I just bought one. Same year and color. Came with a mustang seat, extra chrome everywhere, saddlebags and passing lights. Also new tires. Had 1800 miles on it😎
I had 1994 vlx600 I had it for little bit then I sold it to old man in his 80s that can barely get on it then he sold it to his grandson find his grandson I want school with hem so now I get to see some times lol. I love that bike it had 36 thousand miles when I bought the lady I bought from took from upstate New York to Chicago and back that is crazy.
Stop calling it a starter bike! I've had my 2000 VT600 for 168,000 miles and have ridden it coast to coast and border to border and many points in between. I'm 6'1", 210, and 73 years old. A few mods for extra comfort on those long, long road trips and there's no reason to call this a starter bike! So stop it!
I bought a 05 shadow 600 vlx last year and love it. It came with a intake and cobra exhaust and man that baby is loud. It had high mileage but runs smooth and good. I chopped the rear off and turned it into a bobber style bike and for a Honda it gets a lot of attention. It’s definitely worth it fellas.
@@stunna0014 considering I paid 3k out the door for 45k miles I say yea lol. I rushed into it because Jst wanted a bike ASAP. Plus Honda lasts long so u are good buddy 👍
I bought a Honda VLX 600 in 2000 and have this bike still. Have bought ans sold many bikes since but have kept this one throughout. 28K miles on it and only thing I would change on it is fuel injected which is the reason I'm looking at the new ones now. Even if I buy a new one will probably hang on to this one.
I have 48,000 Miles on mine. Never need to add oil between oil changes and still running like the day it was new. I customized mine but not the typical way. It's one of the few modern motorcycles a Vetter Windjammer fairing can be mounted on, which I did. I have the Vetter bag's and trunk too. I did that 12 years ago. Now I'm older so I added a Velorex 562 sidecar to it. It looks nothing like the original bike but it can be returned to it's original condition because I didn't cut or weld anything.
Honda Ascot (not the single) -> Honda Hawk Gt647 -> Transalp -> This bike. These are great engines that last a long time. Torque with revability. 40k-100k miles easy. With today's lubricants you may have a forever bike.
48,000 on mine and still running like it did when purchased new. I'm sure someone will enjoy it after I'm Dead and gone because that's the only way I'm giving it up lol.
Are the tubed tires a pain? Or is it a non-issue? The tubed tires and the carb are definitely negatives for me. But I'm seeing a lot of positive things about this model regardless.
I had a Virago 750 for a couple days before it had an oil passage clog and seize the rear head's camshaft. Boom. 😵 It was much sportier and more nimble than the VLX 600 I have now but the entire line of bikes suffers from a straight up trash starter and the dual carb setup is nearly impossible to sync back up if it gets out of whack. Just get the Honda if you never want to be let down and get the Virago if you're willing to take the risk of more headaches in exchange for a really fun bike that feels more like a sport bike than a cruiser. Damn I miss that bike.
That bike sits very low to the ground so tall people make it look small, which it's not. It's a popular bike with small people with the lowest of saddles of nearly all other motorcycles. It's a very long and low motorcycle.
I bought this exact bike new in 2004. 40K miles later it still runs GREAT. You cannot kill this thing.... I have tried !

I have a 2007 Shadow 600 VLX and truly enjoy riding it every chance I get -- and any excuse is a good one to ride the bike. Average about 64 mpg.
Just got one with 16k miles on it. I just got my endorsement, and this is my first bike. I took my first ride on it today. I love it!
These are what motorcycling is about.
You make the Bike Special with the Compliments you Gave it, makes me Feel Glad I Own One!!! Nice Job

I have a friend that has a 04 Shadow 600 with over 30,xxx miles. Runs great!
Getting mine in a few weeks can’t wait
Will it make a good commuter? Gas is nuts these days, I live in CA.
Does anyone know where I can get a complete wiring harness for my Honda vlx 600? I’m a kid with a tight budget and don’t have connections

Nicee👍👍👍
If someone this American guns and flags and all, still endorses something that's not a HD, I'm listening.
Mag wheels. Shaft drive. Fuel injected instead of carbureted and honda woulda sold 10 gazilliontrillion of em. And without the drum brake.
Not every bike is a harley....
