almost 2 years on and this is still one of my favorites. sound of silence is such a haunting and beautiful song and the lute gives it a very special quality i cant quite find words to describe. i can think of no higher praise than to say i love this just as much as Simon and Garfunkel's.
i hope this man is safe and well during these times. What beautiful noise he brings to this world ! and please if uu see my comment .Please if uu could play a pink floyd can uu just do it
This is gorgeous! I’ve been interested in learning a lute for a long time but it’s a bit expensive to buy one haha. I’m so happy you’re making these! I can’t wait to learn one day!
dan, you've done it again. i just can't get enough of that instrument, man. that sound is so pure, especially in the hands of a master. can't wait to hear what you cover next
It's a long tíme. Although I'm still listening. Magnificent performance by the greatest Artist around.. Hopeing you, your family and your friends are all well. I thank you for all of your dedication and support that you have given us All. Best wishes as always for now and in the future. 😁😁😁🍀🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💥✨✨✨
I love this instrument and you play it so beautifully. I am so glad I found your channel, so talented and kind. Sending prayers for health and happiness your way. God bless
As always, this is remarkable, Dan. You do amazing work always, and this cover has blown it out of the water. Your Simon and Garfunkel covers are always great - I particularly love the Scarborough Fair cover you did a while back. Have a lovely evening!
I love these videos, and i think it’s really cool that you have so many variants of these instruments. Your talent is amazing, and what’s funny is we even have very similar names. Mine is Daniel Estrin, and i thought it was pretty unique
Good Morning Daniel, A lovely cover of a great tune. In my head I could hear the words being sung as an accompaniment as you played which was kind of weird but obviously just meant you hit the melody just perfect. The song does suit the tonal qualities of the lute so again a good choice. I had this playing in the office at work and a colleague also passed comment on your skill and quality at playing this. I am not sure if he is a RUclipsr but I will point him in the right direction if he is! Keep Safe and Keep Playing Clive
Excellent interpretation of a great classic Daniel! Have you thought about doing Scarborough Fair on the lute? Considering the subject matter it would be appropriate on your lute.
I don't know much about Garfunkel, but I think Paul Simon was a very good song writer. I really liked "Kodachrome" "Loves Me Like A Rock" "Fifty Ways..." "Call Me Al" etc. Anyway, that was a fine job you did there!
I really enjoy your videos--I only have a lute in Renaissance tuning sadly but I wonder, do you have tabs of the modern music you play, including the Swedish folk tunes? So cool!
Imagine sitting in your castle, starring out of the window while it's raining and foggy outside; the message of the death of your fair spouse just arrived. Your bard starts to play this song.
So lovely. I could almost believe it was originally written for lute! Thank you.
Syl --Thanks for listening
Very beautiful. You are very talented
Yes, it perfectly fit the lute.
This man deserves more then just 23 000 subs. Beautiful

They were inspired by traditional music like Scarborough Fair so it isn't surprising; Bardcore before the word was invented!!!

@@danbluedeer I guess no one is really able to handle grief very well, emotions are what makes us human after all.
Can you play Apache by Shadows on that ?

I think in medieval or baroque times Simon & Garfunkel would have been big stars too.
you're probably right about that...
where can you get a legitimate lute these days? i'd love to play one but i can't seem to find it anywhere
I bought my baroque lute at gamutmusic.com (Duluth, MN, USA)
