I did the same repair on my '87 CR125. The inlet nipple was completely gone on mine. I machined a replacement from aluminum and epoxied it in place. I also had holes in the clutch area that had to be patched. Two years now with no problems. I have a '91 aluminum cover on the shelf when this one decides to leak again.
Update.........my epoxy repair failed after two years and I've got the seized top end to prove it! If you are running an epoxy patch check all your fluids before every ride. When my clutch cover failed it dumped all of the coolant into the transmission. No outward sign of a problem! It took less than 1/2 a lap at the track to destroy the top end with no coolant in the radiators.
Thanks for the video. Am looking at an '86 right now and the owner has already told me he has water pump issues. Too bad there are no replacements for this setup.
Any news on the engine ice if its corrosive? I've got an 84 and I repaired the water pump already, just want to make sure I'm running the right stuff for the future:)
If you mean seal then yes, oil will be milky looking. If you truly mean the gasket on the cover, no it would just be leaking down the outside of the engine case.
Brian Morrison Check ebey. DG pipes are available. They come with a Exhaust flange that eliminates the. ATAC valve. Real sweet Deal. $200 You may have to raise your Needle. Richer mixture. I ran these Pipes when they first came out. Realy make the Engine turn on.
and so did I, due to your video. please make sure of proper procedure and orientation before you post further how 2. old OEM seals are getting difficult to find.
MIne was installed correctly. Bike ran fine and never leaked. Just because you did it wrong ain't my problem, ass. Take ownership of your own mistakes. How typical in this day and age.
It's a junk repair. If your bike is worth keeping and riding. Do it right. Get a aftermarket cover. Don't listen to this Bullshit. I have a 85 Cr250r and love it.

Does the 91 fit. And will it fit an 86

If you work on any old Polaris ATV'S, put the grenade away, before you start. LOL!
Thanks! I really did not want to pull the top of the cylinder right now.
Mr10usdad that’s nothing on a 2 stroke lol
Would a bad water pump gasket allow water into my crank case?
If you mean seal then yes, oil will be milky looking. If you truly mean the gasket on the cover, no it would just be leaking down the outside of the engine case.
And we did the same thing and It worked
How did you take off the pump shaft?
If possible what did you sell it for? It'd looked fantastic... was that a new tank? How/where? Ive the 4:20 same bike.. 4:16
No I wet sanded the tank and polished it. I sold that bike probably six years ago. I think for $2500? back then.
Now does that grenade come with the parts?
Jace Herrera Pull the pin. It's a junk fix.
Pull the pin and put that ktm out of its misery you have a nice collection of bikes they look clean
Good vid I got an 83. With an 81 case. Cause the 83 case was shot
Did you have to clean corrosion out of the cylinder walls where the coolant flows too?
No, those were clean.
Thanks!
Great video very informative . I have an 86 250r. Where did you get the Pro Curcuit at. Thanks
Brian Morrison found it on eBay believe it or not!
Sorry for super late reply, but it came with the bike when I bought it. He got the pipe back in the later 80's. No longer available
