Larian literally asked if they could make Baldurs Gate 3 about 20 years ago, got told No, then just said "Okay we'll go and make two of the best RPGs ever to grace the earth, and then we can circle back."
Honestly, I prefer DOS2 over BG3. The gameplay in DOS2 was much more fun. You had to be strategic and manage AP. Every battle was a puzzle. I remember fighting higher-level encounters over and over again just to see if I could find a way to beat them. BG3 with its D&D rules is boring. One movement, one attack, one bonus attack, one free action. No matter your level and how you prepare, you are limited to this, and at the mercy of the dice roll. And the free but time-consuming camp system to replenish your health and skills is super tedious. If it is basically free, why not just let people rest in the field without having to retreat to the camp? Let people move on. I don't want to go back to a boring camp every time I run out of magic. There is nothing fun about that. Keep the camp with some utility and story, but let people restore their characters without going there.

I dont know what you mean, Divinity was full on sprinting ahead of any game at the time RPG wise.
Brought tears to the eyes, man... So much of good memories. Nice editing also, waiting for your take on BG3!
