Wait, people are hating on him?? His work is completely new to me. I saw it in an ad and fell in love with the videography and the music. So this kinda seems strange to me
@@potatopotatoeOG He was a part of the reality show for Idols and won 1st place and became center of the group Wanna One. People got so jealous of his rising success and popularity that they started targeted harassment against him. And it became worse when the group disbanded after their 1.5 years and he went solo. He had to fight a lawsuit against his company because they sold his rights to 3rd party illegally. The hate worsened when he debuted solo because he broke all records and sold 500+k physical copies which were never heard of from a soloist.
At one point it became so bad that he took a hiatus from work because of anxiety and panic disorder in late 2019. But he came back and now he's out there with full force conquering everything like a King that he is.

Anyone can make a "dark concept" just putting on some thick eyeliner, makeup, impactful clothes. The visual part is easy. But writing dark lyrics and making the song itself dark, with the lyrics, the sounds, the beat. That's a different level of darkness, and Daniel did it sooo well. Props to him for that.

It's just a lyric. Some of the audience will relate. That is all.
Most people may not even know Kang Daniel’s story, but once you know the full story, you will know how strong of a fighter Daniel is. Being a fan of Daniel since his produce days, it really hurt knowing what he had been through; but like what Daniel himself said, he is over that phase and is now comfortable enough to be addressing it.
Issues like depression, anxiety and panic disorder etc can be experienced by anyone, especially for those in the Korean entertainment industry, but we rarely hear much since artists and their agencies consider it a career-killing move to make it known. I’m just so proud of Daniel for always taking the unconventional route courageously, despite the immerse amounts of pressure he experienced from all those who tried to break him and his career. I want to thank him for sharing his story and not giving up when he was feeling the worst. I hope he shines more than ever and be happy and healthy always. He really deserves the best.
