I think the key is either hitting R1, assessing, then sprinting into space with big CBs, or with nimbler players, tap the left analog in different directions briefly as soon as you win the ball and you'll even surprise yourself out of the situation -- but it's super difficult to get the hang of either way. You just need to buy yourself a yard to think and you'll find your own way to do that. Players with good touch always helps. Does feel like it's super hard to geggenpress this year even if your team is designed for it :/ Overall a decent FIFA though

I play for 15 years, im not a rooky. This Fc24 is broken real bad. This is not fotball is just a nervous fail down. I tried every setting, every formation, every tactic. Nothing works.. I put 5 goals in but i concede at least 6. 🙄
I watched this yesterday ahead of a tournament. I promise you I was on fire. I won the tournament with ease. It was amazing. The right stick switch just give you so much defense power.
My main problem I have is that I always commit to pressing the attacker now because I got so used to sealing out players (advanced defending) that I rely on it way too much and spam it. Another reason also is that right stick switching has always been inconsistent for me and never switches to who I want to, so maybe I just need to master it or got another issue to fix like a setting or something idk.

for some reason when i’m defending the player i switched to starts running to a spot and ignoring my left stick i out of where i want him to run (example i move the left back to run towards the corner to cut off the attacker but my left back starts running inside the box) anyone else experience this or could it be my controller? i’m on pc but i haven’t dropped my controller
@@quinnquinnquinn215 it allows 2 defenders to press 2 players on the opponents team .. it allows a high chance to intercept a pass .. but practice it so you know when it’s best to use it . But it has improved my defense a lot
Also, even if you do that, you seem to concede a lot of goals from impossible angels in career mode ultimate difficulty just because your goalkeeper is below 80, finding it a bit hard in career mode ultimate difficulty with VFL Bochum

If you hold sprint too unbalanced, if you hold the L2 it's too slow again. I don't even know how tf it is in some matches with extra special cards, but in some matches it rhymes perfectly. I don't know how we can work as a community to make our voice heard. We all want a free and fair game.
I've been struggling with defending too this year. The advice I was given from a friend who is good at defending was... 1. Only make standing tackles as a last resort and use players with Jockey playstyle and Jockey as much as you can. The recovery of a failed stand tackles are brutal and players without Jockey playstyle turn like trucks. 2. Stop using LB button to switch players. Master right stick switching instead. 3. When a winger beats your full back on the break, never drag your CB out on the flank to contest the winger.

You can change your right stick sensitivity settings this year and you can change your LB/L1 settings too. I would also recommend swallowing your pride and going a 5 back formation. It could make it easier for you to learn how to switch.

@@areeb1757advanced defending has dramatically improved my defense. I was struggling to handle controlled sprint and any skill move in the box and on the wings. With advanced defending I take the ball off opponents so easy. It makes average CBs look elite. The contain button has been replaced with a surge button instead and works amazing. Just my 2 cents.
@@thomasmclaughlin3339 oh it will ofcourse help if used properly but my point is that it foesnt mean you can hold A and seal out all the time as you may end up missing the ball. Plus if I'm not mistaken you need the playstyles for it to be effective
@@areeb1757try it. It is game changing. I never used the X button before and now I can’t keep my finger off of it. I do have walker and Mendy on the wings but even when they get beat I use the button to track down wingers and they catch meta wingers and strikers. I am using women CB that are 75 pace and 5’5 and are taking the ball off of Haaland and the likes. Just try it in a draft or something to get used to it. It is absolutely game changing and will transform your defense as well.

The DEFENDING mechanics are absolutely TRASH. The GAMEPLAY Is GOD AWFUL. Defending should be as easy as passing and shooting. Well, its NOT. Its annoying and BROKEN. Best way to defend is NOT TO DEFEND. Switch to a midfielder. hold teammate contain. Let the AI do ALL the work. This is one of the WORST EA games ever created. Thank God FIFA have dropped them. Its time to switch to another Football game.

In a 2 v2 situation even if you dont press r1 for help defense, the CB that you are not controlling tends to get out of position giving the other attacker enough space to push and shot , team that up with the impossible angles they be scoring from it becomes impossible to defend 😂😂

The main problem is that the right stick switching likes to piss you off sometimes by switching to wrong player

Defender players are always in the attack zone, they always go forward for attack regardless of any tactic , setup etc.

Double Tap R2 + hold helps a lot this year to cover spaces

I mean it's no different to standard defending except ypu can press A or X and seal out. Its worth a try but it won't magically help u defend tho
