Coming to the party late and didn't read every comment made during the past year so I don't know if anyone mentioned using one or more of those life-saving emergency mylar blankets to use as a reflective surface around the rear of the panel to increase the wattage coming from the back. They are very inexpensive and so thin that they could be folded back up and stuck in the carrying case no problem. I just bought 2 Delta 2 units and 2 of these bifacial panels to use when camping. I'm not going to be carrying large heavy mirrors around with me in the woods, but I'll certainly have some aluminum foil and a couple of those mylar blankets with me on such trips. Could be a very inexpensive way to increase the wattage.
I see you have a part 2 to this review and several people already mentioned using something more reflective to kick start the rear of the panels. Perhaps that was what you review in part 2. I hope so and am going to watch it in a few. Thanks for these informative posts.

    Great video and info.
Recently purchased a Delta and a River Max along with two 110w panels.
In the UK I had the two panels in series on the Delta and was pulling in 152w. Not ideal conditions but pleased with the results.
Tempted by this Bifaced 220w panel as both Ecoflow units can take that one panel in. They don't recommend running different panels in series. The 220w would be used at home and the a 110 panel whilst camping.

Try the panel backwards and see what you can get from that side. I thought the bifacials can only get a fraction of what the front side can get. Maybe call the "bonus watts" lol

I have the 160w EcoFlow solar panel. I think it is a great panel. I am not a huge fan of the case being converted into a stand. Wish it just had the legs like the other brands. The case is absolutely beautiful and well made. The last think I'd really want is it laying in the dirt holding the panel up. I wish this came with a small pouch and the cables weren't so hard and short.
The panel is very well made and seeing it charging with it completely submerged is a huge sell for me!

I had picked up an Allpowers 200W and wasn't really happy with it, stumbled on this video and saw that Amazon had it on sale temporarily for around $370 after a coupon (using the camel site they've done this before a few times), immediately jumped on it. This thing is heavy, but I prefer how rigid and durable it is. I plan on repurposing tent poles to use as a stand and cut a piece of tyvek into a reflective surface to place under the panel to maximize the bifacial capability... they should all be able to fit into the case!

Thanks for the review! Issues I have with all of these fabric panels is that dogs LOVE TO PEE on solar panels and rain isn't these solar panels' favorite thing. We all know that camping adventures usually means dogs are going to be there. I wish they could find different materials to use on these ultra light solar panel units to be more of a care-free design. Overall, I think this solar panel design is pretty poor. The hard frame designs from others like especially Renogy (I like their partially-hard molded case that's super easy to use,) are true set and forget units that handle the any weather, dog pee, and don't cast shadows upon themselves.

It is stated by the manufacturer that the panel will get different power on the back from different reflective surfaces. I bought one the other day and planned to lay an auto sunshade (The reflective silver type) behind it. Have you considered that when the sun is high, not use the kickstand, but instead, somehow lay the panel flat and elevate it a bit so you can take advantage of the backside?

Bifacial so the delta mini (max Amp 10) you just face the 150watt 8 Amp backside upside up! *face palm* its 2 in 1! Literally in the name! 2 of these backside up in series is 300 watt 8.8 Amp max 40ish volt (safe for mini) and flip is upside 440 watt 12 Amp for the max and pro

considering the higher price of this panel for a 220w panel (is putting out barely over 80% at optimum angle) which is only about 10% more efficient than most standard one sided panels operating at about 70% efficiency typical. So paying extra for the "bifacial" side is only getting you 10% better efficiency it seems. I'd luv to drop a blanket on the front side and see what the rear side's total output actually is? Seems gimmicky for an extra 10% efficiency vs the extra price tag.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  2 года назад +1

You probably won't exceed 400 watts because you never get the full wattage of your panels what you want to do is check the voltage if you're connecting in series and make sure you stay under that

Thank you for posting the video but it’s kind of silly to have a bifacial panel if it isn’t mounted the proper height off the ground. Bifacial panels should at minimum be 1 meter off the ground and preferably 2 meters. Mounting them over a surface with a very low albedo doesn’t make much sense either.
These panels are absurdly expensive on a dollar per watt basis as well.

I guess I need to call Ecoflow. I just purchased these and they came in a completely floppy bag. Even when I did finally manage to get them to the recommended angle in full sun, they only generated 171 watts max (6 HOURS charge time) - never made it to 220. It has 3 very cheap floppy brackets that don't hold it up and are not reversible. Very dissapointing.😢

2016wh vs 1024wh, I do like that you can connect the max batteries to the delta 2 but the max has 2 expansion slots the delta 2 only 1, of course the huge difference between both is the delta 2. Is LFP so the batteries will last for years longer
