell you on the Time video reaction that Freddie also did a song for the show called In My Defense, which is a beautiful song. There’s a video of it.

One of the only Queen songs that I prefer the studio version to the live version is You're My Best Friend. It loses a lot without John playing the electric piano. The official video is beautiful. You must react to it, too and compare. Freddie wore his harlequin leotard for the 1977 tour and before that a white leotard for the beginning of the show and black leotard for the end of the show on the Night at the Opera and Day at the Races tours. He got a lot of grief from the critics for his leotards at the time. Fans loved it. I'm sure you have heard You're My Best Friend before because it was a huge hit in 1976, the 2nd single from A Night At the Opera, and is still played on the radio today. Roger thought the lyric "happy at home" wasn't rock and roll enough. lol.
In 45 years I have never heard a good version of Best Friend performed live , by anyone .
The studio version is one of my top 5 favorites ,by any artist, Queen has been my favorite band for 45 years !😃

i have a nice reaction that i can share with you if you like too we go back to 1986 Live Aid concert at Wembley after freddie sung the song This is the world we Created they played 3 songs that roger did not used his drummer and its so cool defferent for me very nice this song was Your So Square Baby I Dont Care.. Mary Luo... and Tuttie Fruttie... followed with the songs Radio Ga Ga.. We Will Rock You roger played very nice... then Friends Will be Friends the lyrics was beautiful too you can watch almost the end of the show this songs was i hope you like it too God bless.. i always watch this everyday..
