I recently bought a jody jazz dv 6 for alto and have had a really tough time getting it to sound good. Its really prone to squeaking for some reason. Any ideas why that could be?
@@jodyjazzofficial Im currently using vandoren 3’s, they sound better then the 2.5’s im using but im noticing that the width of the actual reed is bigger then the width of the mouthpiece. Is that normal? Im thinking that could be the cause for the slight squeakiness
@@mikeyeyey8678 I haven't found or jeard from people any tendencies to squeaking. The Legere clarinet European cut started a trend of the reed being wider than the mouthpiece and it performs great. The American cuts follow that trend. I find a Vandoren works well for me but I use select Jazz.
This gave me goosebumps!
Sounds amazing Mike. Great soulful playing
Channeling Coltrane "A Love Surpreme" thank you brother.
