Penn State seems to have trouble covering the spread, even when it is only 4 1/2 points and they win by 3. They had better begin playing at the coin toss and not stop until the end of the game. No more waiting until the second half to play football.
I don't think that Penn State worries too much about the spread. They like getting reps for the non-starters. They also have new OC and DC. They keep improving each week. WE ARE
Wisconsin is very similar to Illinois, maybe with a slightly better running game. They run the same plays, they might be a little more stout, but they throw to the boundary a lot, they try to get backs free, and they have a servicable QB
The bye week does give State the time to "fine tune" the offensive and defense. But having the time doesn't guarantee that the time will be used effectively. Penn State hasn't performed better after bye weeks in the past. I won't believe it until I see it Saturday night.
