All that to get to a little battery. Guess we should be thankful we don't have to unsolder the CPU too! I will have to follow your excellent video in a couple of weeks as my E7240 is now losing time and date on occasion.
I have a question, if your CMOS battery is dead (or its cables damaged whatever), does it always result in the reset of BIOS settings when the laptop is turned off, even if it is permanently plugged in or has the ordinary laptop battery sufficiently charged in?
Thanks for the video, I don't think I could of done it without following your instructions.

Your video was very helpful, I replaced the battery and stuff. But I think I messed something up, the keyboard stopped working 😔
fixed it! one totally unrelated ribbon was loose, I fixed it and everything is fine now. Thanks!
what a pain in the a##. the 7250 has a simple replacement. ot probably cost $250 to change the dead battery in s $50 laptop.
Less talking, more doing, please
