Crispy Cracklin Cornbread Ingredients:
2 cups Cornmeal Mix
1 1/4 cups whole milk
2 tablespoons Buttermilk Powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup butter, divided (salted or unsalted)
1 1/4 cup crackling, crushed and divided
Honey Butter:
Combine Honey and Butter. Be sure to slightly heat it for a silky smooth finish.
NOTE: Using a cast iron skillet works best. You can use 1 1/4 cups buttermilk instead of the milk and buttermilk powder
I was looking for a channel to help with my remedial cookies abilities. When you say 2 ingredients, you honour that. You are honest, and I understand your instruction well. I am both excited, and fearful of attempting any baking tasks; could work out though. I will give you an update. I truly enjoy and appreciate your talents and instruction. cheers, Ontario Canada!
You got this! Whether cooking or baking just take your time. Always gather all your ingredients first and have them all measured out on the counter. Then begin and just go step by step. You can do it! And thank you so much for your amazing support. I really appreciate it 🙏🏾❤️
@CookingAtPamsPlace BUT Pam how did u get all that knowledge
@@deronlouis88louis52Do you mind if I answer?

Thank you, Ray Mack's Kitchen and Grill! I'm so glad you collaborated with Pam or the algorithms may never have brought her up for me. It's been a couple years but I still appreciate Pam and will check out your channel now, too.
Thank you so much
@@CookingAtPamsPlace The pleasure is all mine. For real. BTW, I commented on Ray Mack's channel, too, and he saw it because he replied. 👍 These days it seems like EVERYTHING comes down to networking and collaboration ...
My mama Always made Crackling Cornbread. Of course she knew how to make homemade Cornbread but later settled on Jiffy. I have a preference for Jiffy because I love the sweetness and ease.
As for the Cracklings... she would put them in a small pot with just enough water to cover them and let them boil until soft. When cooled... she would add them to the Jiffy batter with an egg and vegetable Oil instead of milk as she was allergic to dairy.
The. Cracklings would be Soft and Chewy and Delicous. I make it often. It is Delicious with Greens (Collards and/or Turnips).
Thank you for Sharing your recipe ❤❤❤❤❤
Love you Miss Pam! Thank you for all the great videos!
Oh my, that crackling corn bread looks amazing
And now, after seeing the live, I'm dying for Cornbread 😫 😅
I can relate I just found this at 930p ~ I have ransacked my kitchen & made a list of what I need first thing tomorrow 🤣
My family loves corn bread! I have been making a modified version of Jamaican corn bread for over 40 years. I changed the recipe to 1 orange squeezed instead of pineapple, grate the orange peal into the mix too, and I use clover honey instead of sugar. It's wonderful with soups, chili, and a southern chicken dinner. Oh, and I bake it in a cast iron skillet . 😊
Awesome! My red skillet here is cast iron too thanks
Yummy ❤
This is one of the kindest gestures I have ever heard of. Wow!
I haven't had cracklin' cornbread in YEEE-ARS!!! This recipe looks absolutely amazing!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you
OMGOSH it looks sooooo delicious! Wish it was possible to eat what you fix!!
💜 It brings back good childhood memories!!

I’m here due to the algorithm. I subscribed months ago because I love your faith mixed with cooking, and the tips on cookware and, oh yeah! - the amazing cooking! You are a treasure, Mrs Pam! Thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge, and your love of Christ wrapped up with humor and love! Much love and prayers for continued blessings to you from south Alabama. ❤
More the butter the better!❤
😋😋
Miss Pam I grew up on cracklin cornbread too. Mom's bread had one layer on the bottom. But Im gonna try this version because you're getting more cracklins thru the bread.❤😊
I was getting ready to ask about sweet cornbread, and your crackling cornbread sounds like I'll try it next time I make chili ❤
My Dad made cracklin cornbread when we were young, it is so good. Cracklin is so hard to find now.🤗😘😍😉
Yes it is
I have seen crackling at the Latino/Mexican grocery store or carniceria (butcher). Especially in the Fall and holiday seasons. Good Luck
Yessss, Ms Pam live your life to the fullest and eat what you like when you crave it💯😂😂😂!!!!.
Girl if your recipe has too much butter for some folk , they surely would flip on ours. We grease the cast iron fry pan with fat back grease and drizzle some over the top. Then eat it with a glass of good cold buttermilk 🤣🤣
😂😂🤣
I use bacon grease!
@@annfretz2068 Ah yes the liquid gold of grease!👍
Cold buttermilk with ground pepper on top
Sounds YUMMY!!❤️

I made some crackling cornbread, about a week ago. Yummy yummy
Love me some crackling cornbread it look soooo delish😋😋 tfs!
You go girl!! I'm making this tonight!❤
This video made me miss my grandmother. She would make crackling bread with the same love you put in it. She would also make “Hoe Cakes” with stewed tomato dumplings! In the morning, there was nothing like fried apple pies. She dried apples from her trees and hung them on a string in the kitchen.
Thanks for sharing!
Reminds me of when my grandma used to make cracklin bread when I was a child. She passed when I was 17.
Thanks Ray Mack’s recipe for cornbread.
Louisiana here where gas stations sell the best cracklins. I’ve never seen this. Now I want cracklins.
Miss pam, you make me want to sit down in your kitchen and eat LOL thank you for your recipes I am going to try them add cornbread looks amazing
This is my first time hearing of crackling corn bread, and yours looks delicious! Thank you Pam❤
Yum! That looks amazing, thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.🥰
Just a recipe I've wanted a long time ❤Thanks.
You learn something everyday I never knew there was a difference between pork rinds and kracklins even though I've been eating them forever 🙀😽😋🤗!!!
Ummmmhmmmm lol
I never heard of crackling at all I'm 43 yrs old and this is new to me minus the pork skins and rinds etc
This must be awesome!
You are terrific!!! I always learn something new from you.
Miss Pam, you really know how to take a girl back to her roots. I haven’t had crackling cornbread in decades. Trying to find them in New Jersey is a challenge but I am definitely going to try and find them. Believe it or not, I’d probably have a better change go7n* to the Hispanic grocery stores. Can hardly wait.
I'm getting hungry for some corn bread after watching this video 😋
In my life have i heard of cracklin corn bread. It looks absolutely delicious. You made it with a heart full of love❤
My grandmother used bacon grease instead of butter in the heated skillet. It was awesome and yours looks just as good! ❤❤
Thank you. I’ve used that as well.
Yass. Bacon grease. She kept it by the stove and used it for everything!!!!!
Omg I love Ray Mack's channel also and I'm glad to see you 2 combine your channels, anyway my grandmother mother made crackling biscuits for us for breakfast before we left for school, I don't remember the recipe either didn't pay attention , I'm still looking for the pan fried corn bread my grandmother made no sugar for breakfast and a side for dinner with our main meal 😊😊😊
My mama use to make cracklins when my Pa Pa butchered a hog. I'm for sure going to try your cracklin cornbread! Thank you!!!
😋Looks good..yup..👌🏾
Your hair looks fabulous Ms. Pam!🔥
Thanks so much
This looks so good! I've never heard of crackling until today. I'm going to have to try this recipe. For the sweet and the heat I like to use hot honey on my cornbread muffins.
Wow that looks amazing ❤
Having potato soup tonight. Now have to make cornbread. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy
Looks delicious! My Tenn. mother made this occasionally when she made cracklings. We children are them as a treat. I’ve never made it and she’s not hear to ask..she would omit the sugar in her corn bread😊I’ll certainly try it.
Looks delicious ❤❤❤❤❤
You had me at cornbread!😍 I can't wait to make this.
Hope you enjoy
I learned to make cornbread when I was down South but never had crackling cornbread...definitely going to try this. Like you, I only have one life to live & at this stage of the game, not worried about calories, fat or anything else...I just want to savor the good things in life. Thanks so much for this, Pam!
Thank you for this recipe.
Thanks so much for explaining everything. It really helps. I can’t wait to try this!!!!
I have cornbread on my counter cooling down! Gonna try your recipe next time! Yes on butter! Our recipes are alike other than the cracklin. I put exact same of butter and the butter and honey on top. Yes girl!
Grandma made her own cracklin' when I was a kid-o. But she was also what people refer to as 'Off Grid'. Very little came from a grocery. Mostly the bear essential basics. Milled grains, sugar, pectin, dried fruits, nuts. She still orderd things like mason jars & lids from the Sears catalog. Everything else was home grown or traded for with a few local people. I Honestly was unaware you could buy pre-made cracklin' ! Miss my gram. & her cooking. Wish i had retained more information when cooking with her as a kid. She didn't have to many hand written recipes. Thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you for sharing your light. 🙏HE definitely shines through all you do 🙌
My mother used to make cornbread this way, so good.
" You do you boo," 😂, I love you, Ms. Pam .
People a long time ago didn't hold back on fats. You just eat less and use real ingredients. Fat helps you feel satiated and full. Im making corn bread today 💛. I dont have cracklins, but it's going to be fatty, haha!
That looks amazing.
Love Pam’s recipes.
I'm a New Yorker, I've lived in Florida for ten years and now I'm in Virginia for about two years. Why have I never heard of crackling cornbread. BTW where would I find crackling in the supermarket? Thanks Pam, love all your content, your recipes, your information. Great job! 😊❤
I put the skill on the top of the stove over a medium flame and pour my mixture in - for the crispiest bottom and edges.
When the notification came up, I saw, "Are you ready for Cris." I thought it was going to be for Christmas. 😂 That Cornbread will be great for Christmas with the family. 😊
Sure would lol

Ray Mack is a cool brother and is always looking out for everyone -- a Supah Soul Brother For Sure I attended (online) an evening of ministry and the service was anointed. Soooo yes....I'm already a Ray Mack Fan. BTW, cracklin' aren't easy to find living in a food desert soooo I might have to consider making from scratch. Thanks, Pam, for the inspiration you give.

I remember as a little girl. I'm visiting my grandmother house in Alabama. She used to make this cornbread 😋. Yummy. Thanks for sharing 🥰
I put cracklins in my hot water cornbread also. Goes good withh greens. I always have savedmy bacon grease. My mother did that. Im in my 60s. I season my greens with bacon fat and also it helps tenderize collards. I put in my beans also to soften them if they are old
Ray Mack is awesome!!!! Love both your channels!!!
