I haven’t worn hijab 🧕 except to the masjid/etc. but I have been collecting more hijabi/modest clothing. Please pray for me that Allah swt gives me strength to get to the point that I’ll be wearing hijab. I love you ladies. Salaam

NO “ladies’HIJAB” found in the Quran. -
(The word HIJAB is used in the Quran but NOT for ladies.)
Check these Ayath/verses that they say have Hijab in them. (But not found)
      In Quran 33.59 -
      “ … JILBABs over themselves…”
      in Quran 24.31 -
      “… KHIMARs over the JAYBs..”
The word is KHIMAR in the Quran.24.31
      - Root Meaning of KHIMAR is just a COVERING,
it can also be a neck scarf, any scarf, dupatta, chadar, etc.
There is no head, hair, veil, niqab or any such importance in the Quran,
They have SHIFTED the IMPORTANCE away from the JAYB.
      Check the transliteration
      in Quran 24.31:
      “yadribna bi’Khumur’ihinna ala juyoob’ihinna”
      [Plurals : khumur, juyoob]
      // *..put-forth COVERINGs OVER THE JAYBs…*//
      KHIMAR = COVERING
      and
To verify JAYB from the Quran
      check this example in
      //Quran 28.32
      “…. yadaka fee jayb’ika …”. //
“… put your hand in your Jayb..”
(clearly a pocket or opening in the dress)
(or) some people translate it as chest/ bosoms coz that’s where they understand the Jayb is.
Again, please see where the importance is in the verse:
      “put-forth COVERINGs over the JAYBs”
      - but the EXPLANATIONS of ‘Sect’ /Firqa leaders promoted the concept of ladies’HIJAB
      - by adding it in books written much later after the Quran AND by adding words with brackets in translations and explanations - gradually shifting the importance of COVERING the Jayb
      - giving importance away from the Jayb seems like DISTRACTION from the main EMPHASIS.
AND also - these Firqa leaders wrote the Dictionary centuries later to push their meanings
      - please ask them : when and who wrote the Dictionary that they show their meanings from?
We should not accept new meanings to the words after the word is used in the Quran
      - in the present era the meanings can be understood by checking the same word usage within the Quran
      - see where the word is used again.
QURAN is it’s own DICTIONARY within it - (by using the important words in other verses and locking the meanings).
They should know when the same root word is used for khumr/intoxicants even then it’s used for “COVER”
      - - any KHUMR /- intoxicant or alcohol
COVERS the ability INSIDE THE MIND - -
Please NOTE : khumr /intoxicants/ALCOHOL does NOT cover the HAIR or outer-head.
How can a religion claiming to be for the whole world - promote desert clothing for far off freezing lands?
They’re Spreading culture and calling it religion - They took the desert clothing that is needed in sand storms and called it religion
OTHER religious groups were ALREADY wearing it in the desert.
IF anyone wants TO FOLLOW WORDS OF ALLAH then they should verify with the Quran - coz every secondary source should match with the Quran
AND they should not add words in translations.
      JILBAB:
Means any decent OUTER CLOTHING worn above the under-garments - it’s plural is JALABIB
The verse in the Quran 33.59 is about JILBAB - it’s about wearing outer clothing - where it also says that “they can be RECOGNISED and NOT HARASSED”
Here the condition is to be recognised :
how will anyone RECOGNISE if you cover fully?
      - So avoid tight clothing - it’s really simple as per Quran.
Wearing clothes that the security personnel and other people are scared of coz they cannot recognise the person inside - as a result you face difficulty and then that results in feeling harassed.
Check the verse Q.33.59 below and remember that some translations or interpretations have added words in brackets - so look at Arabic /or word-to-word translation to VERIFY, yes VERIFY.
      “… alay’ihinna min jalabib’ihinna… “
      (Plural-is JALABIB)
      //Quran 33.59
O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their JILBABs over themselves .
In this way it is more likely that they will be RECOGNISED
      and not be HARASSED.
And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful//
      --
Notice it’s only talking about properly covering themselves - there is NO emphasis on head, hair, face covering in this verse also.
      -
Some of them will not VERIFY what is in the Quran - word by word.
And you may get to see how they will jump to start calling IGNORANT and names to the person showing them the research.

Oh ok, I will try and put together what’s in the above comment about Q33.59, if that helps.
      JILBAB:
Means any decent OUTER CLOTHING worn above the under-garments
(not necessarily a third layer of clothing)
The verse in the Quran 33.59 is about JILBAB - it’s about wearing outer clothing - where it also says that “they can be RECOGNISED and NOT HARASSED”
Here the condition is to be recognised :

@@sam_mirza what is your argument brother? what exactly are you againts? is what God says not clear enough. and please dont change the quran verses lmao.
"Wearing clothes that the security personnel and other people are scared of coz they cannot recognise the person inside - as a result you face difficulty and then that results in feeling harassed" what does this even mean bro lmaooo. You are meant to cover your awrah, and for a woman their awrah is evrything except face and hands. How you observe hijab is your choice however there is a clear and correct way. Observing hijab is also how you behave and carry yourself.

Im not a muslim and I wear the hijab.🧕🏻 I literally started to wear it this senior year. I don’t like showing my hair and I feel naked without it. It was hard for me to put it on because I was afraid of judgment at school because im literally a white girl wearing a hijab. My family didn’t approve whatsoever because they aren’t a part of any religion. I even went to my church wearing it. I was so happy that no one judged me. I like wearing it and I feel Secure.

For me, its a challenge and its a scary because my mum and some of my cousins are not used to wearing hijab. However, thanks to Allah. I finally able to convinced my mum after 4 years to let me wear hijab. She told me 5 days ago that if I am sure and want to wear hijab. Then, wear it May/June 2020. Hijab is a decision and it involves whether you are ready and brave to wear it.
Believe me, its not an easy decision but once I made the decision 4 years ago and finally get my mum's blessing. The feeling is none other than excited and rest assured. I feel at ease now because finally I am able to do what I know is supposed to be the right thing to do after reach certain age but its just that I and my mum denied it for years because we felt insecure and scared that life will get harder.
I understand that hijab does not mean that I am the most pious person but instead its for me to remind myself about certain things, protect me (my body and myself) from weary/evil eyes and having a physical connection to Allah S.W.T.
I think I made the decision about wearing hijab and keep on convincing my mum when only I am able to understand that.
I hope you will be able to make the decision someday or soon. Wish you the best.

This literally made me feel teary eyed because I feel exactly exactly the same. I love getting support when I myself struggle, instead of the 'take it off' people because those people hurt me and make it harder to fight this fight. What Tala said, that the prophets and his companions struggled so much to establish our religion, and we women are carrying that legacy onward...I got chills. I love you ladies

I hope this helps someone who is considering to wear the hijab. I would wear the hijab to the masjid, to the Sunday school and during the month of Ramadan. Soon I started wearing the turban because I was too scared to put the scarf on my head and after about 4 or 5 months, I started wearing the scarf. It was a two-year process and it did not happen overnight but I knew I wanted it and it just felt right. It takes time to feel comfortable and not notice the stares you get but what keeps me going is the feeling of peace in my heart that I got after putting the hijab on so I choose that heart comfort over the society comfort...if that makes sense.

I also definitely understand what Omaya means when she says she missed the attention. I never had the attention because I was so young when I started wearing hijab, but I can't say I didn't want it. I'm ashamed to say that I even took it off for a few days out of frustration. But now it's back on, and it's on for good inshallah! It's so comforting to know that other women struggle too! Tysssssssssssssssm for making this video. And pleeeease continue making videos with Tara!!

The number of adverts throughout this video was excessive undeniably. However, the topics mentioned were truly amazing and highly relatable. For a very long time, I myself have had issues with maintaining my hijab & modest dressing, often feeling like what I was experiencing was an isolated case, but I'm very happy to know that it is more common than I once predicted, I'm very grateful for all your advice with that the sharing of your personal experiences and journey, which have made me feel less overly conscious of my own experiences.

I freaking love this video as a hijabi everything that you guys addressed was important, logical and inspiring to the point were today i was at uni for the third day as its my first year, a women (non hijabi) was complimenting a hijabi behind me and was questioning why shes wearing it when she looks so beautiful and would look much more pretty with her hair out. I could tell the hijabi wasn't able to really answer her question so i actually went up to them and i remembered Tara/Tarta (not sure how to spell it sorry) words and i re-phrased them and she was very very astonished by my response and wished more people knew the reasoning behind it instead of judging us. Thankyou for the video i loved it so much!!

I have a very different, but also a little the same, situation when it comes to clothing. I was raised in an extremely modest home, and even when you o something from a very young age, at some point, you get older and have to decide "why am I doing this?" and "will I continue?" I find a LOT, that the way I dress DEFINITELY removes attention from me. But I've gotten so used to it. And proud of it! A mentor of mine says "When you dress in the 'modern way', you're like a light bulb, providing a lot of flashy light. when you dress modestly, you become a laser, focusing yourself and others on your inside, on what really counts."

I have worn hijab since I was 11/12 years old. I am 36 now. I have always worn it. The only time I have taken it off is when I have been on holiday 2 or 3 times. Where there are few Muslim as I didn't want to have dirty looks or punched in the face. I am struggling in the least year to take it off. Just so i can style my hair and let my hair out in the sun. I don't know why Allah had to make it wajib for us to cover our hair. After all hair is not a private part. I don't know I might take it off and be a part time hijabi. Struggle is real!

I find this so sad. That anybody would live life according to "someone else's"(sorry I don't believe in any religion) standards, just because this is the right thing to do according to their religion. If you are ok with certain things your religion is telling you to do, sure go ahead. But why should you keep doing something if it makes you unhappy? This is YOUR life, your ONE AND ONLY life. From what I know about all gods is that they are supposed to be loving and understanding. So technically they shouldn't be mad at you, so long you still believe and are a good person. No?

I’m new to Islam and I live in a very small town in British Columbia Canada where everyone knows everyone. At first I thought I will enter Islam but I will never wear hijab because I don’t want everyone in my town to notice the changes about me .
A few weeks later after I said my shahadah , I found myself wearing hijab. I don’t know why or how but it is what it is and I’m proud of it although sometimes I got a weird or surprised look from people who knows me . I just believe that it’s Allah’s call and he’s guiding me through to the right path.

The hardest part of wearing hijab is dealing with the various reactions I got from friends and family, especially when the start realizing that I’m slowly reverting to Islam. Some are supportive and some, not so much. Some friends have cut ties based on my decision to wear something that makes me more comfortable. I started wearing off and on various turbans and scarves at 34 after an accident, I’m now 39 and wear it almost all the time. I feel naked without it. Sometimes I feel the need to tone it down and look more Western when I’m around certain people…. It can be difficult to ease people into the change, i’m still the same person, I’m just look slightly different.

Its always easier to start at a young age cuz when you're young you're still adapting to life and trying to figure who you really are while if you get older you already have a system thats in place and its always harder to get to new habits if you're older, we have a saying in arabic thats an old cat doesn't learn meaning its very hard to change habits once you got older that obviously goes for everything not just the hijab. as a guy i don't claim to know anything of how it feels to wear a hijab but i know its harder to change when you're older and go out of your comfort zone.

Things will get harder or might not be. However, I feel at ease now because it feels like a burden of uncertainty about hijab has been lifted from my shoulder and mind.
I understand that hijab does not mean that I am the most pious person but instead its for me to remind myself about certain things, protect me (my body and myself) from weary/evil eyes and having a physical connection to Allah S.W.T.
I think I made the decision about wearing hijab and keep on convincing my mum when I am finally able to understand that.

Kat Mckoy you’re not going to make a very good Muslim if you keep talking to people like that. I wasn’t assuming anything, I was saying my experience. My parents didn’t magically accept me, I know they aren’t happy with my decision, but they still love me I’m their daughter. If they stop loving you because of your choice then they’re pretty bad parents to begin with. Keep talking to people like that Allah will not be happy with you.

I'm twelve right now and I've wanted to wear the hijab for about a year and a half now, but I was so scared to tell my mom because with our family, no one wears the hijab. I was also scared, because she wasn't totally for the idea of wearing a hijab, she felt like it was a way to control women. Slowly about 8 months ago I started hinting that I would want to wear it and I finally told her, and she was surprisingly accepting about it. I was still a little worried about how other people in our family would feel about it, and if they would judge me for literally being the only one in our family to want to wear it, but about a week later I learned that my slightly older cousin had actually told her mom that she wants to wear one too. We were both shocked that we had both wanted to wear one and it made us both feel better about wanting to wear it because we could do it together.
