  • This video contains two matches I had with the LV2 and LV1 of The-O on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 650-700 cost general with lightning fast mobility, high melee damage, outstanding melee reach, great durability and even solid midrange shooting damage. Its two primary weaknesses would be low ammo for both shooting weapons along with being so large that it is a bullet magnet. This suit has gotten a bit powercrept again since I last made a video on it, but it still retains the same great strengths as always. Both these matches went well overall, but I should apologize in advance since I had a load of silly friendly downswings in the second match. I hope that you enjoy watching!
The primary weapon of The-O is a beam rifle with 3150 power, 3 ammo, 4 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1 seconds swap, 350m range and 60% stagger value. A 4 seconds cooldown instant stun is incredibly valuable for close combat and its high power also even lets you do good shooting damage. Only 3 ammo though means that you will often be reloading this when you need it in a fight.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 2850 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap and standard melee modifiers. The damage here is nothing special but it has fast swap time with an amazing moveset. The neutral swing is a very long ranged poke that you can often use to initiate with and the downswing is a fast sweep similar to Jeda or Stamen.
Its first sub weapon is a rapid fire beam rifle with 787x4 power, 12 ammo, 1.5 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 0.33 seconds swap, 350m range and 25%x4 stagger value. Although this fires slowly for a burst rifle, it can stun in one burst and can break higher levels of stun resistance in combination with the main rifle. It has high damage but still has the issue of only 3 shots.
Its second sub weapon is a set of quad beam sabers with 3150 power, 4.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap, 60%x2 side swing modifier and 65%x3 downswing modifier. These quad sabers have gigantic and wide reaching side swings with a huge power downswing. You can often use these to initiate on enemies or as a way to interrupt them by using your high priority.
The-O at LV2 has 24000 HP with 24 in beam/ballistic defence and 38 in melee defence. It has average ranged defences but its melee defence is outstanding, it has high HP as well. Furthermore, it has a 25% damage reduction buffer for the legs and 30% reduction buffers for the shoulders and back. This makes you really hard to take down even for the powerhouses of 700 cost. It has LV1 Maneuver Armor and LV2 Damage Control for defensive skills.
It also has 140 hover speed, 235 boost speed, 85 thrust and 81 turning speed. This is high mobility for 650 cost, and still pretty damn good for 700 cost. The hover movement is tight and it has the best boosting speed for any general at 700, before special skills come into play of course. It has LV3 Forced Injectors but completely lacks any sort of Flight Control.
The unique skill which The-O has is Biosensor (P). This activates at 30% HP and adds +15 to both attack modifiers while also tripling the time it takes to lock on to you with funnels/incoms. The attack boost is much more modest than other low HP skills but the lock on debuff is incredibly helpful to let you avoid being finished off by funnels. At 700 cost this can completely stop the Moon Gundam from doing its powerful downswing into Psycho Plates combo on you.
Overall I feel that while The-O is a pretty solid melee brawler, powercreep is rendering it a bit obsolete again. Psycho Doga basically does the same thing but better, and the new Dijeh Traversia will find it trivial to just stunlock The-O from midrange. The only real benefit that The-O has is high priority melee swings with great reach alongside 235 boost speed. These are nice to have but I don't think they are enough to properly compete against the best. I think it would be nice if the biosensor skill was buffed be activated at 50% HP rather than 30%, also for it to provide some sort of mobility increase or thrust usage reduction. It would also be nice for the single beam saber to get better combo modifier or downswing modifier, as well as the quad beam sabers to get less cooldown time. Don't let that put you off though, I still think that The-O is quite powerful as long as you take some time to learn it. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!
