This might be true, but I have an experience where the man come over to give me his number, and never asked for my number. And he was the only man who came over and I was the only woman he interacted with before he left. I never called him because he was supposed to make the plans. When he gave me his number I just had a bad feeling. I’m sure he was just playing a game to see if I’d fall prey. Needless to say, it backfired on him.
Why do some men pursue, and then as soon as we show interest back, then they withdraw?? Seems like this withdraw-thing is a rather common phenomenon. 🤦🏽♀️
The interest back might be coming off as too aggressive and may come off as desperate. Might be too willing to do too much too soon. Maybe? Or some guys just like the pursuit. THAT turns them on. Perhaps...

What if the man I’m interested in (and supremely attracted to) is only connected with me in a professional manner. He has not flirted with me or been unprofessional in any way. How can I tell if he is just being professional and respectful or if he is disinterested. The professional relationship is functionally over and I have no reason to ever see or contact him again. But I’ve never been so attracted to a person like this. I’m 43. This could be a crush. But I’ve been there done that. This is different. Maybe just a different crush? Will he ever pursue me?

You said it right Stephan: "if there's attraction, there will not be a lot of work to do." I always put attraction first before i date someone, if I'm not attracted by someone, I'll put him in the friend zone and leave him there lol.
When me and my boyfriend met for the first time, we talked for 15 minutes, then he asked me my number and I give it to him without excitation because I was attracted to him and him the same.

If the woman is interested, she will respond to his actions in a positive way by thanking him for calling, telling him that she had a great time on the date, telling him how much she appreciated whatever he did for her. IMO, women should never be the one to initiate anything (calls, dates, etc.). The woman should be the "responder", not the "initiator". Call me "old school", but the way I was raised was that women don't chase men.

I spent many years being controlled by a man who only cared about what I provided to him financially. I learned a great deal from that experience. And I lost myself in the 20 years that I was always going the extra mile.
I will never be in this situation again. I have a full life with my friends and family, volunteer work that I will never give up because it’s part of who I am. I have time to focus on someone special in my life and I do this with always having balance in my life. Ladies, communicate up front. If you are not being valued, walk away. Do it with grace and kindness, but walk away. Your time will be there when the timing is right!

It's not the case for every man. Once I started dating a guy.. he seemed very interested and sweet ... we were taking things slow (i was). One day, he told me that his ex-girlfriend bought him a Rolex for his birthday (a couple of months after he broke up with her)..
So, he felt that he should try to go out with her...

And that's not trying hard because you never know when you will have another date ..depending on your work schedule especially if you are self-employed, the more you grow the more you don't try hard your business takes 90% of your time

Stephan, I think the real issue is how we are made. Women are naturally lovers and love to show it! The issue is men do not yet they are always complaining that they want to be loved but always pushing away the women that do! It is just confusing and a game where everyone is confused and getting hurt! Women have to tone down their personalities to get a man. It took my years to become “neutral.”

If he is TRULY a man of God, then he should be on the same page as you and abstaining until marriage should be just as important to him. If he is getting frustrated and making you feel like you need to go against your boundaries and give in, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing, plain and simple. You will know them by their fruits. Pray about it and be ready to walk away if necessary. There are a lot of spiritual narcissists out here so got to be careful.

Stephan please help explain why a man wants validation and says he wants to be exclusive but when I start giving him that, he pulls back! Then I pull back to give him space and then he thinks I am messing with someone else. Its a lose lose situation. What is your opinion on this?

I really don't understand this at all I've always been the type of woman who loves large and when I say that I mean that when I am in a relationship my partner is then the king of my castle. Love language is words of affirmation constantly give him compliments and respect. I'm also a gift giver little and sometimes big things to show how much I appreciate their presence in my life. Cater to their needs whether it's cooking them dinner serving him doing his laundry rubbing out his sore spots all of it and I guess part of that and the reason I do those things is it makes me feel good but I always seem to find the ones who don't appreciate or reciprocate so I'm pretty lost

I have the opposite problem I'm painfully shy and if I spy someone I'm attracted to and I know it's mutual and they like me, I can no longer even look in that person's direction but..
İf the man is confident enough to just come on over and chat it puts me out of my misery, because when the guy is expecting more drawn out glances and eye flirting I get so awkward and cannot deal with it, and I'm now ages 43. Only twice in my life have I been brave enough to be the 1 to start initiating, and if it's someone I'm not attracted to I've no issues, it's only when I'm genuinely attracted to them. Otherwise I love a playful harmless flirt with others even when not attracted just because it boosts their moral and makes them feel good lol I'm a Gemini it's what we do.

I think the main reason that women cross the line of doing too much is because they know that they're not as physically attractive as other women. So, they try to get a man interested in them via their enthusiastic, positive personality (which they have to put effort into generating).
