    My wife is from Ukraine. Slava Ukraina! I spent 3 months there traveling all over and getting to know her culture, family and country. I jumped off river banks in the village swimming in the river, spent a lot of money in Lviv and Kiev, and even toured Chernobyl. My fondest memories will be of spending a week in the village. Drinking well water and tree juice. Fishing in the river and exploring old WWII areas. I ate all the sala and borch possible. But being from Kansas, USA...I love a good beef steak and could not find one anywhere! Spending hundreds of dollars on a bad steak. Here the best steak is 6 dollars lol. Other than the lack of steak and bad roads I miss Ukraine a lot. Mostly the people, culture, and family. But Ukraine is now here in Kansas with me and we bought all kinds of things on the market to bring back. We will go back soon with money to spend lol. My wife and I will be uploading several videos about our journey and our cultures...soon! Cheers from USA. Not all US men are here to exploit the women...we truly love your culture and glad to have such genuine and hard working people in our lives.

    • @christianfreedom-seeker2025
      @christianfreedom-seeker2025 4 года назад +11

      Um no. Most Americans live in cities or suburbs or the newer "xurbs" very few Americans have chickens or cows because we are wealthy enough to buy our food from stores. Besides, growing your food in the USA is a fool's errand, it is MORE EXPENSIVE to raise chickens and goats than it is to buy the food at the store.

    • @RichV20
      @RichV20 4 года назад +4

      This is NOT how many Americans live. Maybe 10-20% live in rural area and half would maybe live like this. Many other farmers or small towns would live in houses maybe 3 times the space with the new appliances. Aside from those living in poverty, the rest of urbanized Americans live in spacious houses with all mod cons.

    • @RichV20
      @RichV20 4 года назад +4

      Americans make too much money to warrant spending extra time with a garden and farming. Buying meat and produce at low prices compared to wages the grocery is far more economical. Even lower class, poverty or unemployed Americans get Food Stamps and can just get things as well at the grocery. Just how it is.

Just because you live in suburbs or disregard the size of housing doesn't change the lifestyle. They're talking about lifestyle not possessions. You're either completely ignorant or you've chosen to be willfully ignorant.

      In Ukraine you can do whatever you want to do. Even prepare home made alcohol (as you can see on the video in so called kitchen). Plant what you want even in front of your house (exept Cannabis and other drugs), keep what you want: kengooro or tiranosaures if you like. There are no restrictions to any breed of dogs.
      There are no restrictions to rebuild or repair your house the way you want or establish electric wires or sewer with the help of local specialist. No need to pay agencies if you want to save money. No restriction to washing machines, electric bills $3 to $30, if you not using any - you don't pay anything (many people use electricity to heat the house in winter -20°C still $30).
      In Ukraine you can say in public Fu.k ...(put any name even your president) and everybody will only smile and police will ignore. You can argue with police in polite manner or tell them you don't have documents with you - if you lucky, in most cases they will tell you go away.
      There is no politcorrectnes. You can curse whoever you want call them all animal names - there are no guns, only punishment you can get - middle finger or punch to the face if you smaller than opponent.
      There is no feminism. Because women and men in Ukraine were equal in rights from ancient times. Everything: money, choosing husband ... When girl marrying man, groom DOES NOT paying for her to her father like for some stuff. Even opposite: parents giving money or property to their daughter so that new family will have something to start with. So in marriage husband CAN NOT treat her in inappropriate manner - wife does not came empty handed. Woman can divorce when she wants if abused. Children ALWAYS stay with mother.
      When there were struggles in Europe and US for women rights we simply could not understand what do they want and why they aren't equal in a first place.

    Spasibo! Fantastic garden. The smorodina is called black currants in the USA. What you called zucchini and was yellow in color is a type of squash and is called (surprise) yellow squash. I loved the manure pile and the organic approach. Fabulous stuff you grow there! With the pigs, chickens and cows right next to you the flies and odors must be powerful. But that's the price of having the family kolkhoz in the back yard. It would be great to see how you prepare and store your harvest for the winter. Thanks again.

    Very fascinating. I have been to Ukraine three times, 2005, 2007, and 2009. I have not been back since 2009. Although I would love to make another visit, it is not likely right now. I really liked the green beans that I saw in the buckets. In my youth here in Indiana, usa, we ate a lot of green beans. My father had a garden, and I would help pick the green beans and break them and cook them. I had many interesting adventures when I was in Ukraine. Once, I was registered with a dating agency. The dating agency was on Pushkinskya Street. I was staying in an apartment on Khreschatyk Street. This was my first visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, January of 2005. I would see the Ukrainian and Russian men walking around in those very beautiful leather coats with the fur collars. I wanted one. I went to a shop. The coats were priced at 3,000 US Dollars! I was like that is too much. I told a lady who worked in the dating agency. She told me, “Oh, on the other side of the river, you can get the same coat for 300 dollars, not 3,000!” I asked if she would show me. She agreed to meet me after her work. I paid for a cab. We went to a large market. I found a great coat for 300, just like she said. When I wear it in Indiana, everyone compliments me, ha. I tell them that I am Fyodor Dostoevsky, ha, my favorite writer. Well, the lady went her way, and I went mine. She wrote down my address on Khrieschatyk Street. I found a taxi and showed the driver the address written in Russian. Instead of driving me home, the taxi driver took me to a forest! He got out of his taxi. His intentions were clear. He was going to rob me. I am a big man, almost two meters, strong, lift weights. I got out of the taxi, and we “squared-off,” like we were going to fight. Then, the taxi driver shook his head and got back into his taxi. I got in with him but in the back seat, of course. I took the piece of paper with my address written in Russian. I show it to him again and got very angry. He understood. He took me to my place. Afterwards, I shook his hand and gave him a big tip, ha!!! That is just one story. Another time, I took a flight down to Simferpol on Crimea. This was summer of 2009. I have some wild stories from that trip. Another time, I met a nice woman in a bar. She agreed to show me her apartment, a typical living situation like you have done here in this video. She also lived on the other side of the Dnipro River. However, she did not live in a village but a quadrangle building, maybe 10-12 stories high. There were like six or of these tall buildings in their “area.” Obviously, they were built in the Soviet era. They reminded me of some buildings at Indiana University where I went to college. We called these buildings, “Quads,” short for quadrangles, four winged buildings. Her apartment had been remodeled. It was nice. She told me that she bought it for 60,000 dollars. I thought that that was a decent price. The apartment that I stayed in on Kreschatatyk Street cost 360,000 US Dollars. I asked the people in the office. They told me. Can’t remember what I paid to live there for two weeks. I love Ukraine. I am writing-down a lot of the stories from my visits. My romantic dream is to live and die in Odessa. I have not been to Odessa, but I have done a lot of research. I used to be semi-wealthy. My wealth to ok a negative turn back in 2009 during the financial-banking-crisis in the USA. Long story. I have written one book that is very funny but also philosophical. I make some money from it but not much. If it ever becomes popular and makes more money, I will return to Ukraine and visit Odessa. There is no reason to go to London or Paris or Rome. Eastern Europe is much more interesting. Western Europe is very jaded and hates Americans, ha. Americans should travel to Warsaw and Prague and Kyiv. For me, Ukraine is the place. I have a friend who has invited me to visit for several months, free, no rent charge. He is a philosophy professor at the Red University. This is very kind of him but I do not want to be a burden. I will stay here in Indiana and work on my stories, writing them down. Hopefully, I will get to return to Ukraine again. For me, the country is unique and special. Down with Putin. Long live Ukraine. I love the Russian writers, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Pushkin, Bulgakov, but I’ve never liked the Russian politicians. They are corrupt assholes. Thanks for your informative and interesting videos. Poki, poki. Delbert from Indiana, usa.

      Yes, of course. Do not think that your Ukrainian poets and writers are better than Russia's. That would be like black people thinking that their writers are better than white people, especially white men. That would be like white men thinking that they are better athletes than the black man. White me have been the greatest writers in the world and Russia has contributed significantly. Ukraine is not without literary artists. You've mentioned two. I hate Putin and his bastards, but I will always love the Russian writers, just like I love many black basketball players, a sport that I follow closely. Someday, Crimea will be returned to the sovereign country of Ukraine via an intrinsic long term morality. Yes, before this happens, Putin will need to be out of power and likely dead. The sooner the better for me, for the world. I will never live in Russia even though I've read many of its writers and consider them to be of the greatest known. I've been to Ukraine three times. I hope to return and write one more book there, living and dying in Odessa where I will be buried. This might not unfold but it is my vision. I love Ukraine. If you want, read more in this book that I wrote, a book that I am revising one last time. I wish you well. There is nothing wrong with loving you county, but do not warp truth in order to fit your love. In other words, I never will say that the USA has better hockey players than Canada, better cigars than Cuba. I wish you well. www.amazon.com/Intellectual-Bachelor-Delbert-Blanton/dp/1523466472/ref=asap_bc?ie=UTF8

      In America an adult female chicken is called, "A McDonald's Chicken Nugget waiting to happen." The adult male chicken is , "McDonalds Chicken Tenders. Please don't forget my dipping sauce." The term for an adelescent bovine, like say a cow or a bull in its first year is called, " 3 McDonald Big Mac's, with cheese. . . Please."

    Very nice video and very interesting. In English, by the way, we call the black berries Black Currants. Blackberries are a different sort of berry which grows on brambles.

    I think everyone must visit villages in any country he travel to, city's life is almost the same everywhere, but in such places the true identity of the county is still preserved like traditions and so on
