    You do a good job explaining things. Been so long since I disassembled mine forgot why there's x3 grommet holes and I only have x2 grommets and you answered in video. Thanks, keep up the good work.

    Once again, I look at your channel and find the job I just completed.
    I got an engine and transmission with only 150,000 miles for $4200.
    Now I'm reconnecting everything.

    Fantastic stuff... Funny thing is, the dodgy bodywork wouldn't bother me too much, here in Scotland chassis corrosion is the main issue,

    Great informative video, we just had ours pulled out for a rebuild and was curious how they got the engine out to strip it down. Keep up the great videos guys. Thanks 🙏

    Really great video- how many miles on the engine?

  • @bryang6869

    Thanks for the great vid. I have just started the same process today.
    I'm in Australia and therefore steering wheel is on the right side (as opposed to the wrong side ;)
    The Wiring loom that you have disconnected is from the fuse block? or off the ECU?
    That's about all that I've got left to disconnect (saved the scariest till last)
    Thanks for the great content!!

      ECM connection. We need to take the connector apart to get it through the hole in firewall.

    Thanks For another great video! You are certainly helping me understand the sprinter as My wife and I just purchased a 2004 Sprinter Pleasure Way RV. Was wondering if you have ever done a video that I may have missed on Removing /Replacing the dial for the ventilation direction, ? ie feet, defrost etc. Our dial is very very difficult to turn.

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  2 года назад

      No, we have not made one. The dial can be stiff and the bicycle cables it pushes can also be stiff. My early efforts at this repair made only a small difference in a big problem, so I felt it was not successful enough to share.

      @@FloridaVanMan Thanks very much, Any suggestions to correct it? Lube the cables? Replace everything? Also how difficult is it to get the dash apart to get to these parts?

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  2 года назад

      @@michaelcox6559 Not difficult but you do need to dig in a bit. The stuff around the shifter is in the way of screws for the dash face. A couple screws are hiding, one by the driver's knee behind a cover-clip, one under the center rectangular pocket.
      Disconnect to lube the cables and the knob-guts. Slide the cables back and forth and turn the plastic valves in the dash where those cables go. You'll find the stiffness and know what to concentrate on when you get there. Say a few magic words before putting it all together. :O)

      Are these 2.7 5 cylinders reliable? I’m looking at a 2007 leisure pleasure way with 145k miles. Any thoughts?

    Would be a nice van without that huge dent

    Heavy sigh in the middle of the video. want to make sure you know your documenting efforts are appreciated. same questions as others how many miles on the motor what's the motor worth complete like you pulled it out and what do you think a removal and replacement labor value is. I personally am wondering if my excellent motor can be removed and the van converted to an EV.

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  2 года назад +3

      Thank you! This one had about 220k miles and I feel it is worth $5k complete. Installation labor I think about $1500. We can get a rebuilt for about the same price, but without the alternator, turbo, injectors, starter, transmission, etc. A rebuilt doesn't come ready to plop in and drive away.

    Congratulations you converted a 1500 USD van into 3500 USD in less than 8 hours. That´s 2000 clear. Now when that next desperado comes along you can make another cool one K putting that motor back where it belongs! I mean 3000 USD installed is about right, no?

      I was thinking $1500 is fair to install, but I put it in the van seen in the background. That van will become a nice camper one day. When I get time...
