Skagit has been left traffic as long as I’ve been going there. FYI, a right downwind/base to 11 can put you in conflict with flowers traffic when the daffodils & tulips are in bloom. The counterclockwise flower traffic edges close to the airport, I’m always wary of left downwind traffic to runway 29. All that said, to err is human and if we’re not learning something on every flight we’re doing it wrong! All good brother 👍👍
It also proves how insidious confirmation bias really is. I looked at the extended runway and thought It was right. My dismay when I noticed the error.
Im living your mirror life 60 mile NE of you at CYYJ flying a Stinson. Ours is metalized with a 470. I’m still working out how to land it. I’ll be doing some IFR past you home field down to the water very soon. But keep that in the DL We should meet up one day when we have ADSB.
The -2 with the bigger motor and bit more speed will glide a bit better. I have on occasion slowed down and pulled the power off and she will sink. Was this your Stinson and do you still fly it?
@@FreedomfixerFlying THe flight school at KLBE (Latrobe PA) has it as a rental, and to get a tailwheel endorsement. Last time I flew it was end of october. BUT.... I can rent it. For a while, it was a real bargain. There was no Hobbs, just the tach time. SO.... the day I was practicing taxi.... I was playing around for about an hour.... but was only charged 0.3. THey now have a hobbs in it. I'm almost finished with a Sonex, and that's why I got my tailwheel.
Came to see a flying mistake, enjoyed the prop clear screams. LOL
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you come back for more.

Very Cool. KAWO has the same frequency as Fort Langley and we can hear them all the way down here. If you have instagram DM me @freedomfixer
The ground lighting off to the right on the approach to Payne is way brighter than the runway lights. Hard to find the runway.
I fly off of that exact runway all the time. I still lose it from time to time from the north. It's the only dark spot on the field.
I got my taildragger in a 108-1 with a franklin. fun plane to fly. but she sank quick when it was at idle.
