what length rod would you recommend for this? I just bought an 8'6 medium for trolling based on other's suggestions but it looks like you're using shorter rods. what are your thoughts on rod length for trolling with line counters? also what kind of line are you using? 10# xt?
+diowk when using bottom bouncers through rocks, I like to use seven foot medium heavy action flipping rod as the stiffer rod pops the bottom bouncer out of rocks and snags much better than a softer trolling rod.
Barbless is better. ALL fishing regs. EVERYWHERE should have that stipulation. Doesn't beat up the fish as bad and gives them a chance. I go barbless no mater where I'm fishing. It's more of a challenge. If you can't bring a fish in with barbless hooks ... you don't deserve it.
in wyoming there is a lake/ reservoir called pathfinder that i caught a 11 pounder and a seven pounder
+KH3m_Gemzz nice fish. Have heard a lot about Pathfinder over the years.
Jason Mitchell Outdoors mid spring is a great time to hit it you should plan a trip.

thanks for responding what kind of line and rods do you use
+J.R. V using ten pound Fireline and our Jason Mitchell Elite Series Rods.
Jason, fishing Leech Lake next week, would these be effective there as well?
+Michael Green yes
Thanks for the reply. Thanks for all the content and tips!
What size bouncer
+Jack Anderson we used a lot of three ounce bouncers once we got the hang of what we were doing fishing the rocks.

$20 bargain bin rod, 14 pound braid. Dont need anything expensive for this technique.
