About 23 years ago, #MercedesAMG introduced the first-ever high-performance version of an SUV called the ML55. It offered a big V8, over 350 HP and 4Matic AWD. It started a new segment of crazy fast SUV's and with so many options to choose from today, AMG has been busy upping their game with this 2021 #GLE63S. With nearly twice the power of the original, this #MercedesAMGGLE63S offers over 600 HP from its electrified 4.0L twin-turbo V8, 4Matic+ AWD, 0-60 in under 4 seconds and a top speed of over 174 MPH.

I don't know how often Redline sees his comments, but, you should start doing more cars that the masses can afford on top of all of these awesome luxury cars. I miss when I used to be able to come to this channel for a diverse selection of reviews, lately it's been a ton of cars that most people can't afford
I'm kinda worried about its reliability, although no car in this segment is reliable

But you know no dealership, be it in the certified pre-owned section of an official M-B dealer or just some standalone used dealer lot, will ever price one of these to honor such depreciation. Especially after only one year. Every leech that is a used car salesman will definitely push that unjustified high price tag long after the value has plummeted. And then justify it as "it's a Mercedes-Benz man!"

The point that you mentioned about the EQ boost technology replacing the starter noise is pretty cool! During the engine start it didn't make a cranking noise, it was just a flip of the switch kind of noise

Great review as always! Though it seems a lot of car reviewers always miss out on the extra configurable functions of the left AMG Drive Unit. If you tap on it you can change it to do different functions such as exhaust valves, suspension, etc. It's more configurable than the Porsche's dial (and better looking) and I believe AMG had it before Porsche as well.
Would definitely buy this if it was in my price range, can’t beat the luxury and performance 👌🏾

@@Qugie I noted the same thing about the Porsche Cayenne GTS coupe that Savagegeese reviewed recently. It looked like a lifted Panamera. BMW is to blame for starting this trend in the first place with the X6.

Besides the X5 M Competition, how does the GLE 63 S compare to the Cayenne Turbo? I'd imagine these are its two main rivals - not just the Bimmer?

We leased the gle580. Its soft and powerful. Do wish is was louder. With ecu tune will make it bit more fun. The third row is tight. But we do have 2 small kids that fit ok. Gle63 is great suv... but if u dont need the leg room in 2nd row. Take e63 wagon.

@@alvialam1059 it's not about paying it. It's the amount of time the car will be spending in the shop being repaired. I mean, great for you if you want to continually blow $10k every year on repairs when the car is maybe worth $30k. Just sounds like an over complicated, annoying mess of a vehicle to deal with.
It was between this and the x5M for me, but AMG wins this one. The new interior just works much better than the X5M.
Can you get a Vehicle Performance Meter like Racelogic to get an accurate time for the 0-60s since you are launching cars several times during your reviews?

I work at a mercedes dealer and we just started getting more and more of these in, all the models with this biturbo motor is stupid quick, especially the g63, the new gle’s though have a lot of problems
Wait, the vehicle can spritz perfume at you? So when you bring in the vehicle to be serviced and they top off the fluids for you are they also topping off the perfume?

Great review as usual. Love Merc's.. beautiful attention to detail but about 20-25k too much for my pocket book. Have you reviewed the lighter 21 SQ7...I know its not the same vehicle or hp at 500...but 40k less and still looks good.
@CLOUT unfortunately we drive about 22k per year. We are semi retired and Wife doesn't fly.
The Audi SQ7, SQ8 are nice but have 500hp. This GLE AMG 63 competes with the RSQ8 and after drive in both I purchased the Mercedes. I found the interior better as well as the drive. Just my opinion. Both are phenomenal
Great review you forgot to show that the 2 left fav buttons on the Steering wheel are customizable.. I still think the X5 M looks better, I'd personally take the X6 M-Competition and Genesis was technically 1st to do the Augmented Reality Nav.. 👏🏾👌🏾👏🏾✊🏾🏳️🌈

What’s the warranty and how much are the repair costs once it expires?
More than 80% of GLE AMG's are leased. This is not the type of vehicle you would dare own past warranty. Think of it as a short-term luxury apartment that you would rent rather than a house you would own.

it has a torque converter TCT 9 G MG speedshift not MCT if im not mistaken & thats why there is no real launch control

Very impressive!! Gorgeous all around, very sporty, the tech is incredible, and that sound from the V8! 😍🤤💦 but the gas mileage is a joke! I guess that's what you sacrifice for such great performance!

EQ Boost sounds a lot like Ecoboost.
Track hawk is faster but this does look good
The track hawk is faster in a straight line, the merc would beat tge trackhawk as far as speed with manuverability
If I wasn't getting the 63S I would pick up the GLE580 rather than the 53.
