    After so many years I have relived all those sensations that The Church was able to transmit, and even today they have surprised me again with their latest works, these guys aged like a good wine, and today it is a pleasure to rediscover their music !! ! long live The Church !!

      No Marty. It sucks balls. Look at Tim's face. Ploog was more aggressive. Best part was Tim said he was too talented to be a "drummer." Guess who is still a "drummer?"

      @@framodcole Sorry for the long post here. I miss Marty so much it hurts. Ian is awesome. Just not Marty. But Marty's new music is so stunning and gorgeous, I'm happy with everything a bit more now. Crap! Peter's gone now too! Ploog is a great studio drummer. Horrible playing live. I saw him. Everything was WAY WAY too fast. I couldn't recognize songs until about halfway thru. Steve & Marty agreed. Tim is a super talent. The Church would have broken up 20+ years ago. Things change. I thought/ think Jay Dee Daugherty was Perfect for Priest=Aura. But FRAMODCOLE my favorite version of The Church was the Seance, Blurred, Heyday era. I love every note of every Church album. Peter's New music is AWESOME too! Peace Out. :)

It's just that he speeches are in the form of music pitch and rythmn. See if you can find a video of his "pub" talks about the history of The Church. One of the finest most genuine speakers that you will hear.

    Problem is, for most Church fans, while Steve is the genius singer/songwriter, and that he clearly was, if not is, Marty was the star. That guy oozed star quality. As did Richard Ploog for that matter. This is effectively a different band from the one most of us loved through the 80s and 90s. And you can only forgive Steve's ego so much…'Miami' is fantastic though...
    I just bought Blurred Crusade remastered on iTunes. So I now have the vinyl, CD and mp3 version of this classic. And they followed it up with Heyday…No band has produced three consecutive albums of such quality, not U2, not even REM.
    Word is the band just didn't want to play the game. As such threw away global superstardom, because they had the songs, and certainly had the looks. I saw them in 83 in London, and they tore the place up. And then fucked off…their manager needs shooting.
    There's a reason Ed Sheeren sold out Wembley this weekend….

      +Anthony Meursault Marty was always the charismatic one in the band, and his playing was definitely a huge part of the band's signature sound, but I also really like this current incarnation of The Church. Peter was the quiet unsung guitar hero of the band, and many of the memorable guitar parts on their material from the '80s were played by him. It's nice to see him getting more of the spotlight now. Also, I think Ian has been a great addition to the band. His guitar-playing has been subtle compared to his style when he was in Powderfinger, but his songwriting contributions are evident on "Deeper/Further." It's my favorite new Church album since "Hologram of Baal."

    • @abelisraelcruzayuso4682
      @abelisraelcruzayuso4682 9 лет назад +4

      +Anthony Meursault In the last years, since Uninvited Like the Clouds, I was seeing Marty more and more detached from the band, in all the footage, and I don't like that. As good a guitarist and musician and element to the band as Marty was, I much prefer this current line-up, where apart from Craig, the 4 Churchies seems to be a tighter unit. Only like this they have had the acclaim they've enjoyed with this record... I can see this line-up working for years...

      I agree with your comments, specially in regards of "quality". Church are still delivering great quality after so many years along the road, definitely higher quality that the recent past and current U2 !in regards to Steve and Marty, I met both of them in different occasions during their solo concerts in Sydney, spoke a word with them. Very nice guys.

    • @jas22
      @jas22 9 лет назад +1

      angelcrossgarden I wondered that recently, and found online Steve stating that Marty was "not available" at the time the recent album had to be put together. I hate these internal animosities in bands I love, but I can't judge. Maybe Marty is depressed - a career in music is all some know. If they get burned out, and want to be alone, it must be like divorcing a family. I'm just speculating. It's wonderful to see a performance of the Church from 2015. I'm sorry that I may never be able to see them again - it's hard to keep abreast of a band that gets no media exposure!

      to change the subject, the last album I've kept up with is Hologram of Baal, and am buying several of the newer stuff. My question is which album resembles Priest = Aura, I love Chaos and The Disillusionist... I'm buying Forget Yourself, After Everything Now This, and Further Deeper

    • @BRicker2
      @BRicker2 9 лет назад +2

      angelcrossgarden Forget Yourself is the closest to P=A as far as pace goes, but they had a different drummer on P=A, so it is not really similar to the other albums. You'll love Forget Yourself (similar to Hologram of Baal).

      @pinkgnu 8 лет назад

    • @gavgams
      @gavgams 8 лет назад +5

      Steve's voice is not at its best with the higher stuff on this live recording ... usually much better. Probably gave it his all the night before ... and this show was at $4.00pm! But songs are great. Have a listen to the studio versions. These guys have made 20+ quality albums and evolved over time creatively, not just re-hash.
