Yesterday I played this mod into the night, it’s so cool! After a dragon from the Ice and fire mod lit my house on fire to which I killed it and raided it’s nest, I knew I had to find a portal to retreat to a whole other world
I feel like this would be a really good mod to make a Dark Souls world. And not a world that's limited by a different engine. This would be a Dark Souls world that continues past the dark horizon.
@@oxtailpuncake1211 Nope, because then we wouldn't do ourselves a favour ;) Porting to newer versions from 1.12 means we have to rewrite almost the entire mod. With a small team like ours that would take ages. By the time we'd finally have a port out, we'd be outdated already + our programmers would be pretty burnt out. So instead, we decide to have fun with it and focus on new content updates, rather than a port.
In my opinion, I think the Betweenlands is singlehandedly the gold standard for all dimension mods. There are some really good ones out there, but stylistically, mechanically, and "fun" wise, I think the Betweenlands has most other mods beat. I'm glad mods are following in its footsteps, because this mod is just too damn cool to be fair to anyone else.

Damn this is a Minecraft mod they didn't have to go THAT HARD Seriously I'm in love with this mod. It's like an entire different game made with Minecraft. It's my absolute favorite mod of all time and the reason why I'm obsessed with swamps now (my second favorite mod is Twilight forest which is a classic tbh)
This mod has so much love and thought put into it. Creator really made his own dimension and decided the rules of the game and the way it’s played should fit his dimension, too. Just brilliant work.
Honestly it might be small and considered strange for some- but thank you for giving a bug warning in certain parts of the video. While not really a bug, I'm quite arachnophobic myself, and I guess something about it carries over to minecraft mods for that. So thank you so much for the warning.
i get bursts of fear when traversing massive open oceans, and someone else i know feels their fear of heights jump out when they play MC. i find it interesting that our fears can extend past real life (and real danger)
Note: you're probably not a native English speaker, so I can see why you make this mistake, but anything called a Matriarch would be female, as it means something skin to "female leader" or "mother." Just a heads up, great video :)

*I could imagine a movie of this that goes with* Long ago the mc is the strongest player amongst all players, after adventuring to search for a worthy player to fight, he came across a strange ritual place, till the druids spawned and he fought them and got the talisman, after attempting to use the talisman, then a strange tree grew on the ground for a sudden, He tried to go through the door of the tree then for a sudden he disappeared then arrived at a strange and mysteriously dark world, after seeing the terrifying creatures of the world he was in, he tried to battle them like how he battled the mobs hes been through, but then he realizes that his weapons are useless against those horrifying creatures, at first he was hopeless and ran, then he hides, until i think to himself "*No! I wont give up, i will never die!*" Then his new journey continues on living on the world "*betweenlands*" Trying to find a way to go back to his home
I think I know a way to bypass the food issue when you enter the between lands. Just bring a few ender chests and place one down before entering the portal and put all your food in it. Then place another ender chest in the other dimension.

I think being a vampire I’d have a LOT of advantages in the realm.. but doesn’t seem like a good place with blood sources available. Definitely balanced unless I can find any blood then bad day
There is always an opportunity to store those in the chest you set up in overworld near the portal, and come back to it when in need, to eat some food before returning
I'm a year late Totally agree with you there. I haven't actually played this mod, but watching this video, my brain was constantly trying to work out what I could automate with Create. For example, I was wondering about a potion-brewer with fluid inputs etc... but nvm lol
i spawned next to the spirt tree, a boss in the betweenlands haha yeah it was painful to get away from it Edit: removed the * from spirit tree, as it was glitching
I really hope you use some mods to highlight the item name or block name during the show case And also put some details as lines or key words on screen when describing the item mobs or blocks As your voice is low Is m really requesting you ..... As that would help your showcase more and get more subscriber as I really love your channel one of the five channels which actually do some proper showcase or tell some brief things in some mods
I don't have the time as of writing this to watch the whole showcase, but from what I've skimmed through this is very well put together. If I am correct in assuming you are pretty young, that makes this all the more impressive.

Slimy bone may not seem great but it is very very common, so damn common that it is best to gest use to slime bone gear. Also as an opinion, the Wights will instant kill you, but I think it can balance out if the wights take like extra damage while in possession mode though suffer no knock back. Or maybe if wights are prone to catching on fire. The mod is terrifying in some ways than it should, as well as fun at times, heck my first playthrough (An early version of the betweenlands) where I used a battletower that spawned in as my own base foundation. Made an indoor garden and feasted on the glowing mushrooms while having an basement gecko garden, this was before they can be used as alternative fuel.
I literally am currently making a mod that has an enemy that looks almost identical to the shambler but without the tounge. I make the concepts before playing this mod

This mixed with thaumcraft lotr magic crops and that one mod that adds in all those mobs and dimensions (i forgot its name it has a level system to keep you from hunting mobs stronger than you) and rouge dungeons mod it would make a nice d&d mod list even if you add botania and tinkers construct also twilight forest

Really great video, though the Eye boss fight reminds me of two things, Face Raiders and a dream that I had for another boss fight for the End. So, you know how the texture for the skybox thing. I imagined a huge creature that sits on a throne, The King of the End. If you want me to continue telling my dream, then I can, though I think you can get the picture.

sometimes I try to download fabric mods and it doesn’t work even though my mod pack is fabric is it because of my version? Because I play version 1.20 and I feel like this mod pack might be in version 1.19.
Watching this to understand it for the Sevtech modpack. I got bullied by a wight, a chiromaw, and a hag before I even got 5 blocks away from my portal.
great review! I've played with it once but i forgot how annoying the mechanics really are, so much annoyance to make the mod harder. Tho it can probably be a good balance for modpacks, and i can see a good challenge for players who like to take things up a notch, keep up with the thorough review
Between preventing you from bringing outside items in and the arbitrary boat changes, I feel like the mod author is the controlling, micromanage-y type that wants to force you to play their way. Let players know about how it's balanced and then let them do what they want, damn.

Druid circles don't spawn occasionally, I had had 4 of them spawn in a straight line.

its still getting love and content updates with a pretty decently sized community, there just aren't any plans to update past 1.12 for now

Making the dimension essentially an alternate subgame is genius.

This feels like it could be a standalone game, and that Minecraft is just the game engine.
