I commented on your classroom setup day 3 about hoping to get a teaching position and I got offered a 3rd grade position yesterday. I am so excited, I'll be starting on September 1st!
I'm in University and I'm studying medicine and I am really unhappy. I really want to become a teacher but my parents are having none of it 😕. You just inspired me to follow my heart tomorrow I'm submitting the forms to change my degree.
We just finished our third week of third grade. Love your energy and how much you love teaching. The excitement you feel means you are exactly where you should be!
I love watching your vlogs: I retired from teaching June 2019 after 41 years of teaching grades 1, 2 & 3. Most of my career was teaching second grade. It is such a fun grade to teach. I miss the kids, I do not miss all the stress that comes with teaching today. Your room looks fantastic. It is such an inviting classroom. Please continue making vlogs. They bring back so many wonderful memories for me. Best of luck in 2022-23 school year. Keep inspiring little minds.
Thank you so much! It looks like I may be jumping back into teaching this year. Your post is so motivating and reminds me of why I love teaching. You have a very positive outlook that is contagious. God bless!!
I’m a retired teacher from the UK. I would love to know if you’ve always been this organised! Your ideas are great and you are so enthusiastic. Loved watching this video and your set up videos!❤
I'm always excited when I get a notification of another one of your videos! I teach in Belgium and the school year always starts on september 1st, so still a little over a week to go! I taught 2nd grade last year, moving to 4th now. Really exciting! Keep up the great energy! 😊
I start next week but my students start the week after. I teach 10th grade AP Geography but I love watching your vlogs because I always get great ideas and my classroom management skills need improvement. Elementary teachers are masters of classroom management.
Taught K for the last 4 years and now jumping to 4th (and of course that means I get to have a lot of my first class again) 😍 we start on Tuesday and I could not be more excited!!!! Thanks for sharing so many awesome ideas.
This gave me all of the ideas! I'm a 1st year 3rd grade teacher and we start Tuesday, August 23rd. I'm incredibly nervous, especially since I worked all summer at camp and have had 0 time to prep!! Thank you!
Started on Monday, so hooray, first week of school is done!!! Second year teaching kindergarten :) crazy group but starting to really love them ❤️ totally feel you with the whole “it’s actually a NORMAL first day” vibe. It’s so refreshing and feels so good. have a great school year!!
I love love love this! Will be starting second grade this year first year of second. Taught third grade three years but been away from teaching two years! I’d really like to know the essentials of making the year a breeze! Will only be teaching math and science! Yay!
Hello! I’m in So Cal, this is my 28th year teaching, but my first in 3rd grade! I’ve been getting my room ready along with you for a couple of years, which has been really fun! I just finished my first week as well, but we had a full 5 days. Thank you for all you share!🤗❤️
Although I'm not a full-time teacher, I'm going to start teaching Vacation Bible School to 2nd graders next week. This vid was sooo helpful in first day procedures and how to organize my days for the kids. I really appreciate it!!
I teach 3rd grade and have for 8 years. We normally start the first or second week of August, but this year some unexpected maintenance to a building in our district pushed back the start date to August 31st with an extra 20 minutes added to each day to make up the time.
Yay!!! Great first 2 days!! 😃I love your handwriting activity! I like the Deep Dive teaching activities! You're soooo right!! teach 2nd grade in Virginia. Teachers go back Aug. 22nd. Students go back Sept. 6th.
This year DOES feel like a (mostly) normal school year again...FINALLY!! We went back on 08/10. This is year 17 for me; I teach 4th grade in FL and have such a WONDERFUL group of kiddos this year! Best of luck to you and your Littles!!
This is my first year teaching! I’m teaching third grade & I just finished my first week! I want to thank you for all the advice! I’ve gotten so many amazing ideas from you. I feel like we’re very similar lol. I hope you have a great year!😊
We have a ton! There are a lot of examples in "The Morning Meeting Book", but some games we play are: Andy's Coming, Mr. Judge, animal guessing game, BLOB, Step in Step out, Marker passing, etc
I teach first. This is my 36th year! We began on the 11th. This past week was the full 5 days and Friday night went to be at 8:30 and slept 10 1/2 hours. My norm is 7. Nothing like teacher tired! Love your Volgs. Have a fabulous school year!
Well done!! You did it! I'm a 5th et 6th grade teacher and school starts august 29th here in Belgium. So one more week before the beginning of the year. I know already my 6th graders ( they were in my class last year) and I'm so excited to meet my new 5th graders.
I know its a bit late, but when construction started next door to my mothers house, she ordered a truck load of hay to be delivered and stacked up again the side of the house from top to bottom and all the way along the wall including covering windows. Keeps noise out and dust and dirt.
I taught preschool for 16 years at a private school but will be starting my 2nd year of TK in a public school on September 8th but we do three half days of what’s called a Jumpstart starting August 30th. First set up day in my room is Monday the 22nd. Our rooms got remodeled this summer. So excited!
I am a home school teacher and I am going for my masters degree. I have been following you since I was a substitute and going for my undergraduate which was before Covid!
This is my ninth year of teaching, near DC. My first three years were in second and the past five were in third grade gifted. My principal called me last Monday and told me that he had to move me to fourth grade gifted for this year (he told me this just three days before classroom set up started last Friday). Open house was yesterday- I’m so excited that about 9 of last year’s sweet kids get to loop up with me and most of the new ones seem like they’ll fit in. The kids come full time on Monday!
I love your videos, very helpful and I've gotten some great ideas from your sharing! We started with kids in western Kentucky on Aug 11th. Ready or not, here we come!!!
As an elementary music teacher, I can say that traveling is NOT ideal for many reasons but having classroom teacher support makes it better. The inconvenience is a mutual feeling... trust me. With that being said, I teach PK-4 in NE Ohio and we start Wednesday the 24th! Have a great year!
I just downloaded the Jenga game from TPT and bought new games from Walmart. LOVE THE IDEA!! I do not start until after Labor Day. This will be my 12th year in first grade in NY.
This year I'm on maternity leave, but I miss the first day of school craziness! Thank you for invite us to your world and I'm looking forward to watching other videos.
I love your classroom rules posters! They're super cute! I'm in the process of making my own, but am just curious - did you print those on regular letter sized paper? If not, what size are they?
I love watching your set up vlogs. I teach in England so it's interesting to see what is the same and different. We don't start back until September as we only break up for summer mid July. I taught year 2 (6-7 year olds) last year but I'm moving down to year 1 (5-6 year olds) this coming year.
Hi love your videos and vlog. I implemented your math centers and ela centers worked wonderfully last year. Can you show your classroom goals you said you made them, but I was not able to see all of them.
In my head, you’re my teacher twin! Lol. I’m also in year six, started in 3rd and am now in 2nd! We started on the 15th and I’m loving the honeymoon stage with my littles! Never want it to end 🥰
Started this week teach 1st in IL this year feels better without all the restrictions and craziness of remote learning im gladnto get back to normal I pushed my desks back into groups and I forgot how much space I actually have in my room 😅
6th year teaching wow! Have you ever made any big mistakes along the way? Even after being experienced? I made a huge mistake and I typically don't. I forgot to email higher up once I completed an "urgent" task. If you've ever made one, what is it and what did you do? Ugh I have such a big caseload and this first week has been so chaotic!
