Bethany is a special place for our family. Been going to Bethany for 56 years (and to Dewey Beach when I was little ~ 1955-8 or so). The trip to Bethany has always seemed long because we are always so excited to get there! [Yes, I DO remember the building of the second span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge ~ a miserable but needed project. Always worth it to get there. I am so grateful that my parents brought my sisters and me to this area so we would fall in love with the sea, people, strolling on the beach, listening to concerts on on the bandstand, and going to Funland (in Rehoboth).
