Members of Grwp Garddio Brynberian learn how to plant a fedge with Justine of West Wales Willows. The willow fence will encircle the Peace Flame, a permanent light that local resident Julie Marsden brought to the Canolfan (community centre) in Brynberian at the end of a long distance walk from north Wales in 2018. The community wildlife garden and the little Peace Garden within it have been created in the outside space at the community centre, a former primary school where children grew vegetables and went on nature walks. Called Ysgol Llwynihirion after the farm whose land it was built on, the old building was bought by the community in the 1970s and has recently been renovated thanks to a mixture of grants, donations and fund raising. It stands in a fantastic position overlooking the Preseli Mountains and now looks even better than ever.
