Dimash shared that, as a 5 year old, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo and he dreamed from that day to have the opportunity to meet him. We Dears waited about a month for this release and we are all so happy. I am sure Dimash appreciated the opportunity to support young artists at the invitation of Maestro Domingo.
I love how the legendary Maestro, Placido Domingo, fully embraces Dimash’s talent, and his ability to sing. Dimash is being publicly embraced by the elite opera/ classical virtuosos. So very touching.

I got the feeling that you don’t know who Plácido Domingo is. Plácido Domingo is a world-renowned, multifaceted artist. Recognized as one of the finest and most influential singing actors in the history of opera, he is also a conductor and a major force as an opera administrator. His repertoire now encompasses more than 150 roles, with over 4000 career performances. I grew up with the legend Plácido Domingo and now to see him singing a duet with Dimash is… I’m lost of words. Also a childhood dream of Dimash came true to share the stage with this legend. 2 legends on stage with one of the most difficult pieces for a tenor opera singer, that’s a duet which will go down in the annals of music history.

John, in your reaction you forgot to mention that Dimash is singing with Maestro Placido Domingo! Dimash would never dream of anyone reacting to this and only mentioning him and not the legendary Maestro Domingo!
There is a part to this that I haven't seen anyone react to, but of course I cannot read other languages besides English, so perhaps it has been mentioned many times. Maestro Domingo is also a famous conductor, and has led many orchestras in settings such as this and larger. Dimash intends his education to also make him a Certified Conductor, so he will also be a Maestro before many more years pass. He is already a composer, so he has to be familiar with the mix of sounds from all the instruments, plus the voice. So this was a HUGE milestone for him, such an honor. Placido Domingo's son (one of them, at least?) is also on the Jury of the Virtuosos, and watched this duet--he is shown briefly when some of the judges are shown reacting. And the Conductor of this--imagine conducting a historical moment, the moment when Placido Domingo and Dimash Qudaibergen sang their first duet. Wonderful for the whole world!!! And today is Maestro Domingo's birthday. What a present, watching the world excited about this duet!!! Thank you, John, for bringing this to us.
Yes I absolutely agree with you! All of us know how respectful Dimash always is and particularly to his elders. Placido is one of his heroes. Di said that singing with him was an honour and he meant it.
@@theablake5911 I well remember the original Three Tenors concerts, Domingo, Carreras, Pavarotti--and can only imagine Dimash's joy as a boy listening to them on tape or record. Now I am old, and am blessed with the world to listen to Dimash singing with Placido Domingo--a wish I didn't know I had until it was realized! Dimash is so much in personality like the son I was not blessed to have--so kind, so respectful, so loving. He is a model for every person. I am so thankful for him, and so glad we have this duet forever. He is my ideal human being, it goes without doubt that Dimash wished Placido Domingo a happy birthday on 21 January. @@karins.902 Alas, I cannot make reaction videos, but I can comment. One thing I did today was look up Placido Domingo and read his partial IMDB and performance history. I was curious about his height, as he seemed almost as tall as Dimash. It turns out, he is 6'3", while Dimash is only a half inch taller!!! I don't know why that surprised me. Height is an asset to a stage performer. I thought their performance together was so beautiful and uplifting on so many levels, and one of those, oddly, was that they virtually matched in height. I hope Dimash's parents were able to see this performance of their so-gifted and hardworking son live. They must have been so proud.
You’re absolutely right about the structure of his mouth, the back of the mouth is very open, the soft palate is raised, the mouth is rounded and the tongue is lowered, yes that description sounds weird to anyone who doesn’t sing or hasn’t sung before, but ironically that’s exactly how I knew Dimash’s voice was real, I watched his mouth, yes I used to sing classically. It automatically deepens the tone or makes it fuller, I guess that’s how you’d describe it IDK 😂. I was So thrilled to see that you had watched this (and Okay), this is such a historic moment in Dimash’s life, and apparently it was Placido’s grandson who introduced Dimash’s voice to Placido from RUclips, so this was all at Placido’s request, which is So Amazing! Dimash s-a întâlnit cu Maestrul Placido Domingo la Budapesta-Ungaria, unde el va avea concert solo pe 4 mai 2024. Întâlnirea a fost cu bucurie pentru ambii. Placido Domingo i-a spus că îl știe de pe RUclips și este uimit că vocea lui Dimash cuprinde 6 octave. Desigur bucuria lui Dimash a fost imensă. Atunci Maestrul i-a propus să facă un duet, dar l-a rugat pe Dimash să fie de acord ca el, Maestrul să cânte în tonalitate de bas, spunandu-i lui Dimash că vocea lui de tenor nu mai este ca în tinerețe. А на оперній сцені досить консервативні порядки, співають завжди однаково, як прописав композитор багато років тому.

Wanted to really point out: People don't realize how MUCH of an honor this was, not only because one of the most beautiful tenors in the world chose him to sing this song, but because he allowed him to take the higher tenor and he chose the lower tenor, because even though his voice is still spectacular even at his young age of 83, it's more difficult for him to sing the higher tenors. That he chose Dimash to share this spectacular operatic song is the HIGHEST of honors and Dimash must be over the MOON. It's exactly where he was fated to be since the day he was born and he's finally arrived. Also, did you notice the stare that Placido gave him towards the end, right after the moment that you mentioned Dimash clenched his fist? Almost like Placido, himself was in awe of the strength of his voice. This was almost too unbearable to watch in it's sheer beauty. it is a wonderful treat to see the legendary placido domingo -- opera singer, conductor, arts administrator -- still perform in his 80s. although he is singing more as a baritone in this duet due to his age, the qualities that has made mr domingo a megastar of the opera world is still there. a true maestro! people sometimes forget that dimash qudaibergen is himself a trained opera singer, and that he was once offered a job at his country's main opera house. so it must have been a thrill for him to be able to perform this classic duet with the maestro!

For a moment I thought you might have tears in your eyes. But maybe I‘m wrong. 😅 In the past I would have never imagined hearing opera and crying. But this is what Dimash does to me. ❤ (And many others) And suddenly I‘m watching a metal vocalist on RUclips watching opera and enjoying it as much as I do. 😂❤ Life can be beautiful that way. 😊 Also: I have heard Domingo before, but I had never listened. John, Dimash es cantante lirico, primero estudio canto lirico y actuación por lógica después estudio canto contemporáneo y para el año 2018 obtuvo el doctorado en composición, Dimash es un gran Maestro lleva 24 años de escenarios y estudios y que decir de la leyenda el gran Maestro Placido Domingo 60 años de carrera. Quien contrato a Dimash para ser parte del jurado de Virtuosos en Hungría no lo se, pero hay un video donde le presentan a Dimash , miralo. Este dueto entre los dos Maestros ya esta en la historia de la Opera.

Maestro Domingo is 81 now and while his voice may not have the power it once did, it's still beautiful. Dimash did a superb job of blending with him. Dimash has obviously been training his voice in the lower registers and seems to be headed to the other end of the keyboard. I have no doubt he will make it.

I'm not a singer or musician, but I was thinking about what you said about his mouth shape. In one part of Stranger he does the same thing. I think, maybe because Classical and Opera singers are typically heavy set, Dimash needs to do something different to be able to breathe and project the sound out of his skinny body. He was able to project at the same volume and speed as Placido. Also, we all know he uses his hands to "talk" to us, but he was just doing a grown up version that befitted this song. A 10 out of 10 performance that is sure to cross some boundaries in listeners

Many years ago I had some vocal training and yeah, my coach used to talk about shaping your mouth and throat like you were yawning. Another technical thing I notice is the way the two of them make their vibratos match up. I know Dimash’s thing is the crazy vocal gymnastics but I’ve been dying to hear him sing just plain opera, and to hear him sing with the great Placido Domingo (my dad’s favorite tenor) just made it that much better. Great reaction, John!

@@karins.902 Alas, I cannot make reaction videos, but I can comment. One thing I did today was look up Placido Domingo and read his partial IMDB and performance history. I was curious about his height, as he seemed almost as tall as Dimash. It turns out, he is 6'3", while Dimash is only a half inch taller!!! I don't know why that surprised me. Height is an asset to a stage performer. I thought their performance together was so beautiful and uplifting on so many levels, and one of those, oddly, was that they virtually matched in height. I hope Dimash's parents were able to see this performance of their so-gifted and hardworking son live. They must have been so proud.

You’re absolutely right about the structure of his mouth, the back of the mouth is very open, the soft palate is raised, the mouth is rounded and the tongue is lowered, yes that description sounds weird to anyone who doesn’t sing or hasn’t sung before, but ironically that’s exactly how I knew Dimash’s voice was real, I watched his mouth, yes I used to sing classically. It automatically deepens the tone or makes it fuller, I guess that’s how you’d describe it IDK 😂. I was So thrilled to see that you had watched this (and Okay), this is such a historic moment in Dimash’s life, and apparently it was Placido’s grandson who introduced Dimash’s voice to Placido from RUclips, so this was all at Placido’s request, which is So Amazing! This was a dream come true for Dimash to sing with Maestro Placido Domingo. To be invited to be a Judge on the Virtuosos in Budapest was a great honour. Dimash will also sing on the 26/1/2023 at the show so we can’t miss that either.

Dimash s-a întâlnit cu Maestrul Placido Domingo la Budapesta-Ungaria, unde el va avea concert solo pe 4 mai 2024. Întâlnirea a fost cu bucurie pentru ambii. Placido Domingo i-a spus că îl știe de pe RUclips și este uimit că vocea lui Dimash cuprinde 6 octave. Desigur bucuria lui Dimash a fost imensă. Atunci Maestrul i-a propus să facă un duet, dar l-a rugat pe Dimash să fie de acord ca el, Maestrul să cânte în tonalitate de bas, spunandu-i lui Dimash că vocea lui de tenor nu mai este ca în tinerețe. Desigur că Dimash a acceptat cu mare bucurie. Maestrul Placido Domingo a împlinit ieri, pe 22 ianuarie, 83 de ani. Mai mare bucurie pentru Dimash nu cred că era decât aceasta, să cânte cu Maestrul. Wanted to really point out: People don't realize how MUCH of an honor this was, not only because one of the most beautiful tenors in the world chose him to sing this song, but because he allowed him to take the higher tenor and he chose the lower tenor, because even though his voice is still spectacular even at his young age of 83, it's more difficult for him to sing the higher tenors. That he chose Dimash to share this spectacular operatic song is the HIGHEST of honors and Dimash must be over the MOON. It's exactly where he was fated to be since the day he was born and he's finally arrived. Also, did you notice the stare that Placido gave him towards the end, right after the moment that you mentioned Dimash clenched his fist? Almost like Placido, himself was in awe of the strength of his voice. This was almost too unbearable to watch in it's sheer beauty. it is a wonderful treat to see the legendary placido domingo -- opera singer, conductor, arts administrator -- still perform in his 80s. although he is singing more as a baritone in this duet due to his age, the qualities that has made mr domingo a megastar of the opera world is still there. a true maestro! people sometimes forget that dimash qudaibergen is himself a trained opera singer, and that he was once offered a job at his country's main opera house. so it must have been a thrill for him to be able to perform this classic duet with the maestro!

John, Dimash es cantante lirico, primero estudio canto lirico y actuación por lógica después estudio canto contemporáneo y para el año 2018 obtuvo el doctorado en composición, Dimash es un gran Maestro lleva 24 años de escenarios y estudios y que decir de la leyenda el gran Maestro Placido Domingo 60 años de carrera. Quien contrato a Dimash para ser parte del jurado de Virtuosos en Hungría no lo se, pero hay un video donde le presentan a Dimash , miralo. Este dueto entre los dos Maestros ya esta en la historia de la Opera.

Pero sin duda los recursos de esa formación le han permitido subir, bajar, dar finales sorprendentes. A mí en lo particular me encantó que compartiera escenario con Plácido Domingo, uno de los tres tenorescmás importantes de este mundo (Pavarotti, Carreras y él). Dimash nos ha mostrado su tesitura natural como tenor en muchos momentos. Fue bello. Ahora esperemos que compondrá para su concierto en Turquía.
Maestro Domingo is 81 now and while his voice may not have the power it once did, it's still beautiful. Dimash did a superb job of blending with him. Dimash has obviously been training his voice in the lower registers and seems to be headed to the other end of the keyboard. I have no doubt he will make it.

I'm not a singer or musician, but I was thinking about what you said about his mouth shape. In one part of Stranger he does the same thing. I think, maybe because Classical and Opera singers are typically heavy set, Dimash needs to do something different to be able to breathe and project the sound out of his skinny body. He was able to project at the same volume and speed as Placido.
Also, we all know he uses his hands to "talk" to us, but he was just doing a grown up version that befitted this song. A 10 out of 10 performance that is sure to cross some boundaries in listeners

Watched this over 35 times. Chills every time. I read he learned that aria and lyrics in 1 day. Not surprised. He's a genius.
Many years ago I had some vocal training and yeah, my coach used to talk about shaping your mouth and throat like you were yawning. Another technical thing I notice is the way the two of them make their vibratos match up. I know Dimash’s thing is the crazy vocal gymnastics but I’ve been dying to hear him sing just plain opera, and to hear him sing with the great Placido Domingo (my dad’s favorite tenor) just made it that much better.
