Put the soft tie over the triple tree and it will clear the bottom edge of the fairing. You don't have to remove parts to tie down the bike. The GWRRA Gold Book has the best instructions yet for tieing down a 1500 Wing and a 1800 Wing. Way different than this and much safer and secure. I have used their system on both bikes, 1500 and 1800.

I thought you would use the center stand, I don’t have this thing on my motorcycle. Is it a bad to tie the front and rear brakes with tie wraps?
I was told that when you put the bike on the center stand and then secure the points around it you are putting a tremendous amount of torque on the frame. The motorcycle is not at the mercy of the suspension on the trailer (the center stand makes it become 'one' with the trailer). What he did was correct. And, he left the side stand down just in case it went over. However, it would have to be counteracting physics itself because he had so many straps on both sides OR a strap would have had to fail.
I’m selling my bike to someone in Florida and getting ready to transport it for them. I’m hoping this is the correct method . How do I remove the ring of fire on front wheel?
Sorry I must correct you compression of forks due to internal valving will not damage fork seals as the oil is not under compression.
I am a Former Tow Operator . I agree 100% with this guys approach . Tie onto Solid Un-Sprung parts of the bike where possible .

Please. I've been compressing the forks during transport for over 35 years without ever damaging the fork seals. There is more than one correct way to do this.
Umm you might want to rethink your video. You are giving wrong advice and you are straps are all in the wrong place. Make sure you know what you are talking about before posting.

I'm a professional MSF rider coach. I have transported hundreds of motorcycles for over 20 years. Not only that I am constantly looking at every possible I can find for transporting motorcycles. I'm open to suggestions...I'm not open to fake accusations. You said "all the straps are in the wrong place".... Please enlight me.... All ears.

Before transporting this specific bike, I searched every video on RUclips and talked to owners. If you notice I even took the time to remove the plastics covering the front forks so I could access that area which is a strong point for anchorage. Most people tie their bikes from the handlebars and collapse the suspension which can turn into busted fork seals. This bike came from Washington DC to Hampton Roads 4 hour trip and not a single tie got lose or the bike move.
Again I open to a debate not people making statements without support or evidence
I have transported bikes tied down like this for thousands of miles......zero issues..........how about you show us the "correct" way to tie down a bike
