Baru kali ini atau selama ini saya memberi komentar sosok seorang Iko Uwais, saya cukup bangga dan memberikan apresiasi setinggi-tingginya atau patut saya acungkan jempol 2 jari yang telah mengharumkan nama perguruannya yaitu PERGURUAN SENI BELADIRI TIGA BERANTAI.
Secara tidak langsung dari sini Iko Uwais meniti kariernya sebagai bintang film bukan saja di Indonesia bahkan sudah kemanca negara didukung oleh ketampanan dari wajahnya. Dan yang perlu diketahui juga Iko Uwais ini punya keturunan tulang yang sangat bagus atau dengan kata lain karena Iko Uwais adalah cucu nya pendiri PERGURUAN BISMILLAH yaitu Bapak Haji Ibrahim (Almarhum)
Bapak Haji Ibrahim, mempunyai murid sebagai pewaris tunggal dari PERGURUAN BISMILLAH yang bernama Bapak Achmad Bunawar (Almarhum) atau yang sering kita dipanggil Bapak Mama. Sebelum mendirikan PERGURUAN SENI BELADIRI TIGA BERANTAI beliau mendirikan PERGURUAN MATEKA singkatan dari, MACAM, TEMBAK DAN SIKARET lalu beliau mendirikan lagi PERGURUAN PANCA SENGGARA sebenarnya guru besarnya Bapak Mama juga. If you look at the beginning of the fight I think he was paying respect to the fight before he begins, it’s like a ritual, or maybe he was apologizing in advance for the brutality he was about to commit
In any case, each one of those blows were meant to kill, he knew exactly were to attack, this wasn’t random, those series of blows were taught to kill.

Maybe they deleted this scene because they didn’t want to reveal internationally the best moves of pencak silat too early, after all this was made in 2009 before the raid and the raid 2

Drinking much Kool aid are we? I learned some neat tricks from Silat but a real fight isn't like a fight choreography.

It’s because they all had the same director and stunt choreographer. That’s why Ikos and Yayans other movies feel a lot different (even though there overall style is mostly the same, definitely not the same feel. Less impactful.)

Adegan ini memang ada di bioskop Indonesia. Gw kebetulan nonton waktu Gareth pertama kali muter versi internasionalnya di Festival Film Fantastik di Jakarta. Selesai itu ada tanya jawab dgn penonton, gw inget waktu itu penonton setuju kalo versi asli yg diputer sebelumnya di bioskop2 Indonesia memang terlalu panjang & sebaiknya dipotong, tapi mereka protes kenapa adegan yg ini dipotong juga. Gareth waktu itu bilang, dia berusaha pertahanin tapi jadinya gak nyambung, jadi terpaksa dipotong.

The story was they were friends from same village met on the bus that went to jakarta. mad dog was more experience with the city with all the dynamics in it (incl the black side of it) and yudha was the naive one. The ending was they splitted due to that different value, and they fought each other at the end. One dead and you can guess who won

This is the shortest and scariest fight scene i have ever seen.
Ohhhh, gua kira ini cuma tempat berantem liar, rupanya ini tempat ngelamar kerja buat jadi semacam bodyguard, yg mau ngelamar mesti bayar dulu 200 ribu terus lawan manusia purba itu. Menang atau kalah gak masalah, yg menilai nanti manusia purba itu siapa yg dirasa pantes buat diterima kerja. Yang ngelamar disuruh bayar 200 rb supaya pas nanti lawan manusia purba itu jadi sungguh2. Sedangkan kalau nggak dipungut bayaran, yg ngelamar takutnya nanti gak sungguh-sungguh berantemnya soalnya seperti yg udah gua bilang, menang atau kalah nggak masalah. Nah itu orang-orang yang dirasa pantes buat diterima kerja diangkut pake truk tadi.

I thought Silat (similar to Karate) was developed during times of war for people to be able to defend themselves, originally focusing on opponents weak spots and physically destroying them. So shouldn’t it be effective? I guess karate has definitely been “weakened” down from its original form for sport purposes so I imagine Silat probably suffered the same fate. Karate and Solar are effective, but maybe it’s just hard to find a school that actually knows the effective way.

In this movie Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhiyan uses Silek Harimau style (Tiger Style Pencak Silat), One of the most deadliest Style of Pencak Silat, it was originated from west sumatera.
Their movement are resembling the technique and philosophy of a tiger. Each movement means to damage all the critical part of your body with fast and grace movement.
This style also used Karambit knife as a symbols of The Tiger Claws.

moh J i think Yayan's character in Merantau is badass anti hero and was forced to fight Iko's character. Unlike the Raid, he is a psychopath but still a badass.
@@joeofmacabre07 Raid 2 he’s not psycho. Just wasn’t the best father figure. Although his ex was trash as well. But other than not being the best Dad because of career choice his character was decent. Just like in this movie he was just using what he knew best to earn a living.
Di film Merantau ini kelihatan dulu masih Gagahnya Yayan n masih muda ya.
Awalnya Iko Wais merantau dari padang k jkt, tpi dia tdk punya saudara d jkt, sampailah ketemu 1kampungnya dan masih 1 perguruan dgn dia yaitu Yayan.
Namun Iko wais akhirnya memilih utk tdk ikut dlm pertarungan, dan memilih menolak tawaran Yayan, nah sejak itulah akhirnya Yayan pun menaruh dendam kpd Iko Wais, hingga pada akhirnya pertarungan antar mereka berdua tdk bisa di hindarkan di kala Iko wais menolong seorang gadis dan adiknya yg hendak di perjualbelikan. Jadi secara tdk langsung Iko wais pun terperangkap dalam dunia gelap itu yg akhirnya dia harus bertarung hingga dia tertancap besi.

Yeah he had to downgrade himself a lot in that. But Donnie Yen didn’t. Caine kinda made me forget Yayan’s character in JW 3. Of course Caine’s character was specifically created to be an equal to John. And you know when Ip Man fights it’s also no joke.

Yeah John did kinda beat him. But that movie is basically Batman without the style and particular gadgets. Also John didn’t have to bare hand fight Maddog, just another assassin from the Wick verse that Yayan portrayed. A big part of that is probably because Yayan had control over choreography in the Raids and Merantau, but not in John Wick. Caine on the other hand…

This scene can only be seen in the original Indonesian version. If you watch the international version, this scene is cut. FYI, the international version of the movie is abt 30 minutes shorter than the original.
