Congratulations! First time commenting, but I have been watching your vlogs for a little while now. Thank you for showing us your world! Looking forward to your adventures out of Chicago!
Thank you so much for commenting! I appreciate the support 😀
So happy for you Michelle!
You have to do what's best for you and your career.
Can't wait to hear what trips you get each month!
Go get em ❤️
Thank you so much!! I'm excited to share them with you! 💛
I’m so excited that you are going to be in Chicago!!! Welcome to Chicago!!! You will love it here!!!
I am so excited too! Thank you 😁😁
iirc - you live in PHX - so with AA having hubs in PHX and ORD, plus UA in ORD the chance of getting more commuter flights **should** make life a TON easier for you. Especially with a line, crash pad usage should be minimal.
Yes! I was actually surprised there's more flights PHX/ORD than PHX/SFO, so far so good 😊
Congratulations!!! You really deserve this. I can't wait to see your flights out of the Windy City!!! Travel safe my friend
Thanks so much!!
We will definitely will miss you! From SFO I will definitely miss running into! Good luck on the new base! Have fun!
I will miss you!! Hopefully we'll get to fly TOGETHER soon ❤️❤️
That's really good news! 👍
And I guess you will have more flights home making commuting less stressful.
Hope you get some trips to London. You'll love it here. Really good food and clothes shopping and loads of sights!
I hope so too! I haven't been to London in years. I'm sure this summer I'll score a London trip 😊
Congratulations!! I was wondering what would happen to you when I read your airline was cutting back from SFO. I've had good experiences changing planes in Chicago. Denver seems to take forever on the taxi ways to get to the gate and your next gate you walk miles to get too. I had to postpone my March trip to November, none of my sisters could watch our mom. Only the 6th time since 1976 I haven't had a vacation to Florida or Nevada in March. Looking forward to watching your new adventures. Hopefully you'll be good, and Santa will surprise you with another international trip for Christmas. Continue success and all the best!!! 👍🍷✈
I hope the wait will be worth it for your trip! We'll see what happens with SFO. I sure hope it gets better there 🙏🏽
Wooo you are coming to the base I’m at! Hope to fly a trip with you soon! Such great vibes!
Yay! Please say hi if you see me! Hope to see you soon 🤗
Congratulations Michelle and welcome to the windy city. I live in the burbs and hope to see u at ORD sometime!!!
Best wishes for ur future endeavors!😍✈
I hope so too! Thanks for the welcome 🤗
Happy that you will be able to hold a line as it will make your life so much easier. It will be a great new adventure for you!. Chicago has lots to see and do so I think you will enjoy the time you spend there. I think for me the only negative is winter as I'm tired of ice and snow.
I hope so too! I love Chicago as a city, but I am also not a fan of the cold. Luckily, I won't be full time living there so I only have to survive the cold for short bouts at a time 😅
Thanks for the explanation of bases, seniority, reserve, etc. It sounds as if ORD is a good move.
I’m curious about LAX; I know it’s really a mini hub, but I wonder what will happen if and when terminal 9 opens. Airlines have challenges making international routes work as well out of LAX, but I expect that United will start adding more flights out of that airport. I recall that Continental had a large number of flight attendants at LAX with an unbelievable number of years served (50+ wasn’t rare), but imagine all those seniority-elites have retired!
We added a handful of new hires in the beginning of 2022 there but since then it's been closed to new hires/transfers. We have announced some new international flying in LAX coming later this year so hopefully that grows it a bit. I've been hearing so many rumors about us growing it for the Olympics & for when the construction is finished, but who knows! 😅
It's still a senior base for us, but things can change quickly 😀
@@MichelleHayashida Thanks. I was sorry to see SIN pulled. I flew it many times. Although it was close to the limit of the range for a B789, there was always about a half dozen pallets loaded on flights from SIN. Singapore makes it work; I hope United comes back.
Congratulations on your new base. Fly and stay safe. Looking forward to your vlogs. Happy weekend. Ciao 2023.
Thanks so much!😄😄
I am so glad I never had to commute or do a crash pad…… especially with being married. Wishing you all the best ❤ snow no
Happy for you! It's rough but definitely doable 😊
So excited for you! I wish my airline employer had a base in my home, Northern Cali... But I'm starting a new life based PHL 😀
Congrats! I hope PHL treats you well 😊
You are such an eloquent lady! So with your seniority and new base, what flights/routes will you be regularly working and will you look forward to bidding for?
Thank you so much! I'm bidding anything that is "commutable" and gets in early enough for me to fly home that day! I'm still quite junior so I don't have too much of a choice when it comes to what I fly but a lot more of a choice than reserve!
Best wishes, Michelle! Hope you enjoy your new living adventure in Chicago.
I hope so too! Thanks 😊
change is good. I know SFO is expensive to live at, hopefully ORD is not as expensive. will you be bidding for International or domestic?.
I'll be dream bidding for international but I'm still too junior to hold it! During the summer, I'm sure I'll be able to trade into some good trips 😋
Right on. Good luck.
Thanks so much!!
I’ve only just joined my dear so can you tell me why it’s your last trip ?❤
You seem such a lovely ☺️ girl 👧
It was my last trip in San Francisco! I transferred to a new base after this trip.
@@MichelleHayashida good look with your new location and I just know your be a champion ✌️
Thank you!
I always thought Chicago was a more senior base! I feel like it’s very senior at AA from the vloggers I’ve seen I hope you get fun trips! I guess seeing how I’ve never made a connection in Chicago it’s always IAD, Houston or Denver for me so that should have clued me in lol.
For my airline, it's pretty mid level seniority. It's just SFO became *so* senior everywhere was more junior in comparison 😅 thank you so much!
Congrats, hope you enjoy the new change.
I hope so too! Thanks 😀
Didn't realize you were married!! How does that work with all the constant traveling? You get to go home every weekend/ on your consecutive days off?
It is HARD sometimes to be honest but you make it work. I go home after every trip for whatever time I can. I usually try to be back home once a week for a few days at a time!
We also call and FaceTime a lot. My husband is wonderful though and is extremely supportive and flexible with my job.
Congrats on becoming a line-holder. I would have thought that because Chicago is the airline's headquarters there would be more FAs based out of there than SFO and you would be less likely to get more seniority there. That's my thinking, but I guess it's just the opposite!
Historically, it was a pretty senior base but things have changed so much since COVID! They've been really growing ORD with lots of new hires.
From one beautiful city to another..welcome to the Midwest
Thank you so much! Happy to be here 😊
Congratulations Michele
Thanks so much!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
Congratulations nice im also based in chicago for my airline
Thank you! Hope to see you around 😁
Congratulations & good luck
Thank you - I appreciate it!
I hope it works out for you!
Thank you my love 😘
How would your seniority be at IAH?
I would be able to hold a line there as well!
@@MichelleHayashida Got it. I would think IAH, has better weather and a little better city. Chicago, uugghh. But that is just me. Looking forward to many more great videos from your travels.
My seniority is still better in ORD than IAH & I'd pretty much need a car in Houston which is why I didn't choose it. I could definitely see myself going there at some point, but I thought I'd try out ORD first 😁
@@MichelleHayashida Sounds wonderful, I look forward to seeing many videos of your travel out of ORD! You are amazing!
Congrats
Thank you!😊
You will have to get a real job now
I have a real job and I love it :)
I lived there for over 40 years. Chicago is a horrible dangerous place. You got in there because everyone wants out. 150,000 people a year leave. Please be careful!
I won't be living there, but I will surely be careful while I'm there for my trips. Thanks!
