Good looking Mountaineer. I owned a 98 Explorer Sport, 2 door which was the best ride I believe I ever owned. It only had one large leaf spring in the back, so it was a lot smoother ride than the 4 doors. It was loaded as you could get in 98. I hope you have it for many miles ahead...
OK I have a 2000 2wd. Dual in an out muffler and customize the dual exhaust on each side of the spare. Coil over shocks in the rear. Trailer hitch helped. Seats do suck after 20 years and kids, lol! Great video and have fun.
This thing is sick! Probably the most under rated suv/truck out there. I own two high mileage in decent shape that I'm trying to spruce up. Have you taken this rig on more advance off-road trails yet?
There is actually a sensor for washer fluid level and for oil level in that truck. That’s why it shows you that information on the system check. You can see the tap on the side of the oil pan and the washer fluid reservoir
I went to go find the Explorer video but can't find it? (edit I found it) I have an Eddie Bauer 01 Explorer identical to this I V8 swapped, if that's not love for a vehicle I'm not sure what is
I got the same exact truck. Mine’s in a little worse condition but it’s the same color and everything. I bought it from my brother and he straight piped it but I’m gonna fix it among other plans with it
I thought the factory roof bars were there so if it falls over when your out Four Wheel Driving you can pick it up by the handles and put it back on its wheels. 😂👍
If you can find this gen with the V8 under 170, go for it. This only had one owner and around 144 or less when I picked it up and it still runs great. Solid trucks if treated right. Moto helped me take great care of it
@@johnfist100 alright. Yeah I really want one before winter hits. I’ve always had a 4x4 for winter. Last winter I was just running around my VW Passat hahaha. Front wheel drive is not great for Canadian winters.
@@pimpinpenz Get one of these with the V8, I've got one 310K on the original motor and rear end, has had a transmission but for that many miles it's a tank, I just bought a 96 with 140K on it, and have an Eddie Bauer V8 swap with 125K on the donor, really enjoy all mine lol
@@pimpinpenz I'd go with a Mountaineer if I found a clean 5.0 one, there's 2WD and AWD versions, most were AWD from my understanding. They're the same vehicle though outside of trim, the Mountaineer just has more bells and whistles normally
Last owner seems like a great guy!
DAMN THAT TRUCK LOOKS FAMILIAR
@@joefermano5006 GREAT LOOKING TRUCK

Sweet truck, sounds like you’re going to really enjoy having it!

I was looking at yoir old ranger lift video, and to see that you had made a video on my truck (different trim, but same model) made my day
Hard to find that era in even reasonable condition most of the time, most of them got run into the ground! Nice truck.
That truck is in nice shape and should work great for you.

So I could use anything from a ford explorer on this car?
A guy local to me has one thats stock but straight piped. Sounds good too.
does this truck have a lift kit? er nm got the torsion lift
I got a 01 mountaineer n I can't fit my 285 75 16 s without hitting my a arms...

The Mercury Mountaineer Monterey was equivalent to the Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer editon.
You gotta super charge it like the ranger you built!
What size tires are they?
Nice looking rig.
I have a 05 Ford Escape Hybrid with the same exterior color and trim.
Nice ride LDB
I was thinking about buying one of these, or an expedition. Sold all of my trucks and Suvs lol im only driving a car i miss having an suv / truck.
