One tip that you didn't mention and I would suggest is : don't over complicate things. Sometimes, especially when I was starting, I wanted to layer way too many sounds, put a shit load of FX, etc. and I realized that it's not necessary for a song to be complicated to sound good. Just listen carefully to your song and ask yourself : does it need more elements ? To me, sound selection is the key as you mentioned, not only for samples but also for the instruments / VSTs / presets you're using. I think it's much more important to spend time choosing great sounds than trying to achieve a perfect mix for example. To me, what matters the most is a catchy melody or the overall mood of the song, as long as the mix isn't too bad ofc.
I literally followed all the tips that MHA mentioned in his video. Last week, my track was played in one of the biggest radio stations of all Lithuiania (country where I live). And u know what? All I used in that track was mha samplepacks, soundbanks and the Aya Anne vocal pack from SOUNDLE. MHA here is spitting FACTS!
@@d3nomite558 haha, good one. I wish bro. But jokes aside, I literally followed all the tips and steps to fully making it to the music industry. If I could do that, you can do it as well. 💜
The best feeling in producing for me is the "LEVEL UP" - Its a thing that just clicks all of a sudden every couple of months and my music just gets a level up! The high lasts for about 12 hours and then im back at "Man this can sound better" - and then im off to more learning to get to that next level.
A HUGE tip you didn't mention that helped me a lot is : working with other people (not necessarily collab). You learn sooo much from that. You get to see a different perspective how the person works on music, workflow, sound selection, layering, his own tips, etc etc. I also wanted to stay the quality of your videos keeps improving, it looks really professional !!
Focus on mixing rather than mastering. A good mix can make your track sounds good, even without mastering it. You can't fix mixing with mastering. And I recommend to NEVER let all the mixing to be done in the end. Do it throughout the production process. And MHA, get better soon! Great content.
Amen, spot on🙏 so many people think mixing and mastering both are things you do after your song is finished and that they are some sort of secret formulas for it
Very good video, I am argentinian and I understand little English, but really your videos are understood and your way of explaining is great, you are a genius👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Whoa, I'll remember this 1. Use Great Sounds 2. Finish Your Songs 3. Remake Songs 4. Make/Listen to Different Genres 5. Keep Learning! Copy that! Thx Melker
Remaking my favorite EDM, Prog-House etc tracks is what I have in mind also, because its always fascinated me how they were made. Orbital from my country of England inspire me even! Its took me 15 years to understand what I know now about Synthesizers and even Basic Sound Design and now that I do I can progress further! You are a great instructor!
Will always support you Melker! Thank you for the tips bro Started watching you two years ago, when I first started producing and now im doing gigs and shows all over my city! Only thing missing is releasing songs. Thank you bro
Jag BEHÖVDE denhär videon, haft sån extremt pissig dag helt sinnes o Melker kommer in CLUTCH o bara ger mig ett par riktigt trevliga minuter, uppskattas!❤
Thank you for sharing this bro . ive been producing for kinda 4 years on and off but lately ive been producing way often and wanting to improve at it . as you said we all getting better in different phase one can be faster learning than the other but its ok as long as we keep producing and always learning . ACTIONS is the key . knowledge is important yeah but not enough . you need action . mistakes will happen and alot and you improve by learning from those mistakes each track you do . plus dont forget the enjoy the jorney and have fun producing ! :))))
You're by far my favorite producer youtuber/influencer. I love your style more than all others. That's saying something. Bought your vital 1 bank. It's dope.
Another tip I would mention is to MIX GENRES. Like for example Mo Falk's "colour house" movement where Colour Bass and Future House were combined into one, and it worked. There's probably more tracks where people have no idea some elements were taken from other genres. I swear you can be very creative with tons of genres out there and form some magic. Especially if you understand how certain genres work and how it can correlate with other genres.
I've been watching MHA from last year I think it was in recommendation of the new rules remix I really loved that .... Then I listen his future pop track how he made I had done the processing of his alternative.... This dude is so amazing that he had improved me too much i made more than 100 demos inspired by him .... !! Thankx MHA
A tip you forgot to mention that I try to do so much is find friends or family who love music but don't necessarily listen to the genre of music you make and have them listen to a song you are creating it will give you outside prospective. It will help with getting a song to go from one that fans of that genre will listen to, to fans of music will listen to.
I don't even know how to start a song. Like I would love to venture more genre than just progressive house (maybe tech house or deep house because it's easier to make [maybe]) but every time I open FL studio my brain just turns off. I don't know what sounds to use, I don't know how to arrange the sounds, and I know I don't need any fancy plugins to make a song, but every time I try to make one I can see how much low effort i put.
Great video MHA! 💯Splice is actually 12,99 pm right now which holds me back. Is it still worth the subscription? Also, any idea when your new sample pack is going to be released ?:D
Huh thats really interesting to hear it was recommended to you, welcome! :) Well, If you want to get started just playing around i would suggest looking into the demo version of FL studio! Great video MHA! 💯Splice is actually 12,99 pm right now which holds me back. Is it still worth the subscription? Also, any idea when your new sample pack is going to be released ?:D
It depends, but in general no, its not worth it. Better to buy independent samplepacks from producers (in general)
oooooohhhhh
Oooooooo
How would i even start in the music production business ? i stumbled on this video randomly through my fyp and i'm kinda intrigued tbh

@@mhamusic. Thanks so much fam i will be sure to follow ur advice :)
to be a successful producer you just have to know 2 thing 1st song writting skill and 2nd sound selection i mean as MHA said good sounds 🧐🧐
I have one big problem, i mostly have no ideas for a song :C What can i do ?
Everyone gets inspired in different ways so its hard to say. I usually get ideas when i just start to add ambience and a simple chord progression
@@mhamusic. Okay, thank u man! Maybe i should start with making chords first. :)
Any tips where i can Get soundbanks for vital? I have bought both of yours and need something new🙏🏻😁 I’m one of your biggest fans from Norway🤩

edit: (not first but close)
So close 😭
Where can i find good sample packs, with risers and stuff? For Free or paid.
By remaking do you mean like doing the vocals, Mixing and mastering everything of your fav song?
Try finding/combining (or even making your own) sounds to make the track as similar as possible, yes! Mixing as you go, mastering is not necessary
@@mhamusic. oh thank you so much
So I have to buy sounds...?? 😢
Have you done a study in videography? Those edits inbetween the tips are way too clean
Nope! Thank you! 🙏
Are those headphones are DT ???
which fl studio edition did you bought? like the producer edition, fruity edition etc.
Producer edition i think! Not the most expensive one but the one after that
X-men first class
Use acapellas & build around that
Great way to get a track started 🤙
Oh.. remaking songs helps you learn entire new genres
Exactly!
I don't wanna find new sounds 😭, MHA still drones are so OP
MHA drones > everything

The lengths people go to are unfathomable, but much appreciated 🥶🙏
