Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week! Mercedes-Benz may still be confusing the heck out of consumers with their nomenclature, but the latest GLE 63 S aka successor to the ML 55 AMG from 2000 is still one of the best high-performance SUV's on the market. When you want a sports car but need a family SUV, the latest 2024 version has a lot to offer the wealthy buyer who can afford its 6 figure price tag!
This is the best vehicle I’ve owned. It is remarkably luxurious and comfortable yet it’s a beast when you’re wanting high performance. This will never be as engaging as a 911 or sports sedan but for an SUV, it’s outstanding. I test drove the X5M comp & SQR8, both terrific as well. I chose the 63s due to comfort & performance
3:20...I don't understand your point. it doesn't matter it costs to fill the tank. That's tank size X price per gallon. What matters is how often (MPG) you have to fill the tank.
I bought an ML63 2014 (performance package) 39,000 with 38k miles . I absolutely LOVE it. 560hp 560 Tq with the “performance package “ 5.5L bi-turbo M157 . Maybe in 10 years theses will be around the same price . Can’t go wrong with a low milage AMG 👌
I like all brands.. all of them have pluses and minuses... I like the X5's also theGLE.. GLE 63 would be softer and not quite as agressive as the X5m.. if you want a sportier SUV get the X5m, or even the X5 60i would be enough..
The first thing I did in both my 2022 E450 All-Terrain Wagon and the 2024 GLE450, is to turn OFF the distracting ambient lighting. Very annoying, especially when driving at night, and you see the ambient lighting reflected onto the side window glass.
I have a 21 gla 250. Benz put us in a gle last year when I needed service. I liked it and kinda wanted one. I liked having a 3 row available but like the size of the gla... I don't need a amg. But definitely might get a gle next..
Great review, I just wanted to give you a suggestion for the next video... I think that you should compare the refreshed 2024 BMW X5 M Competition to this vehicle. They are both refreshed and they both offer a good amount of performance.
I would hope BMW has improved the electronics in the X5; my husband has a 2023 and for me who isn't in it all the time I find the electronics not to be user friendly at all. It's slow to respond and requires to much attention to find what you want/need as a driver.
how's ride comfort? I've been told that it is ROUGH even in comfort/normal settings. I'm in the market for a "performance" SUV, and I have my eyes set between this, X5M, RSQ8, and Cayenne S. But one of my big concerns are daily drive comforts. I don't mind a slightly harsher ride, but I don't want to feel like the car is trying to break my lumbar lol. Other reviews I've watched puts the RSQ8 as the most comfortable, with the GLE 63S behind that, and the X5M dead last as it's VERY uncomfortable. But I'd rather hear it from actual owners mouths. If it's comfy, I'll definitely take the GLE over all of them.

Picked one of these up last Saturday, biggest mistake I ever made. Bought the vehicle off the showroom floor, I noticed an issue with it as soon as I got home. Vehicle has been in the shop ever since. Service tech said he’s never found so many things wrong with a vehicle this new with only 325 miles on it. Great review. Only correction is that the GLE does not have an MCT transmission, but rather a TCT (torque converter) but an AMG version. Only the GLC63 and smaller get an MCT, which also gets a real launch control. However, you can easily brake boost a GLE63 and get a stellar launch.
