Totally agreed. Just came from channel of Joel Ericcson (the author of original melody), and he made the new version of very first BF theme (2002). But boy I couldn't listen it to the end. 2022 version to my ears is more aggressive in trumpets and percussive parts. Vanilla version is a masterpiece.
I've never understood how we've worked so far backwards in the name of graphics for battlefield. The naval combat aspect is a much needed add in to the WW2 era, and the "Dreadnoughts" we got in BF1 were a joke. I want the old style artillery guns, with a spotter. Teamwork is what made Battlefield so amazing when it came out. What we have now is a shell. Everyone does their own thing, and we're more or less funneled at objectives.
If they simply remade this game today, but with bigger maps, alot more vehicles per side and 127v127 matches with bots who are competent enough to drive around vehicles itll be a dream game

my father played it back in the days, i was like 9 years old or something, he always said i can play it when im 18, played it anyways someday when he was out of the house :D im 30 now and still love the game! i even love that you can play some of the maps and weapons in BF 2042 Portal
Ah, the days when a game shipped finished, and a DLC meant an expansion with enough to content to match half the base game, and not some gun skin for twenty quids.
At LAN parties the demo version of this game was one of our favorites. Nothing beats shooting your mates airplane out of the sky with a destroyer cannon 😂
I would kill for the days of El Alamain and Midway back, with carriers you could crash into an Island and tanks and planes you have to run to, not a few horses and vehicles about 5 people on a map can use. Bring back spawning, running and big tank battles!!!
