    I got up this morning and saw this video. I had about an hr before my buddy waa to pick me up. I tied up a few for each of us to try. When we got to the river it was very murky with only about a foot of visability. Three casts in I hooked up with a nice 18" brown. I think the orange bead helped with the clouded water conditions. We each ended up catching about 6 just on this Hot Spot Pheasant tail. Nice simple and effective tie. As a side note, I put the under wrap to pitch my tails too. Keep up the great videos, I always enjoy your content.

    I love your enthusiasm and passion in your presentations. I fish most weeks for browns and rainbows down-under in NZ and consistently tie your patterns along with an international selection of other great fly-tier patterns. I only wish postage costs internationally were not so exorbitant as it usually doubles the cost of the product. Looking forward to the day when international travel allows another adventure in North America. Kind Regards.

    I am not into euro nymphing as of yet. I do tie similar PT's though my favorite for this time of year is an # 18 tied the same way Frank Sawyer tied the fly- as for the wire, it's my go-to these days, or at least since I bought a spool of it three years ago. Heck, I just got around this year to actually buy a four-piece fly rod! I like quick-to-tie flies, because well if you are not losing flies you are not fishing deep enough. 6x is pretty much the sweet spot, not too heavy not too light. Lot of heavy rain events since mid-July, so my local streams are way above where they normally are for flows this time of year, and It's been warm. Need about a week with the over-nite lows in the low 50's at least.

    Thanks for sharing the great pattern. On hackle pliers, just let it hang while securing it?

    • @TimCammisa
      @TimCammisa  2 года назад

      You're welcome, Anablak, and thanks for taking a moment to comment. For the body, you can let it hang, though that depends on a couple things, such as the weight of your hackle pliers. With some materials, if you bump the materials while they're attached to hanging clips, they can come undone or become unruly. Each material and tool truly reacts differently. Hope that helps!
