  • Non-album tracks which come directly from the scarce CD pressings of Ian Moss' early singles. Some of these tracks were re-released for the Matchbook 30th anniversary edition, however these were lazy vinyl needledrops and not true remasters. Enjoy these Mossy tracks in high quality- you'll only find them here!
    1. Islands (Tucker's Daughter b-side)
    2. Answermachine Blues (Telephone Booth b-side)
    3. Angel Eyes (Out of the Fire b-side)
    4. Islands (Slip Away b-side)
    5. In The Sun (Never Give Up b-side)
    Special thanks to Mark.
Islands is actually a Cold Chisel song from the band's early days in the 70s, of which Ian Moss wrote the music for. Don Walker's 'Songs' book published in 2019 reveals the lyrics:
    Islands
    Islands
    Breezes
    Silence
    Blue sky
    Solitude
    On my
    Islands
    Oceans thunder away
    Sunrise sweeping round the bay
    Night-winds howling on the headland
    Close each lonely day

Thanks for that Benjamin. That's a beautiful piece of music.. I sometimes forget about what a brilliant Guitarist Ian Moss is with out being a show pony 👍

Ahh! I loved "Islands" ... been a while since I've given my "Tucker's Daughter" and "Slip Away" cassingles a spin though :) Mossy is all soul. His music has been an inspiration since forever. Thanks for sharing dude ;)

There’s no mention of Islands in Michael Lawrence’s book about Cold Chisel…

You're right but it's in the 1970-76 section of Don's book and credits Ian for the music

@@BenjaminBarnes idk why Michael omitted it, unless he was unaware of its existence.
