@@mysteriousastrolabe after the jaw or zygoma reduction, you need to wait 6 months to a year for the swelling goes down. Then a face/neck lift is performed to address the sagging skin. Very young patients like kylie Jenner who had v line at 18 didn’t need a face lift - her skin most likely retracted due to her very young age. Same with Bella Hadid who also had this procedure. Though many patients in their 20s will need thread lifts or full surgical lifts to address the premature sagging caused by bone shaving.
There's less people searching for this kind of surgery in America. And I think that people that would usually search for it has less payment conditions too.

0:36 the cheekbone surgery part.... is that actually dislocated?? . In order for a fracture to heal, the bones must be held in the correct position and protected....i can understand the other part...being cut and put in the same/correct place, but the cheekbone is misplaced.... can it formed to be normal structure or it will be remain like that?
Bones can heal partially or incorrectly. With a gap or position like that, I'm assuming the consequence is minimum as we don't use the bones there for any practical purpose. Not to mention it's locked down with screws and metal plates to keep it the way it is. So from medical's stand point of view, obviously it'll be best for bones to position it correctly to obtain maximum healing result, and I'm sure the doctor will shave it down to an extent to match it; but even if it doesn't, it wouldn't matter much as I stated before, those cheekbones aren't used for any human day-to-day functional purpose.
Good point! Bone contact is most important part of this surgery. CT is taken 1year later after surgery, bone is healed completely. Because of bone contact surface, amount of bone removal is limited.
Diana Sharon thanks for your explanation. I’d like to add one thing. Masseter muscle is inserted to arch of zygoma and strong power is loaded to the muscle. Because of it, bone contact and secure fixation is important.
So how does the bone suppose to heal and connect to eachother when there are plates and screws there replacing the incision of bone removal ? And the bone does serve a purpose. Atrophy is a risk with jaw surgery. Without connecting the bone together there are risk and it isn’t minimal. Does these plates and screws come with tube or something that allow the bones somehow to connect? Cux the bone healing over it doesn’t make much sense if they can’t connect to eachother directly in its proper alignment that it was design to connect. Idk. Maybe someone can help me answer this concern I have with the jaw surgery.
@@khidrjami 1st, we have plenty of surgeries that involves metallic objects, e.g. spinal, knee-related surgeries. So healing's not an issue. Human body's more amazing than you think. Our cells will know what to do. 2nd, Atrophy won't be a risk to the majority given how most patients can utilize their muscles 1-3 months post op. In addition, please do keep in mind that you're not changing the infrastructure of how your jaw works, but simply reducing the size/shape/width/length of it. Hence, you'll still be biting the same way except having different lengths of range of motion.

Yong Kyu Kim Thank you very much :)
I‘m ready to risk it all for beauty i swear!
Imagine having a punch in the face by a strong dude after that surgery .
Are those screws gonna set off a metal detector
Probably not since it didn't when I had braces
No, i have them, they never have xD
@@Evelinaa did you have these kind of jaw surgery? was it too painful???
2:27 woah so scary the bone is literally being cut into pieces
I think I'll keep my oversized chin and stupid wide jaw instead of going this route! What an excellent animation though.
ouch my bones hurt from watching this
My jaw is outer, and when I face left or right/side view, it looks bumpy. But damn, watching this made me appreciate myself from not trying to consider it. It looks so painful, and might even cause some problems in the near future
How much do you need to hate yourself to go through something like this?
Unless you have some serious health problem involving your teeth and jaw, why would anyone do this? People around the world are getting crazier every day, and South Korea is trying to take a leading role in that direction.
Southeast Asia is an ape😂
Giselle of aespa definitely got this surgery
@@dejavu6514right..i dont know why but she's the first person who came into my mind while watching this 😬
@@Bestiola exactly. I just got facial contour and I don't see the big deal. It's a personal choice. It's not hurting anyone. I dont get why people are so anti-plastic surgery.
I need all the surgery that is shown here.
jump and do a flip.
This looks so painful... like you must have life-long problems after this. I only got braces and it messed up the natural way my jaw was, it still forces them ways they just don't go. This has even consequences for your neck and shoulders, they can hurt and become stiff because our body parts are all connected.
And since I got my wisdom teeth, one side of my upper lip feels weird and numb when I apply slight pressure.... and mind you, I'm from Germany, so it has nothing to do with the quality of the doctors.
Just imagine the pain after butchering your whole facial bones...
Maybe you should have had bracers + jaw surgery
@@RoflJoker1994 no thanks 😅
@@ElliKim73 Then I guess you're stuck with whatever issues you're experiencing :P
That actually might not be the braces fault. It sounds like your jaw developed incorrectly. You might need corrective jaw surgery.
Braces aren’t supposed to cause jaw issues. Perhaps you need to find a better dentist, my sister used to go to a dentist that messed up her bite which made her facial structure look bad but then she switched to a better dentist and he did a wonderful job, she’s completely fine now.
I really need V line surgery, zygoma reduction and nose job. My face is ugly and assymetrical, it’s very obvious when you look at the mirror or take a photo. One cheek is bigger than the other, and jaw line is more wide at one side than the other. It sucks 😡
You don't need anything. Learn to love yourself for who you are.

This is very amazing
Once I finish med school I want to go to South Korea to learn everything about those types of procedures and become a great facial surgeon in my country
It could be an art if the surgeon is very skilled and talented, and also has a strong ethical foundation, as otherwise it can be a nightmare for the patient if nerves are damaged or in the worst case scenario severed.

the question here is... how will it affect my life expectancy in the future.... 💀💀 will I die earlier because my face withers away quicker

Fr it sounds scary having your bones held by some wires and screws. Like imagine someone punches you and your cheek bone loosens and your chin falls off ☠️
Edit: I totally forgot your bones will just basically reconnect but it’s still scary knowing they take your face apart and then rearrange it. Surgery risks are also a worry but I don’t know what the effects on your health will be afterwards.
@@jcp5302 you will have the screw and wires for at leats 1-2 month.. no more .. the bone will be health and connect to his position at leats a 6 weeks.. the problem is the nerv.
@@albaniaalbania2326 what's wrong with nerve?

Yeah they forget to mention the lower facel/neck lift you’ll need for the sagging afterwards 🙄
what sagging?🧑🦯🧑🦯 /genuine
@@mysteriousastrolabe when you remove the bone the skin will sag leaving you with jowls, double chin and nasal folds. The only way to correct this is with a lower face/neck lift. Threads may help for mild cases temporarily.

@@mysteriousastrolabe after the jaw or zygoma
reduction, you need to wait 6 months to a year for the swelling goes down.
@@wulfsorenson8859 I see. That was very informative👀
