The negative comments here are rather reactionary. Youre reaction and analysis is pretty spot on and fair imo. You got it right on the head that shes not super comfortable with singing in Japanese. I also agree that she pretty obviously had traditional vocal training. Youre one of the only reactors that actually has musical insight, rather than just reacting! Her karaokes really highlight how good she is as a vocalist. The fundamentals and flourishes appear second nature to her allowing her to really give each piece her own sound. Quite remarkable stuff, easily the best vocalist in hololive. Hope to see more of these reactions from you! Edit: also have you had composer type training or classes? The way you talk about the various layers and levels of a piece appear grounded in alot of knowledge.
Thanks, I appreciate that! I've taken many classes for guitar and clarinet in the past, and I've also been in a couple bands (both symphonic and rock/metal), which is where most of my music knowledge comes from!
seconding the other person recommending to check out her debut stream, where she sings 3 other songs live. her vocals are CRAZY, my jaw was dropped the whole time she's singing especially with the second song. i got the impression too that she's at least some degree classically trained bc of her technique
Just saw the debut, her voice is incredible! I can't wait to hear more from her! She absolutely made those songs her own, hands down the best Daddy Daddy Do cover I've heard!
Would highly, HIGHLY recommend watching her debut stream in general for a good view of her showing off what she’s able to do (not even for video upload purposes, though I certainly wouldn’t be upset if you did one on it lol). She’s quite the powerhouse
