Wow. I've never heard about any of this and it's obviously incredibly disappointing to hear. Thanks for bringing it to my attention and of course I understand your skipping this one. I hope these folks that he hurt can find peace and that he's changed in the years since (I know the most recent article is from two weeks ago, but the accusation seems to be older). That's really, really crushing. Thank you@@susannariera
Congrats to you, Cedric, on the success of the musical Shakespeare! My favorite part of this duet is that final note, with its sublimely paired vibrato in perfect synch. A little background: Maestro Placido and Dimash met at this Virtuosos event as huge fans of each other. Domingo's grandson insisted that his gramps watch a video of Dimash, which immediately hooked Placido. He related this anecdote in an interview, and stated that he felt he had to meet Dimash and sing a duet with him. We all know that Maestro Placido has always been an inspiration for Dimash. Thanks for this reaction/analysis, and best wishes on the final performances.
It was wonderful to see you tonight (closing night) in Something Rotten! I was happy to meet you at the stage door and to hear you discuss how you used a technique you learned from Dimash 💜 Cedric, you are a very talented actor and vocalist, and I hope you are enjoying living your dream. Fingers crossed for the best of negotiations for season two of The Coroner's Assistant! As always, thank you for sharing your reactions and analyses of Dimash!
I grew up with Plácido Domingo and Dimash is my favorite singer now. To see them sing together was my emotional meltdown. Not only Dimash’s dream came true but mine too. I love your reactions. Thank you!
Dimash is a master at matching his vocals & his vibrato with his singing partner. We have seen this in a number of his duets. He is also a very generous partner in that he never tries to overpower a partner. He is a master! Thank you 😊🙏💞
Wow!!! Bravo!!! Perfect duet Dimash with Maestro Placido Domingo. Love your reactions, Cedric. The harmony, the power and respect and artistry. Legendary. Another dream come true for Dimash. Placido is more equivalent to Dimash's grandfather's age. His beloved grandfather past away June of 2023. I caught a video of when Placido and Dimash met for this Virtuoso judging event. Placido was so excited when he recognized Dimash, and told Dimash his grandson follows him. Then of course Dimash told Placido how it's such a huge honor for him to work with the maestro, because when he was 5 years old, he saw and listened to the 3 tenors and he said to Placido, "I came to music because of you" Only love and respect for Dimash. Dear from PA USA🥰
This piece has given me chills since the first time I heard it sung by Luciano Pavarotti and Marcello Giordani in the Pavarotti Plus concert in 1991. Now my dream has come true hearing Dimash and the master sing it. Thank you for taking your time to react to it! Greetings and best wishes to you from Roseburg, Oregon.
This was a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHC of a concert of Maestro Domingo and dreamed from that time to meet and work with him. I am sure Dimash appreciated the opportunity to be a judge on the Virtuoso program to support young classical artists at the invitation of Maestro Domingo. We hope all Dimash's dreams come true and we will be here to support him.
Maestro Placido also spoke in an interview that this was a dream come true for him, too. One day, his grandson took his phone and insisted that Placido watch a Dimash video that wowed him. From that moment, the Maestro also became a fan and wanted to sing a duet with Dimash. This mutual admiration, respect and love for each other is tenable in every note they are singing in this duet.
Thank you for another wonderful reaction! You always present eloquent and educated information with your reaction videos. This is certainly an epic performance by two of the greatest voices ever! I am sure Pavarotti was smiling down from Heaven during this performance! And, yes, this is one Dimash's childhood dreams come true. 🎶♥️🎶♥️🎶♥️
I don’t know if this is true but one reactor says that A) Domingo asked Dimash to do this one day before the concert, and they had one single rehearsal, and B) Dimash had the flu when he did this. If true it’s even more crazy how good this sounds.
It's true, there are two videos that prove the facts, when Domingo meets Dimash it was like seeing someone who didn't see time, and after mutual words of admiration he told Dimash that they were going to sing together, that he could no longer sing as a tenor and he was going to sing as a baritone, so Dimash would be the tenor, there were like a couple of days to make this recording between the two of them. And there's another video where Dimash is seen coughing from a nuisance in his throat.
It was arranged a very long time in advance. Most professional performers only rehearse the day before for the first time. It's just to pull everything together. Dimash was a bit sick about two weeks before this but had recovered. He had a slight cough, but nothing that caused problems.
Thank you Cedric! Dimash is a chameleon, and looks different with each song. He becomes the song. This performance is wonderful. Placido (now 83) asks Dimash (will be 30 in May) the day before to do a duet with him! They had one practice. The Virtuoso show is incredible and you would enjoy seeing it! It is in 2 parts and shows very talented and dedicated young people singing and playing instruments. Dimash and Placido were judges. It is great to see your reaction and hear your take on what is going on with their singing and voices. Dimash is wonderful in duets. He is very attentive to whoever he is singing with at the time. He never overpowers, but is all about the song and the duet.
Of course he did not ask a day before, even if it may sound like that in the video where they talk. TV shows don't happen like that. But it is true they could only rehearse together very shortly before the recording. It is even more amazing giving that Dimash does not usually perform opera, or bel canto, to be able to pull off a duet with none other than Placido Domingo o_O
👉 The world stands still for this moment and everyone holds their breath. A singing teacher calls them the two musical titans...yes, yes, yes! This duet was Dimash's dream and it is coming true. What an honor for our beloved Dimash and a great joy for Maestro Domingo…. And I was bathed in tears of joy. I'm sooo happy. Dimash was asked to participate as a judge in the Young Classical Musicians Competition... and then... he gifted us Dears with this wonderful jewel. Maestro Domingo invited Dimash to sing the duet with him the day before. Dimash only had a short night to learn this song in French... and what's more, Dimash had a cold with a cough. (You notice it more in the second song at the end of the concert.) Dimash is well-mannered and respectful. He would never overpower Maestro Domingo (still 82 at this point) with his voice. He even adjusts with the color of his voice. Dimash opens a new world to many Dears... the world of classical music. You should definitely watch the video (look at the end of the comment)... so many young, talented musicians and the sensitive assessment of the jurors... Great!!! ... and the legendary duet of Maestro Domingo and Dimash Qudaibergen! * Plácido Domingo (*1941 Madrid/Spain) is already a legend today. He is a world-renowned, versatile artist and is considered one of the best and most influential singers in opera history, with more than 150 roles and over 4,000 performances celebrated by audiences on stages around the world. He sings tenor and baritone and was one of the three tenors with Carreras and Pavarotti in the 90s. Maestro Domingo is also a conductor and promoter of young talent, winner of 12 Grammy Awards and recipient of honorary degrees and awards for his humanitarian work. Good heavens, what a post. I'm confident that Cedric knows all this though. Dimash would have known this song from a long time ago. He didn't learn it just before the performance. He already spoke to his teacher about it last year. He was a bit sick two weeks before this. He just had a slight cough which can easily be controlled with some breathing exercises that he already learned as a teenager. Don't forget that Domingo is an accomplished opera singer. They train to project their voices over a full symphony orchestra without microphones, which is something Dimash hasn't done yet. To say that Dimash could easily overpower him is simply an assumption.
Thanks much, Cedric, for reacting to this song 🙏🙏🙏 You are one of my favourite reactor to Dimash's music and artistry...of course, this one is doubly beautiful with maestro Placido Domingo sharing the stage with Dimash 😍🎼🤩 As some other commenters have already mentioned...can you believe it??? Dimash practised this song for only one day and they rehearsed together only once before this performance...it's mindboggling❣❣❣
This is a duet for a tenor and a baritone, and although they are both tenors, Domingo is doing the baritone part here because he doesn't have that high extension needed for the higher tenor parts anymore (but it's amazing he still sounds like that at his age). Actually, the tenor part is the main one here (as it is often is in operas). Just a gorgeous duet! Thank you for the beautiful reaction.
Placido did tell Dimash that he had lost his top notes with age, so it's also natural that he would sing the lower parts. He did that magnificently. Dimash is the one in the duo with the ringing tenor voice at this moment in time.
Dimash sounded magnificent singing with the great maestro Placido who invited him to sing two days prior. Dimash had been sick & had quite a cough at the time. However, the next day they had a rehearsal & voila, their masterpiece. It was a dream for Dimash & a real joy for us Dears to see these two realize our hopes and dreams. Thank you very much Cedric. Love your reactions to Dimash. ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Love your reactions. For those who didn't see it, we have something fabulous to look forward to in the next season of Virtuosos, according to a recent interview with the producer. Most know the Three Tenors....Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti. Next season Domingo and Dimash will be back but also joined by Carreras! I'd bet anything Dimash will be a third tenor with Domingo and Carreras for at least one song. This duet is a true masterpiece.
Thanks for another amazing analysis of Dimash and Placido singing this beautiful song. The show they were performing this was the Virtuosos classical music competition for amazing young artists who are going to be the ones to carry on classical music in the future. It was an absolute joy to watch this show and listen to the spectacular performance by these artists. I cried during several performances . “ Heal the World “ is also a video from this same show, it’s performed by Dimash, Placido DomingoJr, Amelia Anisovych, 9 year old girl from Ukraine, and two other wonderful opera singers. If you don’t have time to make another reaction video, just go listen to this by yourself, it’s something everyone should see. Happy to know you have been busy. You’re looking very good, love to see the SMILE.🎼🎶🎤❤️😊
Hi, Cedric! Yes, It was a gorgeous Duet, one of a kind. Dimash's dream come true. He always dreamed that one day he will sing, with Maestro Plácido Domingo. And that day came, when the great tenor asked Dimash to sing with him. And the result, an epic and great Duet, in the great stage of Virtuosos. Thanks for your great reaction. 🙏🙏 Lots of success for you. Greetings from Puerto Rico. 👋🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷💖
Cuidate ❤
Dimash showed his greatness here. Awe inspiring. Soaring voice. I have no words for how wonderful this was. Maestro Domingo still with an amazing voice. Incredible . 🙏❤️
This is a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert by Maestro Domingo. He dreamed from then to now to meet and work with the Maestro. This was part of a program called Virtuosos, which supports young classical artists. Dimash was invited to be a judge on the program by Maestro Domingo. I know he appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. We are all do proud of him and hope all his dreams come true. Dimash learned this in one day and had only one rehearsal.
Placido Domingo, born Jan. 21, 1941 and Dimash, born May 24, 1994 singing this classic duet on December 10, 2023. So there's 53 years between them, let that sink in for a moment. Placido's voice is still wonderful at age 82 in this clip. Maestro Placido Domingo was of course 1 of the Three Tenors (with Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras). Here's a clip of him from Dimash's year of birth 1994, when he was 53: ruclips.net/video/nR6CIYgEJbE/видео.html and an undated one ruclips.net/video/5-AF1T4OehM/видео.html Puccini: Tosca, "E lucevan le stelle"
Hola Cedric!
I’m amazed at the quality of this reviewers voice throughout a wide vocal range- because he has a fine voice his commentary is excellent and he understands the difficulty of Dimash’s performance. Very fine job! I’d like to hear him sing solo some time? “He gets it”
Great reaction Cedric! 👍 This duet was stunning! The orchestra, the harmonies and maestro Domingo with Dimash, two legends together delighting the audience everywhere!!! Goosebumps … the standing ovation was really moving 🥲 so proud of our beloved Dimash 💙💛🔝🎤🥇👏👏👏👏
Many bel canto teachers have verified that Dimash brings a cross interpretation between rigid classical singing (which must follow norms and exactly as the author of the piece wrote, from the notes and durations, the portamentos, the expressiveness... Everything) and much more popular flexibility. For purists, let's remember that Dimash had the dream of singing with Plácido Domingos since he was a child and it was the Maestro himself, Don Domingos, who suggested the duet (he knew that even with classical training, Dimash would sing as a cross between classical and pop )! Dimash only had one day to remember the work and make the recording, as this moment is part of the competition (like a talent show) for children with musical talent: The “Virtuosos”! Dimash, as well as Placido Domingos, were part of the Jury, accompanied by Erika Miklósa (opera singer), Adrás Keller (violinist, conductor and musical director of the Budapest Concert), Hauser (cellist), Plácido Domingos Jr. composer), Pablo Sanz Villegas (classical guitarist), Gabriela Rachid (cultural director) and Harvey Goldsmith (music promoter)! The show was in Budapest (Hungary) from January 16th to 26th this year, 2024!
Me gusta tu expresividad.
Orquestra maravilhosa! 👏🏽👏👏🏿👏🏼👏🏾👏🏻🎶♥️♥️🇧🇷🇧🇷🕊🕊
Hi, Love your reaction vids to Dimash. As you stated in your reaction to Across Endless Dimensions. Dimash is the best vocalist in the world, yes I agree. However, Taylor Swift is coming to Australia next week and will be singing in the Victorian MCG stadium. This stadium holds 100,000 people, and she expects to fill it to full capacity. And yet Dimash who is considered the best voice in the world, and who would make Taylor Swift look very ordinary if he sang next to her, can't even manage to get a mention in the latest U.S. Grammy Awards. Does the U.S. population not even know if he exists?
I think that, unfortunately, this is true. He could easily fill any venue, but I don't know of any in the US that big. Sadly some people, when watching him now, with whatever reactor, say. I have never heard of him . Also some have never heard of Placido Domingo.!
Little by little the American population is noticing Dimash. And one by one they become enchanted by such a brutal voice. What’s the difference with Tylor Swift? She’s a good American performer under the label of UMG (Universal Music Group), the most powerful record company in the world. Instead, Dimash is an extraordinary singer but Kazakh and independent artist. In other words, in addition to the artist talent, there's a "highest level marketing machine." So, in my humble opinion and despite the disadvantages, Dimash has achieved overwhelming success. But this is only the beginning... the best is yet to come.😌
Your joy was so delightful. My reactions are similar to yours. Your eyes sparkle. When music is part of your soul, it soars with the singers and music. I see that in you. I'm 75 yrs old and come from a family of singers and musicians. What a privilege to hear these 2 voices together. It's an astounding gift. Fantastic!
You're great at pointing out details I missed. I was wondering how they did such a clean break at the end. I saw Placido looking at Dimash but missed the hand gesture while I focused on his face. Anyway, thanks for another well-done reaction. BTW, I've watched the linked episodes of The Coroner's Assistant. Quirky, funny, unpredictable and intriguing. You have an appealing presence on screen; I wish you well in your career.

Thank you for a *stellar* reaction&analysis! Your knowledge, dedication and presentation are unmatched IMO. And it was lovely to see how much you enjoyed it and got out of the performance. (Oh, the lucky people who got to witness this in person!!) Take care :)
Good reaction/analysis. I watched the whole Virtuso competition and much enjoyed it. Dimash was one of the judges, along with Placido Domingo, Hauser, and others. The duet wasn’t really a concert, just an interlude. Loved it.
Couldn't wait for your reaction to this duet and you didn't disappoint. What an exemplary musical moment. Thank you for your wonderful analysis. I love Something Rotton and I'll bet you kill it as Shakespeare. Dears in the area go see this!!!

More than 50 years between them, but what a harmony. You can feel their mutual respect and almost tenderness to each other. Beautiful Thank you so much for such an intelligent and emotional reaction
So wonderful to enjoy your insightful and fantastic reaction to this beautiful duet.🌹 That show that you are playing Shakespear does look really fun.❤ 🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
Hi Cedric, wanted to tell you about Dimash's latest release 😮😊 it's really fantastic, even tho it's done for the Travel Ministry. I know you will love it. Sorry, I don't have Instagram or Patreon. Hope u get to it soon.
This was the reaction I wanted for this performance. Thank you. So much information so much emotion and the comparison between the pearl and the woman was interesting. And all of that without coffee? 😉 Good luck with your show! I would come if I was in the states.
I do hope you have time to react to Dimash's new vampire video. (I couldn't imagine him doing such a thing!) It just came out on Feb. 26. Although I don't like vampires or horror movies, I DO like watching others enjoy Dimash's works!
Thank you 😊🙏💞
Beautiful perfect harmony of bothe Placido Domingo and Dimash. It’s dream come true for Dimash as he is a great admirer of the elder tenor. Love it.
Wow!!!
Bravo Plácido Domingo and Dimash!!!! and congratulations for you too Cedric Gegel 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Many thanks!!
Thanks Dimash,
I’m listening to opera ❤️
I don’t know if this is true but one reactor says that A) Domingo asked Dimash to do this one day before the concert, and they had one single rehearsal, and B) Dimash had the flu when he did this. If true it’s even more crazy how good this sounds.
It's true, there is a video as Domingo saw Dimash for first time
It's true, there are two videos that prove the facts, when Domingo meets Dimash it was like seeing someone who didn't see time, and after mutual words of admiration he told Dimash that they were going to sing together, that he could no longer sing as a tenor and he was going to sing as a baritone, so Dimash would be the tenor, there were like a couple of days to make this recording between the two of them. And there's another video where Dimash is seen coughing from a nuisance in his throat.
Yes I saw that too
Yes it's true
It was arranged a very long time in advance. Most professional performers only rehearse the day before for the first time. It's just to pull everything together. Dimash was a bit sick about two weeks before this but had recovered. He had a slight cough, but nothing that caused problems.
Its so beautiful❤to see Dimash perform with an opera legend was on my bucket list, now i can cross that off. One happy soul here! thanks CG❤
One rehearsal!? To produce this synergy?! The stamp of consumate professionals - both. What a gift to us all.
True professionals :) @@linmonash1244
(You notice it more in the second song at the end of the concert.)
Dimash is well-mannered and respectful.

Thank you sooooo much for the links Dearest! ❤🙏🥰🎶💐❤️
Thanks much, Cedric, for reacting to this song 🙏🙏🙏 You are one of my favourite reactor to Dimash's music and artistry...of course, this one is doubly beautiful with maestro Placido Domingo sharing the stage with Dimash 😍🎼🤩
As some other commenters have already mentioned...can you believe it??? Dimash practised this song for only one day and they rehearsed together only once before this performance...it's mindboggling❣❣❣
Thank you Cedric! It was wonderful listenning with you to this piece of art! ❤
Wonderful duet from 2 singing masters , emotional performance , bravo Maestro Domingo and Dimash !!!
Thank you, Cedric. I enjoyed watching this performance with you. Wishing you success in everything you do. God bless.
the fact that the great placido domingo is still performing in his 80s is a true gift to music lovers!
❤❤❤❤Dimash is the best in this universe! ❤❤❤❤
Cuidate ❤

Dimash showed his greatness here. Awe inspiring. Soaring voice. I have no words for how wonderful this was. Maestro Domingo still with an amazing voice. Incredible . 🙏❤️
What a beautiful duet by two great singers from different generation. Thank you for your nice reaction.
Cedric, your voice is lovely❤ Dimash higher notes are so tear-producing-ly sweet🥰
Thank you!
I have never heard anything so sublime Bravo Dimash. Splendid👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 And of course Don Plácido Domingo too. Great voices
Heal the World - Dimash Qudaibergen, P.Domingo Jr, Miklósa, Nechayeva, Čulič, Anisovych, on the same show Finale!
Thank you for the links, I watched them both.
Hola Cedric!
Excellent reaction. I love listening to your opinions . Good luck in everything you do .. from England xx😊
Thank you so much!!
The passing of the baton. Epic!
Bravo 👏👏👏👏 Dimash y Placido Domingo un duo increible.
❤❤❤
Dimash🇰🇿❤ reaction ❤️👍🏻

Amazing and historic performance! ❤
Hi, Love your reaction vids to Dimash. As you stated in your reaction to Across Endless Dimensions. Dimash is the best vocalist in the world, yes I agree.
However, Taylor Swift is coming to Australia next week and will be singing in the Victorian MCG stadium. This stadium holds 100,000 people, and she expects to fill
it to full capacity. And yet Dimash who is considered the best voice in the world, and who would make Taylor Swift look very ordinary if he sang next to her, can't even
manage to get a mention in the latest U.S.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!!! I'm so proud of that show. I appreciate your support and am so glad you enjoyed both that and this video!
Good afternoon from Barcelona. Amazing this duet, song ang music. GOOSEBUMPS. 🎼❤🎼❤🎼❤🥰
Thank you Cedric 💖Beautiful ❤
Dimash learned that in one day. Such a genius in the company of another legend. I must have watched this 50 times, so gorgeous.
How do u know he learned it in 1 day?
It was funny, when you said you found yourself grinning from ear to ear even while editing, i realised i had been grinning at you grinning the whole time 😁 (I'm in a public place, too) That is a great cycle, haha!
Thank you for a *stellar* reaction&analysis! Your knowledge, dedication and presentation are unmatched IMO. And it was lovely to see how much you enjoyed it and got out of the performance. (Oh, the lucky people who got to witness this in person!!) Take care :)
Haha I love that! The more we can smile, right? Thank you so so much!!!
Always like when you pop up! Love your reactions to Dimash.
Good reaction/analysis. I watched the whole Virtuso competition and much enjoyed it. Dimash was one of the judges, along with Placido Domingo, Hauser, and others. The duet wasn’t really a concert, just an interlude. Loved it.
Love, love, love this.
Maravillosa interpretación. 👏 👏 👏Saludos desde Panamá 🇵🇦
My sincerest condolences to you and your family. 💔
Thank you so much.

Hi Cedric, wanted to tell you about Dimash's latest release 😮😊 it's really fantastic, even tho it's done for the Travel Ministry. I know you will love it.
Sorry, I don't have Instagram or Patreon. Hope u get to it soon.
It also fits to the story of the pearl fishers duett. Friends who became adversaries over a woman and found back together as friends.
This was the reaction I wanted for this performance. Thank you. So much information so much emotion and the comparison between the pearl and the woman was interesting. And all of that without coffee? 😉
Good luck with your show! I would come if I was in the states.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I do hope you have time to react to Dimash's new vampire video. (I couldn't imagine him doing such a thing!) It just came out on Feb. 26. Although I don't like vampires or horror movies, I DO like watching others enjoy Dimash's works!
