    Dear Friends,
Sutra Foundation presents Karuna Sagari, in NUMMAI: Where small things matter, in a studio performance at Sutra House on 19 & 20 April, 2024, 8pm.
Dancer & Founder Director of Bhakti Natya Niketan (Coimbatore, India), bharatanatyam dancer Karuna Sagari endeavors to create a lingering emotional experience of ‘rasa’.
A Kalakshetra Alumna, Karuna trained under Sheejith Krishna and is currently under the mentorship of distinguished dancer-choreographer, Malavika Sarukkai.
Karuna Sagari has received rigorous, in-depth instruction in bhakti spiritualism and poetics and has immersed herself since childhood in a centuries-old devotional corpus, and the medieval bhakti traditions of Tevaram, Tiruvasagam and Tiruppugazh.
In Nunmai, Karuna Sagari explores a series of works which will deepen our emotional understanding and appreciation of the poetry from the Sangam era.
Limited seats. Don’t miss Karuna Sagari’s first Bharatanatyam performance in Malaysia.
