This is easily the best episode of the entire season and personal favorite, brings back this dark and cinematographic tone from the earlier seasons and honestly this is the season 6 premiere for me and not the non-existent reheated food ‘’coming home’’ episode. Haunting of Amphipolis would be the second best season premiere after 4x01-02. The journey back to each one of their roots potidea and amphipolis would be a great way to begin seas6 after 25 yrs being frozen, yet they decided to use the furies plot from 3x01 simply bcuz ‘’there was so much footage left undone from 5x22’’ and just like that tapert trashed seas6 premiere. I quite like Eve’s exorcism spell-pray nodding to Christianity she was sth like moameth’s counterpart after all and for those who prefer to just mock a corny phrase, just for everyone’s information, eve’s chant was a metaphor from a Christian pray called ‘’OUR FATHER’’ (πατερ ημων in ancient greek) and usually Christians in all over the global say it when things are getting rough or when they need God to guide them and bring them peace SO PLEASE BE MORE CAUTIOUS WITH YOUR JOKES!!! I do appreciate how the writers tried to give xena ‘’the benefit of the doubt’’ and put us through a series of xenas evil storylines (for all the evil she’s spread all the killing and the suffering she put ppl through) and how she tries to make things right for the past events’ sake like the death of her brother giving a whole new meaning to xena’s redemption image, pretty much like eve-livia’s atonement trying to make up for her past by preaching eli’s message. Also renne’s acting during the whole season is so cringeworthy , either the editors chose shots were renne felt just so off or she just got tired of portraying Gabby bcuz she felt nothing like the careless, free-spirited girl from seas2 and honesty I felt like the show at this point had two Xenas. Regardless of how useless she was I mean xena has to fight the king of hell, eve’s blood will brith him back to the world and gabby is just there, telling the what not to do lol. As for gabby being so easily possessed I believe that since witchwraft was a thing back then she should ask for an enchanted amulet or maybe ask Aphrodite to cast a protection spell-shield around gabby in order to keep her safe from possession, xena seemed immune anyway. I did love xena’s battle with Mephistopheles, among my favorites tied with alti and the ending with cyane finally meeting the granddaughter which protected back in 5x14 so touching

She just brought out what was already there. Even before their encounter, he had shown pride of his rapid ascension. So no. Lucifer wasn't innocent.
no way. as an arch angel Lucifer was not innocent which made it even worse, Xena just exposed that... also, everyone including Xena was affected by the open portal to Hell... this made her more accepting of tricking Lucifer.

Plus it's been implied that Lucifer was sent with the intention of having him taking the throne, and that Xena figured out that part after reading him.

Probably Dahak since he's the literal manifestation of people's darkness, and he truly can't die. Whereas Mephistopheles and Lucifer were created by their own darkness despite looking down on humans. Dahak's power is almost infinite.

Very good observation. I have often wondered this myself. Even though Mephistopheles hadn't been introduced yet, most likely it was Mephistopheles who appeared to Hercules as Serena. Assuming continuity between these two storylines, your observation would be a very logical one. And most likely it was Mephistopheles who was demon Callisto's "lord". Just watched this episode, I love this fight! Season 6 definitely started really well, I'm enjoying it!

Very good observation. I have often wondered this myself. Even though Mephistopheles hadn't been introduced yet, most likely it was Mephistopheles who appeared to Hercules as Serena. Assuming continuity between these two storylines, your observation would be a very logical one. And most likely it was Mephistopheles who was demon Callisto's "lord".
Not sure about your third question though. It's a good one. I may need to rewatch this episode.
