Thank you, Amy, for teaching me where to shade light and dark, what to use, how to use it, and add dimension. Your characters are beautifully colored and “pop”!
You are amazing in watercoloring!
Thank you for this tutorial! I tried this technique today for the first time and figured I needed a little more schooling. I watched many videos tonight and yours taught me the most! Thank you, thank you!
a friend of mine recommended that i view your site she gained loads of inspiration from your work we she was first starting out...I have been doing cardmaking now for a year and love it...But have had a major issue with colouring thank you for showing me a simple way of doing alot of these video seem complicated to use their techniques.can't to now use them...I really love the dragon he is beautiful and i really liked your blog thanks
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I watched it a few days ago and have been coloring like crazy with this technique ever since. Finally - FINALLY!! - I can get the wonderful watercolor look on my images that I was never able to achieve with a brush and water. I'm beyond thrilled and SO VERY THANKFUL that you shared this with us. I'm truly in a silly happy place right now because I feel like I _can_ color; the results are so nice with the Blender Pen.
Two good blender pen brands are Dove and Tombow (I use Tombow). Stampin' Stuff (link in the description) can post worldwide. As for the water brush, try the Niji brushes on the Stampin' Stuff website. They have a little stopper in them which helps keep the water from spilling out everywhere.
Hi Valerie
The watcolour paper I use has the same texture on both sides. I prefer rough because it hides some of the little mistakes whereas smooth seems to show them up more.
I use black Stazon ink and don't heat emboss. You-tube doesn't allow links in comments but there is a video called 'How to Stamp a Clean and Clear Image' where I tell you everything I use (there is a link at 2:02 in this video).
Amy
It's so wonderful to watch you colour! Love those sweet little dragons!
Wow -that has to be the best colouring I have seen - your cards look fantastic
Thanks for answering. I went an checked out your other video! ;)
I thought I would mention that you may want to consider leaving the lids of the H2Os off till they are completely dry. I had the whole set of 199 colors. I wet all of them to do a color swatch of each of them. I put the lids on while they were still wet. I was some time b4 I got them out again and they were all molded. I had to throw them all out. I re-purchased them and now they have 212 colors and I threw away all the lids.
That card is absolutely adorable!!!! You did a fantastic job!
Late to the party but, WOW, this was a great instructional video! Thank you so much for sharing your skill.
Gorgeous and you make it look so easy! Great tutorial.
Wow beautiful incredible how you make those color blend, need to work on that. Love it, thanks for sharing your techniques.
WOW, what an amazing piece of art! I'm absolutely amazed at the depth you were able to create using water based markers! Stunning. Thank you so much for sharing. :-)
Sure. I do sometimes if I don't feel like waiting. Just don't get too close with the gun because I have burnt the paper in the past and it starts to look a little toasted brown.
Love you water coloring and the stamps and cards are amazing! Thank you
Nice tutorial, your watercoloring is wonderful.
I totally agree with what everyone else below said, this is the best video I've seen on how to water color a stamped image using distress inks. I was wondering, does a kitchen tile work better than one of those Tim Holtz craft sheets? I've never seen anyone use a kitchen tile the way you did, it was awesome. The blender pen seems to give much much better results than a watercolor brush when you applied the distress inks. I've been using prismacolor pencils with gamisol, but it doesn't have that true watercolor look that you created with your distress inks and your blender pen. I have the tombow so I will give it a try asap, thanks so very much again.
Personally I use a Tombow Blender Pen and a Niji Waterbrush in 9mm.
beautiful!! i need to practice a lot on this technique. thank you so much for sharing.
they are beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Where have you gone?? I just found your channel... your videos are amazing! I hope you come back and do more!
Very, very informative. Thanks!
Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!
wow ,,,, you make it look soooo easy. thanks for the inspiration :}
Love this... Do you think it would be okay to dry it with the heat gun in between each application??
beautiful picture, and very nice video. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial :)
I was wondering what the little things of the dry shimmer paste are called? what brand are they?
I was also wondering where you got that stamp, what company is it from?
which blending brush or pen marker is the best to use???
Really great job ,, thank you.
Thanks lostinpaper
Wow! This is wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I was curious though...do you color on the smooth or rough side of your watercolor paper? What ink do you stamp with and do you heat emboss the stamp image?
Valerie
Very nice tutorial ! love the dragon stamps !!! where did you buy them?.
